Marcel Junod[edit]

All photos on WikiCommons must be allowed to be used by anybody for any purpose. The license you have included for the photos of Marcel Junod is incompatible with this, eg. they can not be used in an article critical against Mr. Junod or The International Red Cross. Unless the photo is relicensed it may have to be deleted. Thuresson 13:31, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have permission from the copyright holder to drop the ambiguous term "discredit" from the license on request. Regarding libel and slander, both of these would constitute a use which is illegal in any jurisdiction anyway. In so, these license term does not put any restrictions on the use of these pictures which is not already in place due to legal regulations. Thus, this requirement only reaffirms what's already written in the law. --Uwe 14:11, 29 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Red Crystal[edit]

Yes, I thought you could ask me about that. But: on the images by Denelson and Zcout the colour is not red, it is:

#d62820 and the red colour (as 'Red Cross' and 'Red Crystal') is #ff0000 . Do you see differences between these two colours ?

I simply wanted to use a perfect red, but if you really think I'm wrong and I have to change the colour I'll do it, of course.

Done, please tell me if there is something wrong with this image. And if you can, add a category there, I didn't know where to categorize it. I've also translated IHL Symbol template into Polish for your request. Best regards, -- odder 16:52, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a small problem: I can make them not until Friday evening, when I come home and where I can use Inkscape (or I'll try to do it on my friend's laptop, but don't count on that, really). So if you can wait to Friday, I would be very happy ;) Of course I'll make these images, there's no problem with that. -- odder 15:26, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, first image done. These two I'll make at home, on Friday: there is no good mouse on my friend's laptop [you propably know how is it with laptops..]. Please add a category, license and a good description to the image, I would be very thankful. GruB, --odder 19:15, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Today is Friday, so: second and third image are done. Please add a good description there if you can. I hope they're not wrong ;) Regards, -- odder 20:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:IHL Symbol[edit]

I used The dictionary of the European Union to retrieve the official translations. JoJan 16:45, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the ICRC wrote the foundation and said the image was wrong. I fixed the PNG image, but am unable to work on the svg image at this time. Cary "Bastiqe" Bass demandez 17:11, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And had you bothered looking at the superceded link I added, you'd have been able to find a link to the archived correspondence as well as the correct logo. It is wrong, the ICRC have asked us to remove the wrong image (and I'm offering an opportunity to update it), and you had no business reverting me. Clotrimazole[edit]

Well.. it's on my to-do list since yesterday ;) Like other non-SVG images from your featured articles in the German Wikipedia that could be redrawn into SVG :) (I've used this page, hope it's good for you). I really enjoy creating SVGs for your articles :) Greets, /odder 14:08, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, UW!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

Feel free to do whatever you believe to be correct. Splitting the template into whatever number is needed to specifically cover the situation for every country and symbol is as good for me as any other solution. --Uwe (talk) 12:22, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. odder (talk) 22:25, 14 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign
This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:Philip Short (1960-2018).jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the No permission since tag with on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded (:File:Philip Short (1960-2018).jpg) and the above demanded information in your request.
