Bot too fast

Der betroffene Benutzer (User:Qualle) hat hunderte, ausschließlich selbst geschossene Bilder in immer gleicher Qualität hochgeladen, und nur weil da nicht nochmal "Author: User:XY" druntersteht, muss das Bild nicht gleich im Papierkorb verschwinden. Copyright violation-Groteske !! Habe nicht verstanden, warum das von mir up-geloadete Foto (1893 !!!!) gelöscht wurde!! es befindet sich nach meinem Wissen nur noch in meinem Besitz. Wollt ihr ernstahft ,dass unwiderbringliche einmalige Quellen einfach verlorengehen. Nach meinem baldigen Ableben wandert das endgültig in den Papierkorb. Wie könnt ihr erwarten, dass der Fotograph eines Schnappschusses vor 110 Jahren noch auffindbar ist. Wirkt alles wie hochgradige Schikane oder Paragraphenreiterei.?? Commons Photography Guide

Hello ABF,

I created a page titled "Photography Guide Project Alpha" for purposes of writing a Commons guide sharing photographic knowledge on various subjects. Unfortunately, this page had no media files on it yet and appears to be deleted. It will certainly have a lot of media files later on illustrating various subjects and techniques, but as this is rather new idea, this effort is still on stage where persons interested in writing sections are looked for. However, I think the foundation page is sorely needed, as without such page, sections are rather hard to divide between Commons contributors.

I was wondering if you could restore the page? After all, it took a while to write up the structure, which is now missing. And if the page cannot be created in name space where it was, could you please restore it to another name space? Not having the page is rather inconvenient as invitation to participate to this guide, which should be very beneficial for the whole project, has already been sent to some 10-15 contributors who have provided the project with numerous QIs and FPs. --Thermos 03:04, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

You yust could have created it in the correct namespace immedaditly, that would have been good for all. I myself could yust have moved it to commons namespace, so we both made our own mistakes. Hi. This was deleted (deleted "Image:FORGEMOL.jpg" ‎ (In category Unknown as of 11 December 2007; no license) but I believe Wikipedia has permission to use it now. I emailed the owner of the website http://www.military-photos.com and have his written permission. This assumes that he has copyright in the first place. I would like to restore/undelete the photo. Hallo ABF, ich verfolge meine Diskussionsseite hier bei Commons nicht. Ich bemerke eben erst, dass ich bei zwei meiner Bilder irgendwelche Angaben vergessen habe. Da ich die Bilder derzeit auf meinen PC nicht mehr finde, könntest du sie bitte wieder herstellen, damit ich dann die fehlenden Angaben noch machen kann? Commons ist nicht schön, weil hier alles in Englisch abläuft, obwohl ich in einem deutschsprachigen Wikipedia-Projekt tätig bin. Ich sehe ohnehin keinen Vorteil in Commons, da dies aber erwünscht ist, lade ich halt meine Bilder, Karten und Grafiken hier hoch. Man ist halt dann nur etwas frustriert, wenn einem dann so etwas vor der Nase weggelöscht wird, obwohl man einen Link auf seine eigentliche Seite, die in der deutschen Wikipedia gesesetzt hat, und mann zunächst auch immer in Englisch angesprochen wird, obwohl man einen Hinweis auf der Disk hat, dass dieser kein Englisch spricht. Bitte um Rat

Hallo, was meinst du zu diesem User? Gestern hatte ich ihn wegen dem massenweisen Uploaden von beschreibungslosen Bildchen für sechs Stunden abgeklemmt, heute hat er schon wieder Hunderte davon eingestellt, ohne dass sich ein Schwein drum kümmert, lediglich paar Bots haben ihm auf die Disku was geschrieben ohne ihn damit groß beeindruckt zu haben. Andererseits, vielleicht haben die Bildchen ja gar nicht die nötige Schöpfungshöhe, um eine Lizenz zu erfordern (?) Also was meinst du, unbeschränkt sperren oder doch gewähren lassen? Same thing for Image:CE359 wikipedia.jpg, you say there is no source while the source was given very clearly, the WC report. Hey. Did you notice User talk:Tsca#Image Tagging Image:4wiki ahonen janne.jpg before deleting this image? The image page did say "with permission", but it was missing the OTRS ticket which is here. There are lots of similar images from skijumping.pl on Category:Ski jumpers, so someone with OTRS access should verify the permission and tag the images. Prolog 14:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi, regarding this deletion request, I think the people who participated in this discussion are in error. This is not PD-ineligible, because there is an artistic choice in showing the three-dimensional aspect of the book. If this were just a 2-D representation of the cover, then PD-ineligible would apply, but the photographer had to set up the shot, put the book in a vertical position, and choose the right angle and lighting -- all of these actions entitle this photograph to copyright protection. Perhaps you would be willing to re-open this discussion so I can make this point? Thanks. howcheng {chat} 19:07, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Ich misch mich da mal ein; gerade für die Benutzer die sich mit Commons nicht so auskennen ist es sehr hilfreich wenn sie über einen link direkt zur Löschdiskussion gelangen und sehen warum "ihre" Datei gelöscht wurde. Hallo ABF, bist du so gut und hilfst mir noch einmal mit dem bug report? Angeblich soll der Fehler behoben sein, aber ich konnte gerade Image:Carlos.jpg hochladen, obwohl eigentlich gesperrt ([create=sysop]). Der Hinweis darauf das die Datei bereits früher hochgeladen und wieder gelöscht wurde kam zwar, aber der upload war trotzdem möglich. Hilfe könnt ich brauchen weil ich mich a) mit bug reports noch nie beschäftigt habe (würde man jetzt einen neuen schreiben, oder den alten bearbeiten?), und b) ich da mit meinem bischen englisch nicht irgenwas mißverständliches schreiben will. bad naming for files

