Fina bilder

Hej! Det är en underbar bildsamling som du har laddat upp! Det måste kännas tråkigt att du på en gång stöter på välmenande men beskäftiga användare på svenska wikipedia. För att lösa problemet, kanske du kan göra en egen licensmall, se Category:User custom license tags för exempel. Så kan man tacka den som donerade upphovsrätten. Samlingskategori

Hej! Jag skapade Category:Lars Jacob Prod's photo archive och jag hoppas att namnet är ok. Om det är bättre med något annat namn, är det inget problem att ändra. Imorgon ska jag titta vidare på detta med mallar. Det är lite snårigt faktiskt. Du har lagt bilderna ut med {{PD-Self}}. Det kan man försvara med att texten i mallen stämmer. Dock används mallen vanligtvis för att ladda upp bilder som man själv har gjort, och så tolkas den också väldigt ofta. Så för att förebygga misstolkningar (som kan leda till raderingsanmälningar), är det bättre att ersätta med något annat, men det är som sagt tekniskt lite komplicerat här på commons. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 22:32, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Om vi tar namnet Category:Southerly Clubs Image Archives så omfattar det CabarEng (som har Lars Jacobs arkiv) och FamSAC som är underorganisationer till SoCl (se gärna www.southerlyclubs.com), och då kan alla bilder komma med som jag har rätt att lägga ut. Toppen! Det kommer inte så mycket mer för vi har redan gett ifrån oss nästan allt om kända personer och företeelser ur alla berörda arkiv, men betr FamSAC är det bra att de är med för det är ett släktregister över 6000 pers och där kan det komma in fler relevanta bilder framledes än de 6 som jag laddat upp nu. OK, Truedson Demitz hade jag också sett via google, men inte wikipediasidan. Jag ska läsa. Jag har ett första förslag här: User:Pieter Kuiper/Template:Lars Jacob Prod. Den lägger allt i rätt kategori. Färgerna kommer från en annan mall, och du får leta fram en mer passande bild. Finns det en logga, eller ska man ta bilden på Lars Jacob? Det här blir bara roligare och roligare och jag tror att berörda potentater kommer gilla det. Det finns en väldigt fin officiell bild för SoCl som jag kan ladda upp eller e-posta till dig. Den finns även på SoCl nätplats (s k "hemsida") som du fick URL till ovan, men ta inte den för text ska vara med på den riktiga. FamSAC har egen fana och logga som är fin. Betr en LJP-bild får jag höra mig för. Mer om detta under närmaste dagar. Går det att ändra namn på själva bildfilerna så man kanske kan ha efternamn eller årtal först för sorteringens skull? Bra förslag, jag har ändrat mallens text. Jag har tagit bort den inbyggda kategoriseringen, för jag tror att det är bättre att ha de olika samlingarna i olika kategorier. Den tidigare texten skrev jag in i Category:Lars Jacob Prod's photo archive. Om du vill ha något annat där (eller ingenting), kan du lätt ändra. Samma för {{Southerly Clubs}}. Mallen kan änvändas på olika ställen i bildbeskrivningen, se Image:Johanna Lind.jpg för ett exempel. Som fräckis gör du väldigt fint tycker vi! Fantastiskt roligt att nu sätta sig ned och ta in det här snygga och rejäla på varje bildsida samt lägga till fler uppgifter som du ser att jag gör om du tittar på kategorien och de bilder jag åtgärdat hittills. Två frågor:

(1) Går det att ta bort den första kategorin? Eftersom jag lägger in alla på den nya (SoCl) så behövs inte den första (LJP). Jag lyckades flytta över bilderna. Du får gärna aktivera autotjosan vad det nu var dit igen, till nya alltså. Och vill vi senare ha underavd. så förstår jag att det går att fixa då.

(2) Jag la först upp 27 bilder till de engelska artiklarna på EnW, har sedan fått lägga upp alla igen på Commons eftersom SvW inte tog emot dem annars. You learn the hard way. Vet du hur man raderar det första exemplaret på EnW så att bara våra fina Commonsbilder finns kvar? Inte försvinner väl bilderna då från artiklarna - det är ju exakt samma namn och bild på dem.

