- Info Inaccurate colors (per Oxford press release; Neptune's true color should be less saturated like File:Neptune Voyager2 color calibrated.png), grainy quality, and obvious seam to the left. The last two issues make this image fall short of the high quality standards expected from the featured picture criteria; other processings of Neptune like File:Neptune Voyager2 color calibrated.png do not show such artifacts and are more eligible, although they have lower resolution. The exaggerated color of this image has misled the public about Neptune's true color for a very long time, and since the recent news about reprocessed Voyager 2 images of Neptune and Uranus, I believe it is best to remove this image to avoid prolonging this misconception. - Most supposedly "natural color" images of Neptune have been color-enhanced until very recently, but this one doesn't even pretend to be natural color. So I don't see that as a problem. Don't we have enhanced-color images of other planets and of the Sun that have been featured pictures? Such images can be valuable for picking out details that would otherwise be hard to see. I think the seam is the better argument. Hopefully this year NASA etc. will put out a hi-res true-color pic, but until then this isn't all that bad. Kwamikagami (talk) 12:22, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
- Don't forget that the majority of people says that the Sun is orange or yellow. CactiStaccingCrane (talk) 13:00, 23 January 2024 (UTC)

- Comment Thanks to Cart for explaining the status of this nomination page. That’s how it is. Just as we cannot handle hidden and obscure nominations, we also cannot handle such delist/removal nominations. – Aristeas (talk) 18:57, 22 April 2024 (UTC)
