Please change this category name to something more specific. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:01, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oops. How about changing it to Levels (surveying instruments)? I would prefer singular form but all the other instruments in Category:Surveying instruments are in plural form. Johan G (talk) 17:20, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The naming convention on commons for categories is to use plural when the plural exists. I do not know about surveying, but one can look at file names. Self-levelling levels, automatic levels, surveying levels? And maybe mires do not fit so well here. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:33, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry, but I dont realy understand the word mires. Johan G (talk) 18:02, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake, File:Mire.jpg has a name in French; levelling rod. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 18:17, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Surveying levels seems like a good choice. Johan G (talk) 18:27, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I will be moving the levels to Surveying levels and the leveling rods to Surveying equipment. Johan G (talk) 15:13, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All the files are moved, and the above part of the discussion is copied to Category talk:Surveying levels Johan G (talk) 15:35, 9 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
