Problems with images

My error is due to the fact that the upload software is a shit. You have to wait three hours to copy a picture there. And when it was copied or is not visible, or the text isn't copied. Do something with this and don't accuse me because I have only good intentions. If you delete my images without to ask, then I leave your project.

And two other things: where is the signature (it should be below the button Save page, I don't see it) and the second, why you don't delete two duplicates http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/2009/07/14#File:Gara_Suceava_Nord2_.282.29.jpg. I asked to be removed two days ago. Nobody takes care to delete them, but you want to remove my picture because the upload software don't upload a license, only the picture. Nice of you. Reason(s)

1. No need for "strengthened" "nur" by bold type. The word is completely useless in this context.
2. No bot can find out whether information given in the template is useful for someone, or not. This additional (pseudo-) "information" is irrelevant, therefore confusing.
3. K.I.S.: Of course, nobody who would be willing to DONATE a few media files would like to read ALL_THAT_F***ING_STUFF which is linked -- that would mean that he/she would have to "study" wikipedia/wikimedia before being allowed to donate! Imagine a German en~0-1 speaker clicking "Vorlage". I-for-myself would probably turn my PC off, in such case. Similar when clicking "Lizenz" and arriving at a huge page (no German version available) which describes all that bloody history of licenses, whilst the newbie would in 95% just need Commons:Choosing a license#Common_free_licenses, or slightly more.
   Clicking "this page will help you" [it will not, it might, and only in case the newbie would be able to read it] would bring you to a template which broadly describes how to apply the "incomplete license" tag.

Off-topic: Same applies when clicking "Babel" from the "welcome" template. I would propose to create a couple of Newbie:Licenses, Newbie:Babelbox (of major importance!) and similar. The welcome-template should be redesigned to put the "Babel"-thing on a very prominent place -- I recently was contacted by a ca=N speaker (and regular contributor to wikimedia) with low-level English, whose major problem for several months was that he did not communicate his language abilities, because that "Babel" link was too confusing.

Nikbot not giving me a message

Just curious, is Nikbot supposed to tell me when it's tagged one of my files? I uploaded File:Beaver Valley Christian Fellowship.jpg and tagged it with PD-self, but due to a coding error on my part, it didn't appear that it had any license (see here as I uploaded it), so Nikbot reasonably tagged it. In my opinion a graphic by an unknown author published in the UK is clean. Which licence does the bot now want? If I knew I could change it in 15 days - but if it is as simple as that could the bot do the task automatically (* Second Worm *).

Following the link, to the description of UK ordinary copyright- I am directed to a flowchart that gives instruction on which copyright tag to use. (9.69.4 Duration of Copyright (UK))It uses data from Chris Padfield (or similar name) work. It is a clear flowchart- I wrote it. (* Third worm- This flowchart has been deleted- because some of the wording I used to describe UK copyright was also used in his work!)

All in all, a can of worms. If you would like to investigate some of the images- and help me by retagging them so you bot ( * who normally does an excellent job *) is happy. I have not a good enough connexion here. The links from the licence page needs to be edited out or the page I wrote reinstated- I have no desire to become an admin so haved the necessary tools or contacts. Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

"Not a valid license"

I was told that the page for File:Team-Associated-SC8-Kit.jpg does not have a valid license. I looked at the license page and used the acronym on the page: CC-BY. That is the correct license. It was created by the company I work for and pulled from my own desktop computer. If I have misunderstood Nikbot, please be more specific about which line should be changed. Nikbot

Hi! Nikbot keeps telling my bot about deprecated license tags. As I am usually not the one uploading thorugh it, and I usually don't check that page, there is little point in that. Better to inform the "transferer" or, better, the uploader in the original wiki - all information is on the image description pages. Also, Nikbot tags files like this, which have both {{PD}} and {{PD-old}}, as not having sufficient license information. That is wrong - they do have PD-old, they just have a superfluous PD template as well. Removing the latter when the former is present would be much more helpful than the current behaviour. The date of marking can be seen. The only thing I'm missig is a notification about that process. The last notification by nikbot is from 2009-10-09 20:21:34. I got the information about the deletion by commonsdelinker, who removed the reference to the file from german WP.

can you fix it?.

