PokeBall deletions[edit]

Commons:Deletion_requests/Image:Nuvo!a_ball.svg it's been nominated for deletion with all the others, thank you for pinting me up. -- Drini 21:59, 29 May 2007(UTC)

Image:Flickrball.PNG[edit]

Image deletion warning Image:Flickrball.PNG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this image, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. If the file is up for deletion because it has been superseded by a superior derivative of your work, consider the notion that although the file may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new file.
In all cases, please do not take the deletion request personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!

Template:Yung6[edit]

Hi Yung6, please move your template to your usernames space for example User:Yung6/License Tag. According to a talk in the german village pump it isn't necessary to use Template:whatever for it.
Thanks and hf --D-Kuru 01:45, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But there arte other such templates. Example: Ltljltlj.
This user is "allowed" to have his "own" template, because this user has uploaded nealry 2.000 (!) pictures!
When I counted right you've uploaded 11 pictures and only 3 use that template.
When you've uploaded ~300 (own) pictures I think that you call call it a good reason to have your "own" Template.
Because of a new bot you don't have to replace all your images licences. --D-Kuru 14:20, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, so you mean I can just move the template and a bot will rename it on the pages it's used on? Yung6 14:28, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if you set a request for it. I think that it isn't so hard to rename three picturelicences (If you don't want to do it, I can do it instead of you). But If you have uploaded nearly 300 pictures you can add a category for all your pictures and then a bot will move your pictures ;-) --D-Kuru 15:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, then do it for me. Yung6 20:13, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done --D-Kuru 20:51, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your license tag is unacceptable, a license tag (e.g. GFDL) must appear somewhere on the page. Lcarsdata 16:32, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It has license tags in it. Yung6 01:17, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: This edit[edit]

Replied on my talk. (zelzany - framed) 17:50, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revert warring[edit]

You nearly violated the 3RR on Template:Done. Changes such as this must not be done without community consensus. Thank you. Lcarsdata 16:34, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But the orange check is way better! Yung6 17:24, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your point? Even so I disagree. Lcarsdata 20:37, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changing symbolic images[edit]

Hi Yung6,

I noticed some of your edits recently have been about modifying the colours of images that serve as visual symbols, such as ticks and question marks. In general it is better to discuss why a certain colour is better than another on the talk page, before changing the image. I have a feeling that suitable colours are usually established very early on, so often such changes won't be popular.

Is there a reason you're particularly interested work like this? If you are interested in helping the Commons, there is a wide range of maintenance tasks that always need more attention, such as Special:Uncategorizedimages.

cheers, pfctdayelise (说什么?) 15:16, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yung6, you can ignore me if you like, but I can tell you, people are going to get sick of this if you keep it up. At the very least, start explaining your reasoning on the talk page before you make such changes. --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 02:04, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sprotected on Main Page[edit]

I've reverted your addition of the Sprotected template to the Main Page. Having that banner up at the top looks ridiculous and doesn't convey anything useful--the Main page has always been protected and always will be. ~MDD4696 16:53, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But it lets people know that it's protected. Perhaps we should create an alternate template, named Sprotected2 (like on Wikipedia), that simply shows the lock icon so people know it is protected? Yung6 16:56, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Octagon-warning.png[edit]

I have reverted it back, since it has transparency probles. It shows up weirdly in MSIE against a non-white background. --Kjoonlee 17:15, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not in my broswer. Yung6 17:22, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Correction, it has transparency problems in both Firefox and MSIE for Windows. --Kjoonlee 17:33, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Works for me" is not a valid reason to revert, IMHO. --Kjoonlee 17:34, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But mine looks better! Yung6 17:35, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, it doesn't match with other warning images. Also, are you accusing me of lying? I do have problems with your image. --Kjoonlee 17:42, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's proof. http://blacksun.ivyro.net/img/trans.png And here's a warning image which doesn't match your colours. Image:Stop hand.svg --Kjoonlee 17:48, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But stop hand has an alternate version, Image:Stop hand 2.svg. Yung6 17:49, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Only because you changed it that way. --Kjoonlee 17:50, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Now you two sit down and talk this out. In the meantime I have protected the image. Give me a note on my talk page when you're finished. --|EPO| 18:38, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Yes check.svg[edit]

The light green is too aggressive on white screen. This picture is massively used on fr.wikipedia and is massively rejected by the community. Kind regards. Meithal 15:20, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

I have blocked you for 24 hours for being disruptive. It should be clear to you by now that what you are doing is not wanted. / Fred J 16:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I haven't unblocked you, but the 24 hours have expired now...
Remember: It is OK to change things, but if you get reverted, please discuss first. Sometimes there are good reasons why things are the way they are...

So you are again doing the same things? [1]
You're unwillingness to discuss and assuming bad faith is alarming.
Take five days off to think about the meaning of "cooperation".
(note: I did not block you, Szczepan1990 did)
Fred J 00:53, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That was a legitimate edit. I was simply letting the Wikimedians know that a tweaked version is now available and should be used in place of the non-transparent one. Yung6 01:10, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Superseded is not the right template for that. If you have a dictionary, please look up what the word "supersede" means. Note that superseded images are candidates for deletion.
A better solution is to just add to the image description page "See Image:Info2.png for an image tweaked for browsers that do not support 24-bit PNG/SVG", for example.
But since you didn't want to discuss it, you wouldn't know. That's why I think it is only fair that you have been blocked for five days, so you can take some time and think about your behavior...
If you start again, the next block will perhaps up to a month.
Fred J 11:45, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, according to Commons:Deletion requests/Superseded, and Redundant, superseded images are candidates for replacement. Yung6 18:02, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Yung6!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.
