Image:Jena - botanical garden 06 (aka).jpg

I have recently taken on the task of sorting through the Quality Image candidates that get the support of someone or another. It seemed as if only a few people were doing that not so little but not so big job that it was not so difficult for me to think that the regulars might want a break from it.

I mention this now because while performing the task, occasionally it is very interesting to find a location on english wikipedia (the language that I understand the most) for some of my favorite images that me and others put into that little 'holding' area.

The 'supported' images there get put into two galleries and one category. There is the Commons:Quality Images which shows four images for each category and the individual galleries which have links on Commons:Quality Images and also at the upper portion of Commons:Quality_Images/Recently_promoted. Those are galleries of mostly really great images and it is cool to have an image (or a dozen images in one day) placed there, blah blah blah....

I jumped the process with Image:Jena - botanical garden 06 (aka).jpg and checked to see if it could be used on English Wikipedia and this is what I found: en:Jena#Museums. The image that is there already is kind of cooler than the gazebo is (I am simply not a big fan of gazebo).

Here is the point to the long tour of what is in my mind about QI photographs. It would be nice to have an article for more photographs to find a use other than being sent to a gallery where some people know they are there and some people don't. If I were planning a vacation in Germany, I would not look at the Quality Images galleries for ideas of where to visit.

If it is a secret, then perhaps images of it should not be placed in any public galleries, even galleries intended for Quality Images.

The short of it is, do you know anyone who can write in English and tolerate the aggressive editors at english wikipedia and make an article about the Botanical Garden there? Thanks -- carol 07:22, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

There is a good german article about the botanical garden in Jena: de:Botanischer Garten Jena, so it is not really true that the image is not used beside in the quality image gallery ;-) Maybe someone will translate this article into english somedays .. -- aka 08:15, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Image:Nikon D200 front (aka).jpg

While sorting through the promoted QI candidates, I took a few extra minutes to look for the exif information for Image:Nikon D200 front (aka).jpg. I personally find most photographs of cameras to be not the most exciting images that exist -- I tried to take a photograph of my camera in a mint tin once but the dark lighting of the grocery store where I was able to get two of these cameras together made the photograph not so good. My camera did not fit into the mint tin and that is obvious in the photograph at least.

The exif information for this image though, I was looking for a quick laugh in the case that it had been taken by any other brand. I was sorry to see that the information had been stripped from the image. -- carol 08:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Hallo, na die Begründung für den Löschantrag ist "Elements of the display may be enough to qualify it as an artistic work - i.e. the text, the arrangement, etc.". Darüber kann man diskutieren, aber ich glaube kaum, dass das Bild mit dieser Begründung gelöscht wird. Hilfestellung bei Aufräumarbeit

Hallo Aka, da auf Commons doch einiges an Aufräumarbeit zu geben scheint, habe ich mich entschlossen etwas mitzuhelfen. Bei dem Bild Image:Letras_bilingües.jpg bin ich mir über die weitere Vorgehensweise unsicher, mir fehlt da die Genehmigung des TV-Senders, auch wenn der Uploader scheinbar die Band vertritt. So habe ich es ihm auch auf meiner Disk.-seite versucht klar zu machen. Soll ich das Permission-babel wieder reinsetzen oder kann man dafür Spanier ansprechen die die Bildbeschreibung auch lesen könnten. --Kolossos 18:33, 15 February 2008 (UTC)

Diskriminierung von Administrator

"User:Polarlys" tut mir meine Seite hier ständig löschen, obwohl ich da einen Text von mir da Hereingeschrieben hab. Dann habe ich eine Liste mit Links eingefügt und der kommt mir Kopiergeschützte Werke an, um mit dieser Seite Unfug anzustellen. Der hat die geschützt, obwohl ich da 'reingeschrieben habe, dass ich selber jeder hier editieren darf. Dann habe ich den aufgefrordert das rückgängig zu machen und der hat es nicht gemacht. Das ist Vandalismus! Ich habe gegen keine Regel verstoßen. Nun hat der mich gauf meiner eigenen Benutzerseite gesperrt, obwohl ich nur meinen eigenen Text da hereingeschrieben habe!!!--The User 09:03, 20 March 2008 (UTC)

