Categories[edit]

Please do not add less specific categories, like i.e. Lundgaard & Tranberg, because that makes it harder for us to determine whether files have not yet been categorized into more specific categories. If there are individual files from various subcategories that you want displayed more prominently , I suggest you instead create a gallery page. An example of a gallery page that I have created myself, to enable us to more easily recognize specific buildings, is Fredriksten. Thank you. --Hjart (talk) 06:31, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Hjart. Thank you for your comment. But I do not really understand your point. What is more specific then the architects of a building? I noticed also that there is a category Buildings by Lundgaard & Tranberg, which is of course a doublet to Lundgaard & Tranberg. The background of my activity is, to generate an overview of projects Lundgaard & Tranberg created so far and which of them I will integrate in a new German article. So far I will not continue my activities in this sense, but may be you may be willing to explain a little bit more. Thanks.--Weltenspringerin (talk) 12:33, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Because most new contributors do not know how to categorize their uploads, I and other experienced people spend a fair amount of time categorizing new images etc. We often move images from general categories into more specific categories (in this case categories for the individual buildings). Because there's a lot of images in the subcategories of Lundgaard & Tranberg, it can quickly get really hard to keep track of which images belong to which buildings and which images may be new. That's why we try to keep the base category fairly empty. Images of buildings which have their own categories belong there, not in the base category (Lundgaard & Tranberg). Please also note that Lundgaard & Tranberg and Buildings by Lundgaard & Tranberg are not duplicates. It's just that we so far have been to lazy to move all the building categories to the latter. Hello Hjart, I looked up the Buildings by Lundgaard & Tranberg and I understood the principle. Weltenspringerin (talk) 23:06, 13 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
