Chart is incorrect[edit]

Hi. Please see this source:

Concerning your latest upload:

There should only be 2 parts to each bar:

  • Government/compulsory
  • Voluntary

There is no "Household out-of-pocket" listed in the source.

So there should only be 2 colors in the chart.

The source has the total for each part overlapping each other. They then add the "voluntary" part on top of the "Government/compulsory" part to get the total.

Your 2014 version of the chart had the correct format:

I reverted to that version for now. --Timeshifter (talk) 18:06, 25 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, data source is here https://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=SHA . --Yuasan (talk) 12:03, 26 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Now I see where you got your data. By using the menus.
But where is the data being pulled up from in order to create your SVG chart?
I mean where on the Commons is the data being stored? I am curious.

By the way, thanks for the great work!
I noticed a problem though. Some of the country names overlap.
New Zealand is over UK. Switzerland is over USA. And so on.

Hi, OECD.stat can change table layouts. Can it try as "Customize -> Layout" menu? And you can download it as Excel data. --Yuasan (talk) 13:00, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
And I have editd SVG file directly, it moved some country labels. --Yuasan (talk)
Thanks! Looks great. --Timeshifter (talk) 18:41, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Overwriting existing files[edit]

Hi! It is better to avoid overwriting old files with a totally different new file. See Commons:Overwriting existing files. Overwrites like these should instead be uploaded as a new file, say as File:Tobacco Daily smokers in OECD (2020 data).svg. Overwriting with significant changes can ruin the captions and descriptions on those websites that might be directly embedding the old 2014 version. Thanks. —Vis M (talk) 05:00, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I consider this graph like as File:IAEA members.svg, so I will attach Template:Current. --Yuasan (talk) 04:39, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! You asked for a relief map of Gansu at de:wp. Now I made that map and see that a) you already made a map yourself without giving a note, b) blocked the file name "China Gansu rel location map.svg" so this disturbs the name scheme for original relief maps and c) you didn't follow the license requirements of China Gansu adm location map.svg (BY in CC-BY-SA means naming the author). Hi, sorry, I updated its license note. If you upload your made new file, I will accept its update/delete actions. thanks. --Yuasan (talk) 10:41, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Can you update this chart? There is new data through 2020 for nearly all countries. More countries too. Some data for 2021 for some countries. -- Timeshifter (talk) 06:29, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I uploaded 2019 data. --Yuasan (talk) 03:36, 24 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Why not use the 2020 data? At the source I see around 3 countries that only have 2019 data. And they are non-OECD countries that are not listed in your chart.
If you want you might add the 10 non-OECD countries listed at the bottom of the source list.
Maybe put an asterisk in front of their names? Then add this info to the chart caption:
Health expenditure per capita, 2020 (OECD Health) or latest data.
Under the legend you could put:
* = non-OECD countries".
Source: https://stats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=SHA - "Financing scheme" menu breaks down the expenditures into the 3 parts listed on the bar chart. "Function" menu is set to "Current expenditure on health (all functions)". "Provider" menu is set to "All providers". "Measure" menu is set to "Per capita, current prices, current PPPs".
Above info is from the file description.

OK, I made 2020 ver . --Yuasan (talk) 12:23, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! It is good to have a chart with only OECD countries. It works well in this article:
w:List of countries by total health expenditure per capita.
The chart would be a lot easier to read if the x and y axes were reversed.
The chart would be narrower too. This works better in Wikipedia articles as it is viewed in narrower and narrower devices.
The country names would not be slanted, and so they would be much easier to read.
I see that New Zealand and Australia do not have 2020 data for some stuff. Maybe you could fill that in with older years, and put an explanatory note at the bottom or top of the chart. See examples of notes in charts and maps:
File:World map of share of people who received all doses prescribed by the initial COVID-19 vaccination protocol.png
File:US timeline. Number of overdose deaths from all drugs.svg
