Average map[edit]

Would anyone object to me replacing the dated world bank map with one showing countries above and below the world average gdp ppp per capita? Sbw01f (talk) 15:22, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest creating a new article for this. Maybe 2 seperate ones for nominal and PPP or both combined in one article. bsrboy 16:26, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Updated your maps[edit]

Hi there! I updated two of your maps: "World map showing Gini coefficient" and "World map showing developed, in transition, developing and least developed countries"

Justification:

-1st Map: Wikipedia's USA article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_states)

-2nd Map: Wikipedia's article about the economy of Mexico (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Mexico), and the source you used (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/appendix/appendix-b.html) both state that Mexico is a "Developing Economy", as well as Wikipedia's Developing Country article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Developing_nation).

Cheers! Psau 06:28, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Israel is red... there is no 60% people live in poverty in Israel.. check it again. it's something like 20% maybe.. 83.130.85.58 12:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, thanks for pointing that out. Sbw01f 13:33, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is something wrong with Estonia, never before have I heard that Estonia is less democratic than Latvia (or Russia!). It should be the lightest colour, the same as for Finland and Lithuania. 90.191.200.134 17:39, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The map is based on the source, which does say that Estonia is less democratic than Russia and Latvia (unless I made a mistake, I'll double check.) Sbw01f (talk) 23:32, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I like this map and it is linked in en:major depressive disorder, currently a featured article candidate. I was wondering whether the colours could be rearranged into some sort of spectrum - red is ususally severe, so would shades of red through pink or orange be better? The colour relationship to severity isn't obvious when you look at it. Casliber (talk) 05:23, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great Work![edit]

Hello,

Great work with your maps. I'm writing to ask if I could use your maps as illustrations in an academic research paper I'm writing. I know that they are copyrighted under open source but I need to ask anyway. I would also like to cite you as a source in my reference section so I need a last name and first initial if you wouldn't mind. Hope to hear from you. Again, great work!

Respectfully,

A. Poincot

Go right ahead. Sbw01f (talk) 14:12, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

hello, in you GDP maps are the amounts on the left actually in thousands? or are they shortened to? It may seem like a sort of dumb-founded question but i apologize. Im just curious.

Thank You![edit]

This work is great and adds a lot to many articles. Keep it up!

Hello, Dwrcan!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

[[Category:Category name]]

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Please, update this map[edit]

Unless update it for not to contradict the article itself (see the "population living under poverty line" list), since Argentina's population under poverty line according to national standards is 13,9% of the population (I myself updated the list with second semester of 2009 data of 13.2, but you can see the previous version if you want), far from the 20%-30% of the map. Thank you in advance. 190.48.121.237 05:53, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Index of Economic Freedom[edit]

Index of Economic Freedom : I have transferred the 2010 map to a separate 2010 file, and reverted to the 2009 map in the 2009 file. So your work is preserved, and each file has the right title. Baronnet (talk) 10:03, 19 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
