Don't remove nominations from the candidate list, please[edit]

Tiago, please don't remove nominations from the candidate list as long they not closed propperly and being archived. You can apply the withdraw template if you want to to cut your nomination short. Regards --Richard Bartz (talk) 00:26, 30 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Featured pics candidates[edit]

Caro Tiago

Sorry that I can't support your Cologne Cathedral - thought I would tell you here rather than the more public PFC List. It is almost there, but I think the window should be more complete and in sharper focus. Also not quite so central. Good try. Probably you would have had people's heads in the way, though, to include more of the window. It is like the roof pattern is drawing the eye to the window. Do you have another version taken about half the distance from the window? I can see the argument against wanting to make too much of the window, but at half the distance it would be in better focus.

 • Hello Robert! That photo was taken during a visit to the Cologne Cathedral. There were too many people inside the cathedral at that day, which somehow affected the photo (since I had to crop out most of it). I was also without a tripod, which made the task of taking a photo in such dim light condition very hard. Maybe for a next time I'll manage to do it better :) Thanks for your comments, I appreciated! West Bromwich Reredos.

I have followed your suggestion, since it is basically what I had in mind to begin with. Grazie. If I get another opportunity, I ought to photograph the Last Supper scene in 2 sections and stitch them together. Ciao. -- Robert of Ramsor (talk) 00:45, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

 • Hello again! I think the composition is better now. However, I would work a little bit more with the contrast. The colors of the photo are too "flat" (in a yellowish tone). By increasing the contrast, I believe that you may achieve a better tonality balance. Tiago Fioreze (talk) 14:47, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Limmatquai at nighttime.jpg[edit]

>I don't fully understand why I should have removed the edited version instead of the original version? Could you please clarify what you mean?

Light regions (houses) becomes grayish. This way it looks very unnatural and strange.

I advice to make composition of several photos for night shots. Compare the sharpness and details of two photos:

 • ordinary one: File:Moscow-City at night, 2008-03.jpg
 • composition of 10 photos: File:Moscow_International_Business_Centre,_Marc_2008.JPG

Hello, Tfioreze!
Tip: Add categories to your files
Tip: Add categories to your files

Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.

Here's how:

1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:

2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".

When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").

Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.

FPC thoughts[edit]

Hello Tiaro Fioreze, I just read your FP-nomination of File:Hydrangea macrophylla petals.jpg and wanted to ask if you couldn't include the information concerning the pH in the image description as additional information can be very helpful! ;-> (P.S. I've got to take a look on your gallery - seems you've beautiful pictures!) --Anna reg (talk) 12:23, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:Times Square Ads.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!
