Stale[edit]

MediaWiki/RSVG handles these images incorrectly. How do I fix that?[edit]

Article(s): Sebring International Raceway

Request: -- Both images are missing elements that are just filled shapes or simple paths (with just one segment!!!). The 1952 map is also missing some fills that should be patterns. I ran out of options to fix the images. If you find a solution, please fix the images. Both images were created with the Inkscape July 24, 2008 nightly build. Will (Talk - contribs) 13:44, 26 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I added two images which show similar problems. One is only missing a pair of triangles. The other (with the airport layout), I don't want to use until it is fixed. It is really badly handled. Will (Talk - contribs) 05:03, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bug 14953 has been created about this issue and contains a link to this thread.

Still another affected image. Will (Talk - contribs) 11:08, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another image is affected. Even a path is missing here.

Well, starting an image with 0.46 doesn't create the problem. It is definitely the nightly build. Unfortunately, 0.46 doesn't autosave. It aloso hangs from time to time :( Will (Talk - contribs) 11:20, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: Get the stable version of Inkscape or a not so recent development version. -- carol (talk) 04:43, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Southern Moravian CoA and flag[edit]

Article(s): en:Regions of the Czech Republic, en:South Moravian Region, and hundreds of others on almost all the projects.

Request: Redraw the lower-left quadrant.

Explanation: I created the CoA SVG image as my first experiment with Inkscape quite a while back, and in line with the wiki 'open' philosophy - it was crap, but I believed someone would come along and fix it, and it's always easier to do with a pre-existing image. So, imagine my shock when I had a look again, to find out that it not only has been made into a flag, but been featured on derivative CoA/flags (I can't remember where I saw this, unfortunately). The part I have a problem with is the lower left quadrant, the rendering of the grapes, which should be more like here, here or here. The Czech Republic has a great standard with well-drawn vector coat of arms and flags for its regions, cities and villages, and for one of the highest-level administrative divisions to have such an appalling CoA on the Wikimedia projects is inexcusable (and completely my fault :) ). +Hexagon1 (t) 00:51, 29 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SVG not showing, need help[edit]

I have created the image Image:Dhaka-City-Corporation-logo.svg by using Adobe Illustrator 10.0, saved it in SVG format, and uploaded it here. But, the image is not showing. I have faced similar problems at the English Wikipedia earlier. But, it was easily fixed. Can someone take a look and help fixing it? Aditya Kabir (talk) 03:51, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not an SVG techie, but what I see upon clicking the image is this:
XML Parsing Error: undefined entity
Location: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/19/Dhaka-City-Corporation-logo.svg
Line Number 10, Column 1:<svg xmlns:x="&ns_extend;" xmlns:i="&ns_ai;" xmlns:graph="&ns_graphs;"^
I believe the code you entered was faulty somewhere. But again, I'm no SVG techie.

Austrian Imperial Crown[edit]

Request: Would it be possible to create an .SVG image of the Austrian Imperial crown? Having one could really help in making SVG images of coat of arms, flags ect where the crown is used. Regards, Sir Iain (talk) 13:02, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mount Rainier Waterfall Panorama[edit]

What's to be done
This may be a bit difficult, but I'd like to request another panoramic view by assembling the images above. In addition, please rotate the finished panorama 90 degrees counterclockwise, and put it under the name Image:Mount Rainier National Park Narada Falls Panorama.jpg. Thanks!

Repairing Commons' location maps of Vietnam[edit]

In set of province map of Vietnam, there are bad information about some Northern provinces. You can see what we are discussing at Admins' noticeboard at Vietnamese Wikipedia about this issue. You can compare 3 images above with the map below (taken from a copyrighted interactive map so we must take screenshot and upload to Wikipedia to discuss). Anyone of you can repair them? Vinhtantran (talk) 20:15, 30 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: the discussions are in Vietnamese. could you translate the relevant parts? /Marmelad (talk) 18:12, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done Simple SVG surgery request[edit]

Request: There's a big black rectangle in this image. I have no idea why it's there nor how to get rid of it—needless to say it doesn't show up in Inkscape. Can anyone fix it and/or explain what I did wrong? Also, any suggestions for improving the rendering of the square roots would be appreciated. Thanks, -- BenRG (talk) 18:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: The file was saved in Inkscape format (next time select "pure svg"!) and there was a flowtree tag that generated the black thing. Fixed it for you. ;) Bye! Actam (talk) 12:27, 24 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