Hi, thanks for your comments. I am new to Wikipedia/wikimedia and I suppose I have made several mistakes. Pictures from people, I have named as Face_john_doe. Is there an agreement on these kind of photographs? For other pictures (Calderilla coin.jpg , Pedro saenz tumba poeta.JPG) I will change the names. On the other hand, the gallery view tells me the tag Description missing. How is this possible? I see the description in the picture. I suppose I am missing something important. I added some info, since I saw this. Do not re-upload the file; instead use the "edit" tab on the image page, and directly edit the text. Do not try to upload another version; that does not affect the text on the image page. Looking at the log, that is what you are continually trying to do. Instead, go to Image:Boeing XP-7.jpg directly, and click the "edit" tab at the top of the page. At that point you can edit the text, putting in what you want (your content was mostly fine, but being put in the wrong place). Full URLs to the source page are appreciated, and also you need a license tag. "USAF" is helpful, but there are standard tags which are usually used. In this case I added {{PD-USGov-Military-Air Force}}, which is a template which expand into the proper license. You are trying to upload the image again and again, which doesn't help -- only the very first upload uses the text submitted on that form; all subsequent uploads will ignore it (except as the upload comment, shown only in the history log). Leider hat auch Wadlow1.jpg das rote "C" inne, was auf Fair Use hindeutet. Und um ein Bild gemäß PD-old verwenden zu können, muss theoretisch sichergestellt sein, dass der Fotograf seit 70 Jahren tot ist. Wenn da keine Hinweise auf die Person des Fotografen stehen, kann man aber mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit annehmen, dass dem so ist. Als Faustregel gilt für solche Fälle die Jahrhundertwende, aber so bis 1905 ist mMn auch in Ordnung. --S^[1] 18:51, 27 January 2008 (UTC)

That rationale is incorrect (as this is quite different from a screenshot). Transfer images from other Wikimedias

Hello! The IP has a history of vandalism (adding random characters, or other nonsense to pages etc.) so the block seems justified. On a similar note, Herbythyme (talk · contribs) has quite some experience with vandalism, spam and open-proxies (more than me I should think!), so you may always wish to check with him. The orgin pdf was created the same day it was publish (see pdf properties) so I suppose that it is the own work of User:Struthious Bandersnatch, probably: Tim Denby (see also pdf properties). The user published on commons nothing more. I don't have time and will to search the author around the world. If you think that there is no manner doubt that it is not his own work you can delete it. I also suppose that there are much more works that authors appeard on wiki only few times and any more (probably not interested in wiki any more or simply dead). You can deleted their works, too. Page cleaning

In a sense I agree with you & I'm going to think about oversighting the edit (may talk to Lar). However "cleaning" the page is quite easy using the enhanced undelete in gadgets (which is what I have done) as a selective restore is much easier. I just uploaded the Arch Linux log, which can be found at http://archlinux.org/art/, and it got deleted by you. Why is this? I uploaded it as Creative Commons Share Alike, as is stated on Arch Linux website. Did I perhaps not choose this particular license from the drop-down list, or is there something else I'm missing? It's a Creative Commons - Attribution, Share Alike and Non-Commercial. As it would seem to me by reading [Commons:Licensing], Non-Commercial Only and No-Derivatives licenses are the only type of licenses from Creative Commons that are forbidden. Please note that it explicitly says "Non-Commercial Only". Or is it still me that is only very confused.

What is the reason for your foolish action to block a person who is uploading a book with the commonist. that for some minutes a template is non existing, when commons is not able to save a template. Your fantastic idea causes now somme additional work. If you have has a simple glance in the picture you've seen that ist is abook printed in fraktur, and therefore is typically pd-old.
