LUA and Wikidata

This template should be rebuild as LUA module at Module:Authority control and have the option to fallback to Wikidata, see phab:T89598 (part of Commons:Structured data). Multichill (talk) 14:14, 15 February 2015 (UTC)

National Library of Medicine

{{Edit request}} Since all entries in the NLM have unique IDs and the IDs are stored in Wikidata, would it be possible to add NLM to Commons Authority control? See Q19561861 for an example. Thanks, The Haz talk 18:32, 12 March 2015 (UTC)

I created the necessary templates and subpages. I also updated the code in the sandbox and created a test case to check it. All it need now is for some admin to update it and then I can update the documentation. Reguyla (talk) 13:09, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Wikidata

phabricator:T49930 Ok, by now most Wikipedias use a version of this template that already works quite well with WikiData. I'm thinking of copying the template from en wiki here. Unless there are some risks involved I'm not aware of..? Halibutt (talk) 09:41, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Halibutt, Wikidata only works on Wikipedia not on Commons, as we are still waiting for "arbitrary access" feature that would allow to access article properties from a category or creator template. Also different wikipedia templates seem to rely on different LUA modules and last time I checked none of them seem to be multilingual as required on Commons. --Jarekt (talk) 11:23, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

Additional links for Authority control

I noticed that the English Wikipedia had a number of additional links on their Authority control we do not have here on ours.

In addition to the above, we also have several others that IMO could be added such as iMDB, Find a Grave and Hall of Valor among others. Is there any interest in expanding the existing Authority control template to match the one on ENWP and Wikidata? Or expanding it with additional fields like IMDB, Find a Grave or Hall of Valor? Or are we content with what the template currently contains? Reguyla (talk) 20:37, 23 July 2015 (UTC)

@Reguyla: FWIW, most places have migrated to a LUA-based version... we still haven't (and hence the issue in the next section). Most likely when we switch to a version that pulls the data from WikiData we'll end up with more options showing... I'm not sure if it would be worth the effort to add others before then, since they won't be 'populated'. Revent (talk) 13:25, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

Empty parameters

At Czech Wikipedia I fixed weird dots showing up if there are one or more parameters not filled in (e.g. LCCN: n87909177 • • • VIAF: 59125326). Could you fix it here too? Diff for czech fix I made is here. --Dvorapa (talk) 12:05, 8 November 2015 (UTC)

Something changed with design of hlists used by the template. I ping the author here. May be we can find underlying issue before we start rewriting the template. --Jarekt (talk) 19:33, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
