Dolmens in/of France and Menhirs in/of France

[edit]

I noticed that you created categories which are redundant with the /of versions. I know that this is confusing, but finally, the in/of question needs to be harmonised for all countries. I think that the logic comes from the fact that some dolmens and menhirs have been moved to other countries. Je comprends aussi le Français. --Foroa (talk) 08:19, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome here. If you like categorisation, you can be assured to find work for many years to come.
I understand your position and difficulty but as I stated, Menhirs and Dolmens can originate in one country but be found elsewhere (then they are "of" or "from" the country) (personally I would prefer "in" too, but I don't want to waste my time changing it in other counrties). Anyway, I will not waste any discussion on this, because one night, a bot will come by to harmonise the in/of in category:Menhirs by country and category:Dolmens by country with the other in/of namings used for the other countries. --Foroa (talk) 08:51, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Galleries (and soon images) can be moved/renamed

[edit]

For your info, galleries (and soon images) can be moved (= renamed) (I.e. ... of France to xxx in France) (see move tab), which moves the original article and its history too. The system creates automatically a redirect. In wikipedia's, one is not allowed to delete messages (authors rights) to give it another name. --Foroa (talk) 09:21, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pierre Brunehaut Pierre Brunehault

[edit]

Xvdvoort (talk) 12:15, 12 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Groet,

Bondowoso megaliths

[edit]

Hello Xvdvoort, no picture? Anda Djoehana (talk) 09:32, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Anda, thank you for your question. At the moment I am not aware of any pictures within commons of the Bondowoso megaliths. If there any, I will be happy to categorize them. If you have pictures of them I hope you will upload them.

There are lots of interesting megaliths in the Bondowoso area (kenong stones, gravestones, dolmen, menhir and sarcophagi). There are some interesting pictures on the net, but not on commons. In general there are lots of interesting megaliths in all of Indonesia. The listing as it is now, is far from complete. Can you help out here?

Regards,

Passage graves?

[edit]

Hi - I was uploading some images I recently took of a w:Kistvaen and looking to see what was the best way to categorise them. The implication is that they are a form of "Passage" grave which I am a little unsure about. The one I've photographed (& there are a number quite close to me) have in the centre w:Cists.

I'd be happy to have your views on possible categorisations (todays uploads from me will show the images - there are 6 in total). Many thanks & regards --Herby talk thyme 16:05, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your questions and uploads. You are very right to be unsure about the "passage grave" categorisation for Kistvaen. They are a subcategory of Chamber tombs, but a category on their own. I made the sub-category of Chamber tombs, "Kistvaen" en put it into the existing category structure. I also too the liberty to use one of your excellent images as an example of a kistvaen. I saw you have some more good kistvaen images. Would you be so kind to categorize them as "Kistvaen". Regards,

Xvdvoort (talk) 00:10, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your information & work. I will look at my other images (I see you have categorised some) and deal with them. It is a fascinating subject & there are one or two more kistvaens in the area which I will try and get images of. Regards --Herby talk thyme 08:45, 12 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The category "Kistvaen" now is a sub-category of the category "Cist graves", which itself is a sub-category of "Chamber tombs". Xvdvoort (talk) 21:26, 21 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