Der Nutzer, der hier in der Vergangenheit übrigens hunderte Urheberrechtsverletzungen reingestellt hat, aufgrund von „hate speech“, persönlichen Angriffen und ideologisch verbrämter Arbeitsweise auf en.wikipedia.org und de.wikipedia.org wiederholt gesperrt wurde (mit einer ganzen Armada von Sockenpuppen), der TU und SLUB Dresden mehrere Abuse-Meldungen eingebracht hat, hat Texte von ard.de kopiert und war zudem mal wieder in seiner „In-der-BRD-wird-gedopt-während-unsere-heldenhaften-DDR-Athleten-inklusive-die-Schwimmerinnen-mit-den-Bärten-ihre-Medaillien-ohne Doping-gewonnen-haben“-Mission unterwegs. Peinlich

Hallo Aka, leider ist es mir passiert, dass ich mich bereits mit 2 Benutzernamen auf den Commons angemeldet habe. Unter user:PatDi habe ich mich schon vor geraumer Zeit registriert, und nun vor ~ 1 - 2 Monaten unter dem Namen user:PatDin, nachdem ich den ursprünglichen Benutzer nicht einloggen konnte. Nun hab ich doch wieder Zugriff auf user:PatDi, somit wollte ich fragen, ob man die Benutzer nicht zusammenlegen könnte? user:PatDi wäre mir natürlich am liebsten, da ich außer auf :en überall wo ich vertreten bin (vorallem de) unter PatDi vertreten bin. Fotos Cornelia Schleime

Hallo Andre, Cornelia Schleime hat sich wegen Deiner Fotos, die Du hier von ihr zur Verfügung stellst, per E-Mail an mich gewandt. Sie möchte nicht, daß Fotos, die nicht von ihr autorisiert sind, über die Wikipedia frei im Netz stehen. Ich hatte selbst mal einige sehr gute Fotos von ihr gemacht, die sie aber auch nicht veröffentlicht haben wollte. Auch wenn ich dies bezogen auf die sehr guten Fotos bedauerlich fand, so konnte ich dies aber nachvollziehen, da die Fotos mit den Wiki-Lizenzen ja frei auch für eine kommerzielle Nutzung sind (z.B. Buchproduktion, oder Postkarte u.a.).

Cornelia Schleime bittet darum, daß Deine Fotos, die inzwischen ja über die Suchmaschinen alle zu ihrem Namen mehrfach im Netz präsent sind, wieder gelöscht werden. Ich hoffe, Du kannst ihre Probleme nachvollziehen und bist damit einverstanden. ich habe hoffentlich berechtigter Weise Dein Bild: Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsteinii' - blossom side (aka).jpg als Starter meiner Website http://www.ganzheitlich-gesunden.de eingesetzt. Eine wunderschöne Aufnahme.

Da ich meine Praxis erst eröffnet habe ist nun eine gedruckte Broschüre notwendig.Für diese würde ich dieses Bild gerne in einer Auflösung von mindestens 300 dpi bei 15 cm Breite verwenden. Ist es möglich ein Bild in einer solch hohen Auflösung zubekommen?

Ich würde mich sehr über eine Antwort freuen.

@ Georg962991: Da dieses Bild unter der Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 2.5 Lizenz lizensiert ist, kannst du damit machen was du willst, solange die Lizenzbedingungen einhältst. Auf http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.5/deed.de sind die genauen Lizenzbedingungen zu finden.

In kürze:
1) Namensnennung (da muss Aka sagen ob er lieber André Karwath oder Aka lieber hat)
2) Share Alike (ist in dem Fall nicht so wichtig, weil du es in dem sinne nicht bearbeitet hast) (Du darfst, sofern du dieses Bild bearbeitest oder es irgendwie anders verwendest, "das neu entstandene Werk nur unter Verwendung von Lizenzbedingungen weitergeben, die mit denen dieses Lizenzvertrages identisch oder vergleichbar sind"; welches hier cc-by-sa-2.5 wäre)

Ich hab jetzt keine Namensnennung gefunden. Ich würde so machen, dass du neben dem Photo Aka als Autor angibts (mit entsprechender Verlinkung auf seine Benutzerseite). Category:Apple seeds

Hi Aka - what is your objection to this category? There are enough photos to make it worthwhile, and it also makes the photos linked from Category:Seeds as well as Category:Apple. But if you don't plan to promote imperialism, why do you still do so? Please at the very least, put standard scientific measures first. But preferably only scientific measures. The small minority who can't cope with standard measures can find a converter to look them up, without having to bother the rest of us with thier stuff. As of en:Inch, the inch is usually the universal unit of measurement in the United States, and is occasionally used in Canada and the United Kingdom. I just thought that would be a good idea to use these measures additionally.
