The Category:Art (architecture) & design (and documentary) images uploaded by User:Mdd is about images of art (architecture) and design objects, it's location and cultural events selected and uploaded from external sources by Marcel Douwe Dekker (User:Mdd). Most of the images are created in a documentary photography tradition, which chronicle events or environments both significant and relevant to history and historical events as well as everyday life. It is assumed that in those pictures photographer intentionally choose to picture art and design objects and events in it's surrounding, representing their own unique view.

Older works are in general out of copyright, because the photographers died over 70 years ago, or images where published anonymously more then 70 years ago. More recent photographs are released by external sources, such as locale, regional or national archives or musea, photographers on Flickr, or moviemakers on YouTube, who have released their works under some kind of CC-license. Some are trimmed from existing photo's present on Commons, or in external sources.