Hi. I've just received a message from your bot regarding File:Moon.Archimedes.jpg, a file I transferred from en.wp last night, saying that it "has a deprecated license tag" and that it will be deleted unless a new license is chosen. What exactly is wrong with the current license on the page? Why has the license tag been deprecated? Why am I being (indirectly) linked to a page that given me copyright information for every single possible country? It should be a license template, the images are in the PD and thats what it says. The "this isn't a license template" was added as the result of the deletion request a year ago. Back then there was a couple museums participating in Flickr's new commons thing, now many more are there. HELLO. I also was really annoyed by this little bot mucking up my legitmate uploads. Marking them with speedy delete and what not, I don't have time to retag all the ones that it messed with. Ciao! Scusa il disturbo. Vengo dal progetto Wikipedia dove fondamentalmente mi occupo di pagine dedicate alle regine della storia. Ho riscontrato due errori in due immagini che ritengo debbano essere rinominate. Una è questa (la dama fotografata è certamente Eugénie de Montijo e non Eugenie Leichtenberg, l'altra foto che ho messo come esempio nella motivazione fa fede perché viene dallo stesso servizio fotografico). L'altra immagine è questa: sono andato a ricontrollare sulla wikipedia polacca nella pagina dell'imperatrice Eugenia di Francia. La foto fin dall'inizio ha sempre presentato la dicitura corretta che la indica come Carola Wasa e il file originariamente caricato si chiamava Vasa007. Evidentemente quando l'hanno ricaricata su commons gli hanno erroneamente dato il nome dell'imperatrice Eugenia (anche se nelle categorie sono correttamente indicate gli anni di nascita e morte di Carola di Vasa e l'appartenenza alla casata di Oldenburg e di Sassonia). However, whenever I try to edit a Commons file using the Edit this page link, all I get is the php file opening in Notepad. The only way I can edit a Commons file is via an Edit link on the side. This particular file does not display one because there is no license section yet. This file should be licensed PD-SELF. Could you please add for me? There are two problems with this photo: 1. You didn't give a license. 2. You can't give a proper license because the user who uploaded the picture to Flickr states that he is not the original author of this photo (see the description). Assuming that this photo was released under CC-by-sa/2.0 the Flickr user is not in compliance with the license's attribution clause and neither were you when you uploaded the photo. RE: IMAGE LICENSING

I just got a message from your BOT saying that the licensing for several pictures I uploaded is incorrect. I thought I had followed the instructions correctly. If you click on the Permission "?" it says the following:

"If you know that your file falls under a specialized copyright rule not covered by the licenses mentioned in the "License" drop-down menu below, you may also write a copyright tag directly in this field instead of choosing a license below."

I thought i had done the instructions shown in bold so i added Cc-by-3.0-ec on the permission box for all pictures. Essentially, they are all licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-No Derivative Works 3.0 Ecuador as you can see in the following link Creative Commons 3.0 Ecuador.

I am new to wikipedia and would not want to lose all my hardwork uploading pictures so I please ask you to help me correct this issue. I appreciate it. You can go to my discussion page and see all the images I received messages for! Thank you in advance!

Hello Filnik and thanks for the welcome message. The file in question: Egyptian Fayoumi at show cropped.jpg came up in error, should have been another, this one is not cropped. I tried to clear the page but that was against the rules. Please delete. Yet I don't know wy license information wasn't added, it was uploaded with the 'deriative from commons' option. Also the bot welcome message is adressed to user "Ancientkingdom" though it appears on my talkpage. That would have something to do with this username being my username on english Wikipedia but as far as I can see I'm always signed in to commons with my SUL /Mercurial name and just about never on EnWiki. I'm sure your bot is very useful -- I sometimes forget the licence, so I know it is. However, in the case of File:Papier log log.svg, I purposedly removed the description to place a template:Bad name. It could be a good idea to teach your bot to recognise the various speed deletion templates and avoid useless messages.
