Hi Túrelio, yes. All "fj"-translations should have been "nl"-translations. While translating I didn't notice that I was on the wrong language-site. --Brackenheim (talk) 22:11, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
@Túrelio: page history shows only Brackenheim has worked on the page and fj is Fiji, but clearly the page is Dutch and Brackenheim has since created Commons:Picture of the Year/2017/nl. It seems confusing but deleting the fj page is probably indeed the right way to go. - Alexis Jazz 23:24, 3 February 2018 (UTC)

Looks like one of the image moves I asked for somehow broke the link to the image data.

Looks like something went awry during the move to "File:Panhard & Levassor, 1900 - Flickr - granada turnier.jpg", since the image does not show up as it should, and following the image link gives a 404 error.

Not sure if there's anything I should do to correct this, such as reuploading the image, or whether this is something that should be corrected by Commons administrators. Do I need to report this?

Huh, problem seems to have solved itself. Eventually I decided to try re-uploading the file myself as a workaround. That failed, because the Upload page detected that the new file was an exact duplicate of the existing one and refused to allow a new upload. However, somehow whatever inconsistent state the back end had gotten into became "unwedged" after I tried that. I do not know if this was a consequence of my failed re-upload attempt, the result of my clicking the page's "Generate thumbnail" link, or just coincidence, but I had checked the page again (with a Purge, etc.) before trying the re-upload, so the timing is interesting. Hallo Hystrix, das ist komisch, hätte nicht passieren sollen. Eigentlich war die Seite nicht zum Übersetzen freigegeben und hätte daher ganz normal gelöscht werden können. Dachte ich zumindest ... Round 2 of Picture of the Year 2017 is open!

You are receiving this message because you voted in R1 of the 2017 Picture of the Year contest, but not yet in R2.

Dear Brackenheim,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the second round of the 2017 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the twelfth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2017) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year were entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

There are two total rounds of voting. In the first round, you voted for as many images as you liked. In Round 1, there were 1475 candidate images. There are 58 finalists in Round 2, comprised of the top 30 overall as well as the top 2 from each sub-category.

In the final round, you may vote for a maximum of three images. The image with the most votes will become the Picture of the Year 2017.

Round 2 will end on 22 July 2018, 23:59 UTC.

move back files (renaming guidelines)

Hi, could you move back File:Festivalgelände - G.O.N.D - 5DS R - 18.jpg and File:Festivalgelände - G.O.N.D - 5DS R - 22.jpg please?

The move requests did not comply with renaming guidelines. The former filenames were neither meaningless nor ambiguous (as claimed by the user who made the requests, who is currently blocked). In contrast, the new filenames are less specific. Especially year/date information were removed from the filenames, and Rawpic's consistent naming scheme for many related images was changed for only these two images, see Category:Festivalgelände - G.O.N.D. 2018. Why there was a change in my filenaming scheme? it's absolutly clear: Category - [year][julian_day][hhmmss] [my internal filename]
due to shooting with different bodies. to make sure all pics are in the correct timeline. please leave my filenames as they are uploaded.--Rawpic (talk) 20:37, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

I am writing to let you know that this is not working properly when one browses page in language X but has set language Y in user preferences. E.g. I have set Polish in preferences and on the French page/translation I can see "Semaine 1 : 30 października 2017" – 1st part in French , 2nd in Polish. --jdx Re: 23:22, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
