Ramsau revision[edit]

Ramsau revision

Servus, -- AM 13:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Permission[edit]

Mr. Waugsberg,

I have been attempting (and pulling what's left of my hair out) to contact you.

I would like to know something about 6 GIF animations on your pages at wikipedia. I would like to know if you created them from original Muybridge photographs (or copies), and if you did, a little about the history of the photographs (not Muybridge). Also, a little bit about you.

The names of the files are; 100px-Muybridge_horse_gallop_animated_2 100px-Muybridge_race_horse_animated 100px-Muybridge_horse_pacing_animated 100px-Muybridge_horse_jumping_animated 100px-Muybridge_Buffalo_galloping 100px-Muybridge_horse_walking_animated

We would like to use some or all of these animations on our website. Please email me back at this email address; author@precinemahistory.net with a CC to this email; burnsp@aci.on.ca

I am not on wikipedia very much, but the user is User:Paul Burns

Drohnenwabe[edit]

Hallo Waugsberg,

--Warden 18:43, 23 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Serie schlüpfende Biene
Vielen Dank!
--wau 11:51, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rosa dos ventos[edit]

  • Hello Joaquim, I would like to support your wind rose which is a fine work. Only, as the drawing is more exactly executed than the original, not so "hand-made", I think that the indications of the directions at the outer circle which give the impression to be hand-written don't fit to the rose as well as in the original. Would it perhaps be better to make them a little bit more regular, less hand-written, like a calligraphy which is between written and printed (example: Image:Calligraphy.malmesbury.bible.arp.jpg)? The letters or signs in the inner circle are nice, a bit surprising is that they seem to have nothing to do with the name of the directions outside (O for south, S for south-east). Are they not portuguese?
Was this too hard? if necessary, I'll say it again in English. - Alvesgaspar 23:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Veja a nova versão, que me parece bastante melhor. O que acha da crítica de LadyofHats? - Alvesgaspar 15:56, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Waugsberg, I am interested to know where you acquired the photo of this German "Teddy Bear" circa 1954? I recently purchased an antique Teddy Bear of very similar construction and am trying to determine its origin. Thank you.

The Teddy is mine. It is a present I was given when I was a child. I think it was bought in Munich in 1954 or even a bit earlier, between 1951 and 1954. -wau > 22:30, 14 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Italian problems[edit]

Hi Waugsberg, I think you should read this. There is at least one photo you took among those that the Sopraintendenza ai Beni Culturali dell'Etruria meridionale want to be deleted. There is no consensus on deleting all the photos, but you may want to have the photos you uploaded to be deleted. Bye --Jaqen (talk) 23:18, 17 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dann müßte man ja tausende Aufnahmen löschen. Was kann man da unternehmen? Gruß, --AM (talk) 17:33, 18 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Unternehmen? Praktisch wenig.

Gruß, --kaʁstn 16:27, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Grüße --wau > 19:09, 23 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Gruß, --kaʁstn 14:04, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Wasgsberg. So, I was wondering. Did you just catch a bee and get it to sting you so you could take pictures? seresin (¡?) 05:43, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, I hurt the bee accidentally while working in the beehive. As I had crushed a little the head or the breast, it was dying, but the rear part of it with the stinger still functioned. So I could put it on my finger and it was still able to sting. Unfortunately the picture is not sharp. It's not easy to keep unmoved to take a macro picture while a bee is stinging you. --wau > 23:26, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, thanks. A bee sting is not very bad for a beekeeper. (Though the pain is the same, whether beekeeper or not. But the swelling is much less if you're used to stings.) It would have been more sacrifice to take a picture of a lion eating the head of the artist! --wau > 15:34, 5 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to include your picture of the Tomb of the Leopards http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tomba_dei_Leopardi_Tarquinia_c.jpg in a textbook, printed at about 1/12 of a page. I wanted to confirm that would be OK with you, and ask if you would like me to include in the credits maybe (in addition to Wikipedia, eventually) your full name, location, or anything else (which I would much rather do, this being initially a printed text with no 'links', and since someone may end up reading it well after The Age of Wikipedia).

I am a Wikipedia noob and I am not sure if you get a return address with this --just in case, thechabon ATTT! hotmail DOT! com.

I'm not a famous photographer whose name must be kept in mind in the year 1000 after Wikipedia. So it's ok if you write "Waugsberg, Wikimedia Commons", in this case even without mentioning the license. --wau > 13:52, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Drone bee[edit]

Dear Waugsberg, May I use your picture of a drone bee featured on your page? I understand that the correct attribution would be Waugsberg, Creative Commons, but please advise. I am a freelance writer and commentator and I am creating a web site called Plight of the Bees for a company called Syngenta. Best wishes, Lionel

Hello, as I wrote above: It is necessary to provide the name of the author (Waugsberg) and the URL of the license or a link to it. Best wishes, --wau > 03:14, 17 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your gif![edit]

Hello!

My name is Laurie and I'm the Project Manager for na2ure, an NYC-based startup toy company. We featured this gif of yours (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Muybridge_Camel_Racking.gif) in our upcoming app, and wanted to thank you. Thank you!

na2ure is all about designing science play. We developed a game-changing platform called ferret that classifies ecological data into an intuitive network that can be easily learned through play. The high end value of our work attracted STEM>STEAM icon John Maeda, as well as the VCs behind LittleBits, Sphero, Makerbot, and Shapeways. The science has been vetted by MD's and PhD's, tested by kids, and praised by educators as appealing to all ages.

None of this would have been possible without your work. Thank you.

The app is available on the iOS platform and will be released to the public soon. Be sure to follow us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/Anigramit) and Twitter (@anigramit) for a quick, easy way to share the news with your social media network -- and to keep up to date on all the great stuff we’re doing.

Again, thank you! Laurie Vazquez Project Manager, na2ure manager@na2ure.com

Bild Stechende Biene 12a.jpg[edit]

LG indysign

Eadweard Muybridge Bison images set to motion[edit]

Hello,

I am the Production Coordinator for National Geographic Wild's upcoming series entitled United States of Animals. We have recently come across a youtube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gwmdcoz1Rbk) of Eadweard Muybridge Bison images set to motion.

We are trying to track down someone to contact in regard to finding out if this footage/the moving images are public domain or if not, who owns the rights to this footage. We are interested in incorporating it into an episode of our show. Please contact me directly at ashleyb@halfyardproductions.com with any information related to this moving image. Thank you in advance for your help with this matter.

Hello, I have seen your message. I shall answer soon. --wau > 21:24, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bild Bienen im Flug 52e.jpg[edit]

Hallo Waugsberg,

Image Permissions[edit]

Hi there! I'm a producer on a web series called Animalogic, and I'm currently working on an episode about bees! You have so many amazing bee photos on Wikimedia and I was hoping to get your permission to use some of them in our little show. I'd love for you to check out our channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwg6_F2hDHYrqbNSGjmar4w and let me know if this is something that you'd be interested in contributing to. Though we're still a relatively small show, we're hoping to expand and possibly be broadcast on other platforms. Because of this, we are unable to use any images that are listed as "share alike" under the creative commons license. If you could email me at andrew.strapp@blueantmedia.ca and let me know if there are other licensing possibilities that would be amazing. We love your photos and hope to work something out. Thank you very much for your time, -Andrew Strapp — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.9.216.151 (talk) 21:11, 06 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File:Teddy bear 27.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