Sist ber jag dig lägga till "(Template by Pieter Kuiper Nov. 1, 2008.)" efter "... Domain." alltså sist i rutan på mallen, så att det syns vem som varit Southerly Clubs så behjälplig, om du vill. Vi vill även erbjuda dig gratis medlemskap i CabarEng och kan skicka dig en ansökan eller bjuda dig på fika på Billströms Folkungagatan närsomhelst. Det räcker bra att jag står i history för template (och jag glömde skriva var jag hade snott koden ifrån). Det är synd att jag är så sällan i Stockholm, man det skulle vara trevligt att träffas! Jag har föreslagit den tomma kategorin för radering, så den försvinner säkert snart. Och jag tog bort dess kategorisering, så att den inte syns någonstans längre. På en:Image:Johanna Lind.jpg har jag lagt in en mall "NowCommons", och den kommer nog ocksa att raderas snart. Du kan göra på samma sätt med andra dubletter. Jag återgår till vä marginal

Du är för ödmjuk, men i så fall, är det konsensus hos oss att du kan skriva in detta efter "... Domain." om det går: "Deputy Chairman: Emil Eikner, November 1, 2008." Eller kan det vara läskigt att sätta ut sitt namn där pånåsätt? Jag fixar och grejar även med mallen now commons. Tycker allt blir jättebra, men vad vet man? Hej Emil, förlåt, jag hade missat din fråga. Det är nog bäst om du ändrar mallen själv, det är enkelt att ändra texten av User:EmilEikS/Template:Southerly Clubs. Jag har aldrig havt IRL problem med att att använda mitt eget namn, det är inte så farligt som vissa tror. Jag är inte särskilt ödmjuk (tycker faktiskt inte att ödmjukhet är en så väldigt positiv egenskap), men mitt namn ska inte finnas i mallen, det räcker mer än väl med redigeringshistoriken. Jag ser nu 66 bilder i kategorin, jättefina! Kategoriseringen behöver inte vara automatisk, det är nog bättre att inte bygga in det i mallen. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 19:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hej Emil! Jag ser med glädje att du fortsätter ladda upp intressanta bilder, trots att du tydligen törnat in i konflikter på engelska Wikipedia, där det står att du har övergivit ditt konto. Jag undersöker hur svenska nybörjare blir bemötta på Wikipedia och här på bildarkivet Wikimedia Commons. Mycket handlar om att folk gör enkla misstag och sedan blir de utskällda på ett främmande språk som de inte riktigt begriper. Men missförstånden slutar inte där. När jag tittade på din användarsida så blev jag lite förbryllad, för du kallar dig ju EmilEikS, men på användarsidan står inte att du är personen Emil utan att du är en klubb, som hör hemma i Stockholm, men som anges med ett engelskt namn. Detta är tillräckligt förvirrande. På min användarsida skriver jag att jag heter Lars och så är det en bild på mig. Sedan kanske jag företräder olika föreningar, men användarsidan handlar om mig som person. Sedan hänvisar du till att Southerly Clubs företräder rättigheterna för Lars Jacob Prod. Är detta en person eller ett bolag? Jag känner ingen som heter Prod i efternamn. Ska det vara en förkortning för "Productions"? Det finns inte heller någon artikel om Lars Jacob Prod. Detta borde förklaras. Någon som tagit så många intressanta foton borde ju vara en känd fotograf. Så om jag ska sammanfatta mina råd: 1) Förklara på din användarsida vilka språk du helst kommunicerar med, t.ex. genom att skriva in {{babel|sv|en-2}}, 2) Inled användarsidan med att berätta vem du (Emil Eikner) är, och låt klubben och ditt uppladdningsprojekt komma i andra hand, 3) Berätta lite mer om denne fascinerande Lars Jacob och hans öde. Tack för dina vänliga ord! Jag har engelskan och svenskan som jämnbördiga. Ser det illa ut med engelskan på min svenska sida? Jag loggade först in på EnW som bara EmilEik, men det gick inte att använda på SvW så då tillkom EmilEikS. Se en:Lars Jacob om honom. Firman hette tydligen med "Prod" inte Productions eller Products eller Producer. Han har även gett ut sin bok under Ristesson "Ent" inte Enterprises eller Entertainment. Du kanske vill skriva något på sv om honom eller om du känner någon annan Wikiexpert som vill det. Jag får inte göra det. Mer än så kan jag inte säga. Och nog om mig. Det som står där om mig får räcka. Mitt berättigande i detta sammanhang är som v ordf för Southerly Clubs som är en förening med säte på Östgötagatan 26 i Sthlm. Kanske en dag vinner jag fler sjacktävlingar eller blir någon av mina små engelskspråkiga kabaréer känd. Vi får väl se? Låter någon annan avgöra sådant. Det är faktiskt bildprojektet som är huvudsaken här på Wikimedia plus ett 40-tal nya artiklar på en och sv som jag nu är klar med. Tack för länken till Lars Jacob, mycket intressant läsning! Mina råd om användarpresentationen var tänkta att förebygga den sorts konflikt du hamnade i på engelska Wikipedia. Ta skolexemplet User:Stickpen, som skriver att han tar medelmåttiga bilder av växter och försöker så gott han kan att klassificera dem. Sedan kommer en lång lista på de mest utsökta växtbilder, som talar för sig själva. Men efter den inledningen kan ingen bli arg på honom. Detta är något helt normalt. Alla webbsidor mellanlagras (cachas) i servern, kortare eller längre tid, för att spara på resurser. Därför uppstår en fördröjning innan ändringar slår igenom. Ibland går det över om man laddar om sidan i webbläsaren. Som en sista utväg kan man hänga på ?action=purge efter sidans adress, då töms mellanlagret och sidan ritas om. --LA2 (talk) 04:59, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Bäste Lars! Du har nu lärt mig något mycket värdefullt, och på ett trevligt sätt, med detta "?action=purge". Stort tack! Here's another one for you. I natt när jag satt som bäst och laddade upp fler bilder, i den samling på något hundratal till som ska med på "vår" arkivkategori Category:Southerly Clubs Image Archives, började plötsligt de senast uppladdade bilderna synas på sidan först, inte i alfaordning som vi vill ha dem. Satte upp en fråga på Village pump och fick reda på att just då slog en ändring igenom som döpte om samtliga Commons' bilder från "Image:..." till "File:...". File kommer alltså före Image alfabetiskt och nu syns alla bilderna uppladdade till det nya namnformatet i en egen avdelning först, medan alla de äldre, som visserligen också har döpts om, ligger kvar nedtill. Tror du hela sidan någonsin kommer att alfabetiseras ordentligt igen utan något särskilt ingrepp av en expert, exempelvis dig? EmilEikS (talk) 17:03, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Visst är det lustiga huset vi lever i, där allting ändrar sig och gungar. Alla Image: kommer att döpas om till File: och det är månadens stora förändring. Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]

