IMAGENS[edit]

Alessandro Sil (talk) 17:58, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

WLM 2016[edit]

Hi,

Could you update tools.wmflabs.org/wikiloves/ as WLM 2016 just began.

Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 07:21, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@VIGNERON: Jean-Frédéric has already updated the config page.
@Jean-Frédéric: the tool automatic read the config page and update the database every day at 23:56 (UTC), it is programed in cron. I added you as tool maintainer, thank you for help to keep the config page updated, if you need help about the tool I am every day at #wikilovesearth, #wikilovesmonuments and #wikipedia-pt channels in IRC. @Danilo.mac: Thanks for adding me as a maintainer! Really appreciate it. I took the liberty to re-trigger the update to see if I had everything right :)
I did update the the config page, but I don’t guarantee correctness! I think I got all the participating countries right, but the start and end dates might definitely be off (in particular for the new countries) − so anyone should feel free to have a look (cc @VIGNERON:  ;)).

Thank you! Ooups, sorry, I didn't see the config page, I could have done it myself (I know a bit around tech but not enough to be add as maintainers Clin). @Jean-Frédéric: it seems right but I'll check the dates tomorrow . Cdlt, VIGNERON (talk) 20:07, 1 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Jean-Frédéric: ,@Danilo.mac: , I updated the dates in the config file according to [1] but that may not be authoritative after all. I will follow up.

Two questions about the script:
  1. I see WLM and Earth contests are in the script. If I want to add data for Wiki Loves Africa, does the script need to be updated first?
  2. Adding start/end times is quite tedious, and error-prone. How about this: if a start/end date/time is only YYYYMMDD the script will calculate proper start/end minute from DefaultUTC (also in the config file). So only exceptions would be fully specified in 14 digit string?

@Erik Zachte: Hi. I developed the tool only for WLM and WLE, it needs very many changes to make the tool allow other types of Wiki Loves competitions. Regarding the defaultUTC, I thought in this when I put that table in the config file, but I didn't implemented this, and unfortunately I don't know when I will have time to develop this, I ping you when I implement this function. Danilo.mac(discussão) 15:58, 30 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Danilo.mac: Glad to hear you already considered the shorter timestamps. Too bad for hindrances for adding other contests. Is that mostly code updates or config data? Because I would gladly input the config data for Wiki Loves Africa myself. Cheers, Erik Zachte (talk) 21:27, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Erik Zachte: It is mostly code updates. Danilo.mac(discussão) 14:40, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Erik Zachte and Danilo.mac: I gave it a try on https://github.com/ptwikis/wikiloves/pull/4. Hope that helps! :) Jean-Fred (talk) 20:23, 10 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Danilo.mac and Jean-Frédéric: This is wonderful. Thanks much! I added config data for WLA yesterday. Erik Zachte (talk) 08:00, 12 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Click here to vote now!

Thanks,
the Wikimedia Commons Picture of the Year committee
