Graphist opinion:

I removed the background from Odontolabis_femoralis_sjh.jpg, I may tidy up the others too if I get time. Bitplane 13:57, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The work on the Odontolabis_femoralis_sjh.jpg is really nice and produce a really encyclopaedic picture. Already thanks for this ;] --Yug (talk) 11:14, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the background from Image:HirschkäferÜbach.jpg. Please tell me of any background remains I oversaw or any other horrible things I did to the poor bug. --Ogre 14:09, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A year later and I did another one ;-) Image:Odontolabis_cuvera_sjh.jpg Bitplane 08:52, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article(s): intended to replace the current Amharic Wikipedia logo

Request: This image needs transparency. -- Prince Kassad 19:36, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: Done. But I would really recommend a version based on the high-res Image:Wikipedia-logo.png instead. /Lokal_Profil 01:48, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If someone could paste the text that goes under the image, and possibly the name of the font this would be a lot easier Bitplane 09:04, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Brain diagram[edit]

Please create a free alternative to b:Image:Fmri-asl.png, which must be deleted soon. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 21:53, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Added a potential svg basis. /Lokal_Profil 14:28, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SVG extra rendition[edit]

300 pixel wide
301
300
299

As you see these 2 SVGs got some unexpected rendtion after resized to 300px. I found that it doesn't occur when slightly changing the width. But still I wanna hear other SVG users' opinion, if there're any flaw in my codes and the solution without severely altering the styling. Here're the codes which might be the cause:

1st SVG: Image:WIL-SIL-Proposal-4 20080131.svg

<path id="sile" style="stroke:#FF00FF;stroke-width:10px;fill:none;stroke-dasharray:2" d="M 510,180 L 540,180 Q 550,180 557,187 L 603,233 Q 610,240 610,250 L 610,400 Q 610,440 570,440 L 506,440 Q 496,440 489,447 L 463,473 Q 456,480 446,480 L 320,480"/>

2nd SVG: Image:North Island Line proposal swap.svg
<path id="silw" style="stroke:#9CCE00;stroke-width:10px;fill:none;stroke-dasharray:2" d="M 120,180 L 110,180 Q 80,180 80,220 L 80,250 "/>

Clean up background[edit]

Article(s): ro:ConQUIZtador

Request: Please remove the background, and extract only the "ConQUIZtador" text. -- diego_pmc 17:12, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion:

Ehh, isn't this a logo? /Lokal_Profil 12:03, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You can find a text only version here. Can't upload it to ro.wikipedia myself since my account there isn't old enough. Anyhow I've nominated the image above for deletion now that the issue is resolved. /Lokal_Profil 12:12, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would still like it if the logo was golden, like to original, and not black. diego_pmc 19:19, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arab slave trade in Middle Ages[edit]

Resolved01:12, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Request: I translated the French version of the file into English using inkscape 0.44, but it seems that wiki has problems with rendering it. When the file is downloaded and opened using inkscape it looks fine though. Help please!.-- Hakeem.gadi (talk) 06:08, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion: In inkscape, if you stretch the app to be more wide, there is a button that lets you set the paper size. When you use the mouse to press that button, a dialog pops up that has a button on it that says something like fit paper to image size. While this should be enough, I have found that sometimes, it resizes the image and I need to select all and resize this to match the paper size. The original image itself is not fitting 'the papersize' properly either, btw. -- carol (talk) 06:16, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tips. I've corrected the image. --Hakeem.gadi (talk) 08:28, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, yours is the superior version now. -- carol (talk) 11:33, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cropping, color balanced and correction[edit]

Resolved12:33, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Request: I just recently got a new toy (Canon EOS400D) or strictly speaking my wife permitted me to buy this toy but I'm probably going into too much detail on that subject :P Anyway, I'm quite happy with this picture (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 lens with a close-up filter) despite its rather average bokeh (not my fault - its the best that lens can do I think) but it needs a little cropping I think and perhaps some color correction etc, since I haven't really mastered any image editing program I'd appreciate if somebody could correct it. Cheers, Roo72 16:20, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Graphist opinion:

  • I've modified the lightning of the picture and uploaded a first cropped edited version here. I uploaded after that a second edited version (same lightning - current version) with a square crop which I think even better. I let you revert to a previous version if you don't like my post-processing. Tell me if you want further post-processing. Sting 01:07, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Broken SVG[edit]

Resolved18:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

The file seems ok (could be made prettier) but the thumb is not there... Image:Schematic diagram of the human eye pl.svg. – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:45, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is my understanding that the wikisoftware makes png of the svg for display as thumbnails and on the wiki pages. I think "Broken SVG" is not the problem, but something at meta.wikimedia is. -- carol (talk) 01:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"Warning: This file may contain malicious code, by executing it your system may be compromised." does not sound to promising. /Lokal_Profil 12:09, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
the problem was simply a non-ascii character in the svg. fixed now. /Marmelad (talk) 17:20, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I thought svg's got prevented from uploading if they had such problems. I know mediawiki has prevented me from uploading svgs where I'd forgotten swedish characters in the title element. /Lokal_Profil 18:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
not sure exactly how it works. note that the ascii table contains the swedish characters.
