The traffic signs on this page were used by the countries of Botswana, Eswatini (Swaziland until 2018), Lesotho, Namibia (South West Africa until 1990), and South Africa between 1970–1993. They have since been replaced by the SADC-RTSM. The transition period between these signs and those in the new SADC-RTSM has been slow, with these signs continuing to appear throughout the 2000s and to a lesser extent the 2010s as well. As these 5 countries share a customs union called SACU (Southern African Customs Union), the signs on this page will be titled "SACU road sign ... ". As information on these signs is limited and I do not have sign numbers, I will use the same sign numbers assigned to those in the SADC-RTSM page. This does not mean that all signs in the SADC-RTSM also existed in this older format. The title and numbers of these signs may change in the future dependant upon new information.
