Add some infos[edit]

At fr:Village de Séraphin, we need to add an external link just bottom of "Liens externes" section like that (see text source to copy it):

The same link is currently added at en:Village de Séraphin.

Thank you.--2A0D:5600:43:4000:0:0:0:A541 16:36, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've cropped the image to remove blank space. However, for the edits on the Village de Séraphin pages, since you're specifically requesting new external links, I would recommend creating an account and editing those pages, yourself. — Bacon Noodles (talkcontribsuploads) 16:57, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine animated.gif[edit]

I wanted to point out that a part of the changes seen in the gif from 18th to 26th March showing Russian occupied territory in the north expand before shrinking (specifically around Shotska) is inaccurate. There was some Russian bot accounts who kept edit warring for those changes in that time before being blocked en masse, it would be best to skip the versions showing the extended Russian control of the north in that period in the next update. Thanks. Viewsridge (talk) 10:27, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Viewsridge: Regarding the choice of positions/frames, I selected ones which were not reverted (in the source map) and were in place, at the end of the day. For the most part, although your concerns are well within reason, the animation is mostly a general illustration with days shown for less than a second each, as opposed to the detailed standings of the main SVG map, and the limited resolution would be unlikely to overly emphasise minor movements around the line of control. If you'd like to specifically let me know which individual days need changing and which file version(s) you think should be used instead, I'd be more than happy to replace them and upload a new version, it would not be a hassle. — Bacon Noodles (talkcontribsuploads) 18:14, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think the changes from 18th to 26th of March should be removed. Instead being replaced with a still image for each passing day of the 18th March revision. There was a confusion around the town of Shotska at the time, but as it turned out, it was never captured. Viewsridge (talk) 10:42, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Viewsridge: What I've done in the latest revision is, instead of a single still image that would exclude changes in the Donbas, I've modified the specific days to exclude major changes in the north east - which may not be an exact match to what the situation was because I used maps from 17 March and 27 March (a 10-day gap). Also, as I'm not sure which date Chernihiv was completely encircled, the updated animation shows it from 25 March); if it was earlier/later, it's an easy fix, but just needs confirmation. Again, since it's just a general illustration, so it's not urgent urgent, but anything particularly substantial can be still updated. — Bacon Noodles (talkcontribsuploads) 18:47, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That looks good, thanks. Viewsridge (talk) 19:02, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine animated.gif, Again[edit]

Hello! I am updating the colors of this animation to make them match the current color scheme of the regular map. You created modified frames from March 18th to March 26th, which I don't have access to. I need them so I can update their colors. Could you please upload the .svg files for those frames so I can update them? Please upload them in this name format, "2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraine animation F(number).svg". The frames in question are 23 to 31, so the files in order should be F23, F24, etc. to F31. I have already updated the colors for the rest of the animations frames. Many thanks!--Physeters 10:48, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and why is your entire talk page an archive? Is that a mistake? Physeters 11:02, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I moved over the automated things, like deletion requests, but there was also some random guy who kept changing IP (even though the trackers show it as being in a similar place; check page history, it'll be clear which it is) then removing the message he/she/it posted. It wasn't a rude message, it was just a request to crop an image and add an image to another page, which was just slightly random. — Bacon Noodles (talkcontribsuploads) 17:11, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Physeters: Hello, I only have the modified frames in bitmap format because the animation didn't require an SVG version. Essentially, for the most part, to recreate it, the boundaries for the north-west were kept from March 17th until March 24, then included changed slightly to show Chernihiv encircled from the map on that day - until 27 March, when it resumed being the same as the source file. (Also, see the previous section above because it's when the deviations were added.) If it'd help, I can tell you which specific revisions were used; the website I used to compile the gif can also separate frames, if that would help at all because I'd prefer not to upload them as separate files. Depending on your software, if you're going to make another .gif, it may just be a matter of selecting the areas and changing the hue slightly, which is what I was going to do for those days. If you've got Inkscape or something similar, I think it'd only need some slight manual tweaks to match it, it's only 10 frames. — Bacon Noodles (talkcontribsuploads) 17:11, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks. I'll just recreate them in Inkscape, and convert them back to .pngs when I compile the .gif. Physeters 18:09, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
