From this poll, it is decided that from January 1 2007, all Picture of the Day (POTD) candidates must be Featured Pictures or Quality Images. pfctdayelise (说什么?) 13:29, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • English: In many languages, POTD don't currently have any special requirements, except for the license. This is different from the English-language page which specifies that POTD should be Featured Images. This vote is on the following proposal: from January 1 2007, all POTDs must be either Featured pictures or Quality images. Anonymous users can vote, as long as they point to their special:contributions and show that they have been involved with POTD in the past (eg added an image or translation).
  • Deutsch: Bislang muss das täglich wechselnde Bild des Tages (engl. picture of the day) abgesehen von der Lizensierung keine besonderen Bedingungen erfüllen. Die nachfolgende Abstimmung bezieht sich auf folgenden Vorschlag: Jedes Bild des Tages ab dem 1. Januar 2007 muss entweder ein exzellentes Bild oder ein ausgewiesenes Qualitätsbild sein. Nichtangemeldete Nutzer können sich an der Abstimmung beteiligen, sofern sie zeigen können, dass sie in letzter Zeit an dem Bild des Tages beteiligt waren (durch Vorschlagen eines Bildes oder Übersetzung des Bildtitels).
  • Español: Actualmente, para ser La imagen del día, una imagen no tiene que cumplir con ningún requisito sino el de licencia. Ahora sometemos a votación la propuesta de que a partir del 1 de enero de 2007, todas las imagenes del día tengan que ser Imágenes destacadas o Imágenes de calidad. Usuarios anónimos pueden votar, siempre que demuestren contribuciones anteriores al proceso de La imagen del día (por contribuir una imagen o traducción).
  • Français : Pour le moment, pour être une image du jour, une image n'a pas besoin de remplir de critères spécifiques, à part sur la licence. Nous soumettons à la communauté un sondage sur la proposition de faire en sorte qu'à partir du 1er janvier 2007, les images du jour soient obligatoirement choisies parmi les images sélectionnées ou parmi les images de qualité. Tout le monde peut voter ici (même les contributeurs anonymes), à partir du moment où ils fournissent un lien vers leurs contributions antérieures sur la page des images du jour (par exemple : proposition d'une image ou d'une traduction).
  • Italiano: Attualmente le Immagini del Giorno non hanno requisiti speciali, se non per quanto riguarda la licenza. Questo voto è a proposito di questa proposta: dal 1 gennaio 2007 tutte le Immagini del Giorno dovranno essere o Immagini selezionate o Immagini di qualità. Gli utenti anonimi potranno votare se mostreranno nei propri contributi di essere stati convolti in passato nella pagina delle Immagini del Giorno (aggiungendo immagini o traduzioni).
  • Polski: Obecnie w dziale Grafika na dziś można umieścić dowolną grafikę, która posiada odpowiednią licencje. Poniżej głosujemy nad następującą propozycją: Od stycznia 2007 roku, wszystkie grafiki na dziś muszą być grafikami na medal lub grafikami wysokiej jakości. W poniższym głosowaniu mogą brać udział osoby niezalogowane pod warunkiem, że przy swoim głosie podadzą linka do swojego wkładu na Commons, gdzie będzie widać, że byli zaangażowani w dział Grafika na dziś (np. poprzez tłumaczenie opisów, bądź dodawanie tam nowych grafik).
  • Português: Actualmente, muitas versões da página Imagem do dia (Picture of the day) noutras línguas, não apresentam directrizes específicas para a escolha da imagem, excepto sobre a licença. Na versão em inglês é dito claramente que a "imagem do dia" deve ser escolhida da lista de Imagens especiais (Featured Pictures). Esta votação apresenta a seguinte proposta: a partir de 1 de Janeiro de 2007 qualquer "imagem do dia" deverá obrigatoriamente ser escolhida das Featured pictures ou das Imagens de Qualidade. Usuários anónimos podem votar, tendo, para isso, que apresentar um link para a sua página de contribuições e demonstrar que estiveram envolvidos na Imagem do Dia no passado (p.ex acrescentaram uma imagem ou fizeram tradução).
  • العربية: في العديد من اللغات, لا يوجد متطلبات كثيرة للصورة التي تعتبر صورة اليوم, ماعدا وجود الترخيص. بإستثناء اللغة اللغة الإنجليزية و التي تشترط أن تكون صورة اليوم هي صورة مميزة.
التصويت في الأسفل هو للطرح التالي: أنه إبتداء من 1 يناير 2007, أي صورة تميز أنها صورة اليوم يجب أن تكون صورة مميزة أو صورة جيدة. بإمكان المساهمين المجهولين التصويت , بشرط الإشارة الى special:مساهماتهم ليظهروا أنه قد سبق لهم المساهمة في العمل في صورة اليوم (سواء بإضافة صورة أو الترجمة).

  • Comment If you are not convinced we have enough images that qualify, please look at these [1][2][3][4], these are just 4 months worth of Quality Images and most have not been POTD. New Quality Images are promoted at a rate of about 30 per month. Quality Images combined with Featured Pictures means we have more than enough for each month without reusing. --Digon3 13:26, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

    • OK, I made that condition. I am not sure if it was a good idea. :) Usually, anonymous users cannot take part in any kind of vote or poll except for comments. I just thought it would be nice to extend a vote to anonymous users who actually have taken part in POTD in the past, since IMO POTD has a relatively high involvement of anonymous editors. I dunno. This confusion is coming from the language translations in languages other than english which didnt say "POTD should from FP" Gnangarra 06:34, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is rather the case that the English language version was changed unilaterally without any discussion in other languages. It was the English language instructions that were out of step.   • I think that it should be recommended to use Quality or Featured images. But should all other images be excluded from PotD even if they are interesting for some other reason than the image quality? I think Commons have historical or unusual pictures that are of good enough quality to be PotD, but not good enough to be a quality or featured image. /82.212.68.183 21:30, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
