English: The sound of supplying malt to mash tun and mixing it with water. The recording was realized in the Ursa Maior brewery in Uherce Mineralne (Poland).

Crushed malt falls into the mash tun, where it is mixed with water. At this moment, multi-level mashing process is inaugurated. Various enzymes are activated in different temperatures. Saccharification rest constitutes the most important element of the process, when starch (polysaccharide) is transformed into monosaccharides, fermented by the yeast.
Ready-made mash is pumped to the filtration tun. The solid part, so called spent grain, is deposited on the sieve. Spent grain constitutes waste, while the liquid part, so called beer wart, leaks at the bottom. The obtained wart is regularly pumped to the brewing cauldron.

Ursa Maior jest is a microbrewery, where the beer is produced according to the brewery’s original recipes. The entire production process lasts about a month, the beer is unpasteurized and unfiltered.