[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Isa Quensel-bilden

Hej där! (svarar här också, utifall du inte håller koll på min sida =)) Nope, har inte hört ett ljud om denna Isa Quensel-bild (och det är ju ändå jag som lagt upp den). Har laddat upp massvis av liknande typer av bilder på commons (press/publicitetsbilder på äldre svenska skådespelare, tagna före 1969) och det har gått bra. Har inte hört ett ljud om någon av de andra bilderna heller. Och angående "source": Vad jag vet om bilden är att det är en publicitetsbild, ett sk. publicitetsfoto, som stjärnorna på den tiden själv såg till att ha upptryckt och skickade ut till fansen och press..: dvs. den är till för presspublicering och promotion.. (!) och den är definitivt före 1969.. Innan jag själv lade upp den på commons så beskar jag den också en del själv eftersom fotot (som jag hittade på Tradera.se) längre ner hade en autograf och en skriven hälsning från Isa. Detta rör sig alltså om ett tydligt publicitetsfoto, som är taget för att representera & "marknadsföra" stjärnan ifråga i rollen som skådespelare i olika sammanhang (och jag kan inte tänka mig att det i något fall, när en bild har ett sådant syfte, skulle vara fel att publicera i en biografi på en Encyklopedi som Wikipedian ju här är eller för att representera skådespelarens sida+filmarbete på en sida som t.ex Filmtipset). Det är ju taget i syfte att marknadsföra stjärnan. Självklart skulle jag skrivit ut fotografens namn om det var känt för mig. Men det står ju: "The photographer, if known, should always be attributed". Något sådant är dock svårt att göra när bilden inte lämnar uppgifter om detta... :/ (och det står inget i licensen om att man absolut INTE får publicera utan fotografs namn, bara att så långt det går ska namn & källa vara med). Men det är inget tvivel om att det är en press/publicitetsbild. Och före 1969. ( så jag förstår faktiskt inte "problemet" med bilden..). Hi Emil - thanks for the note! I just looked, there isn't even a Cat:People with trees, let alone a Cat:People with oaks. I think 'with trees' would be a better idea, as the tree identity is not a very significant factor in the photo (and I'm not certain that all the trees are oaks either, that's the main reason I removed Cat:Quercus). If you want to make Cat:People with trees, please do, or I can make it later today (I'll be away from my computer for a bit just now) - MPF (talk) 08:59, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

As you know, we all perceive photos differently and I think those huge trunks and branches of oak (they all are), dwarfing the little Swedish couple visiting Illinois, really make the photo. Done! I found an existing category "People in trees" with just a very small number of files, moved it to Category:People with trees, and added your photo to it. The two big trees in your photo could well be oaks, but there are other possibilities in N America; the bark reminds me of Liriodendron tulipifera, which can also be a very large tree (to 50m tall and 2m trunk diameter) and is common in that part of N America. - MPF (talk) 13:32, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

Howdy. Just wondering if you've any info besides Royalty Guide that state that the person is the painting isn't Catherine of Saxe-Lauenburg? I found this website that has it as her... Too many sources to list. Even this site states - at the end - that the portrait "could also be of Sophia". It should not appear there the way it does now. The text on the painting is considered incorrect, applied much later. There is a similar problem with a portrait of Sophia's sister Elizabeth, wrongly identified and texted as Quen Catherine Månsdotter (1568). The Stockholm royal palace burned down in 1697, making all these things more difficult. The only certain portrait of Catherine is her grave sculpture (see Category:Queens of Sweden).
