Category discussion warning

Category:LGBT_in_the_Americas has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

bias in Venezuela[edit]

Venezuela still has a split government. When you solve the crisis, you can edit files to reflect the new reality. Until then, you need to reflect current reality. Kwamikagami (talk) 20:40, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not edit war[edit]

Deutsch  English  français  italiano  magyar  português  sicilianu  русский  日本語  +/−

You currently appear to be participating in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, and once it is known that there is a disagreement should discuss the issues on the relevant talk page rather than repeatedly undoing other users’ contributions. If necessary you can ask for more input at Commons:Dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to ask for temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing – even if you are right about the content issue.

Why is it an edit war? I added the section "Sources" with all the links to all laws and sentences related to same-sex marriage. There are news about an Armenian Minister saying that they recognize same-sex marriage. They say that there is no recognition, but they only say that there are no cases. But having no cases does not imply that it is not legal. In Ecuador took more than a year for a couple to perform a civil union, and it did not mean that it was not legal. Everything can be read in the sources. --DaddyCell (talk) 10:49, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If it were the supreme court, that would be fine. But a minister can be overridden, or change his mind. E.g. the president of Haiti decreed SSM in that country, but it doesn't seem to have ever happened. So absent some further evidence (below), I have to agree that we don't know that this is happening or even can happen.
BTW, I'd also like to get Romania straightened out. Yes, the EU case addressed Romania specifically, but then they said they'd refuse to abide by it. Not sure how different that is from other lavender EU states. Kwamikagami (talk) 21:39, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

SSM recognition in Armenia[edit]

Hi DC,

If you're in contact with Pink Armenia, perhaps you could suggest they contact a news outlet like PinkNews or the blog at equalityontrial.com? Unless they have a website they can post on. If that happens, we should be able to cite it as justification for returning Armenia to the map. Kwamikagami (talk) 21:36, 19 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

CU's in South America[edit]

I changed Bolivia to blue for consistency with our other maps. IMO we need more participation in the discussion, presumably on the world SSM map, to establish what's going on here and whether Bolivia should be blue or just have a blue ring. Please see talk there for recent CU's granted. I appear to be the only one trying to keep our maps consistent but I'm not qualified to make this judgement call. If there's consensus that Bolivia only deserves a ring, then I'll make the same change on all maps unless someone beats me to it. Kwamikagami (talk) 19:43, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:World marriage-equality laws.svg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

About my previous message, in the Spanish version of the Same-sex marriage in Mexico article (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matrimonio_entre_personas_del_mismo_sexo_en_M%C3%A9xico#Uni%C3%B3n_civil), I did a table about the legal situation in each Mexican federal entity related to the same-sex civil union / concubinage. Please check the sources (links to the respective legislation) and notes.
As I said, the map should be updated.
