Helo, I've seen some of your immaginary flagicons, and I want to congratulate you for creating them, it helped me a lot with the football project on Wikipedia. Can you can make some flagicons for Liga I (See here the teams), pleeeease :)?Ionutzmovie (talk) 22:46, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry, I just wanted to provide some templates to help people create their own flagicons. I am not intrested in making team flagicons at this point.--Svgalbertian (talk) 23:36, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

Notification about possible deletion

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

HRMB request

Hello, I was just checking to see when the bike route shields would be made. I have a template set up at the request page. Dough4872 03:28, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

NYC Subway Bullets

You replaced my png versions of New York City Subway bullets with svg versions almost a month ago. Do you think you could whip up a B&Q combo for the BMT Brighton Line? I didn't think I'd be able to create an infobox with any bullets for that one, but I found a way to do so. ----DanTD (talk) 04:16, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Sure, black or transparent background? --Svgalbertian (talk) 18:29, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
I suppose either one is fine. WP:NYPT seems to prefer the transparent ones, but some non-English wikis are still using the black backgrounds for their versions. ----DanTD (talk) 14:12, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
You know what? Maybe you'd be better off doing both just in case one wiki seeks the other. ----DanTD (talk) 18:23, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
✓ Done File:NYCS-line-black-Brighton.svg, File:NYCS-line-trans-Brighton.svg. Also, just so you know you can still create an infobox without having the sign, just leave the image field blank. --Svgalbertian (talk) 17:48, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
I know, but I wanted the sign anyway. Thanks a lot. This one is nice. ----DanTD (talk) 04:37, 11 March 2011 (UTC)

Seal of North Dakota

You wrongly nominated that file for deletion. While I got it from Vector Images, i altered the file greatly (and I can prove it!), and therefore I hold the rights. The file is now being requested for undeletion here. I don't appreciate this at all, and I will re-upload the file if I have to. I hold the rights and released it as PD. Fry1989 (talk) 19:53, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

The smae goes for the Seal of Minnesota. I altered that file myself and I hold rights. Fry1989 (talk) 20:04, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
I have tried to teach you copyright and have failed. Please attempt to understand Commons:Coats of Arms before you upload new images or you may find yourself blocked from editing.--Svgalbertian (talk) 21:28, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Again, I greatly altered the file from it's source. It is now mine. If you disagree, too bad. Fry1989 (talk) 21:29, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
I will be watching you. I really hope you attempt to understand copyright. If you start to disregard the policies of this community you will find yourself blocked from editing.--Svgalbertian (talk) 21:32, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
There is a double-standard here. People upload files all the time, greatly alter them, and they get by, and yet mine don't. Also, I could point out plenty of files on here that are direct copies from Vector Images, not even edited derivatives, and I don't see you going after them! Fry1989 (talk) 21:40, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
If you are referring to File:Seal of Texas.svg that image is in a grey area. Last time it was kept under the argument the the elements of the seal are too simple to hold copyright. While I agree for the star and the text, the olive and live oak branches could hold copyright. I have been considering re-nominating the file for deletion because in addition to the visual aspects of it, the vector mathematical data of the file should be able to hold copyright. In general I think taking images from vector-images.com is unethical and puts this community at risk. We have plenty of talented artists here, and we should be able to make free images ourselves.--Svgalbertian (talk) 21:55, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
No, I'm refering to plenty of files. Infact, while Clindberg has uploaded several vector files from US government sources, I came across his vector version of the South Dakota Seal. It appears that the Federal Government got that file directly from VI as they are identical. Either that or VI got it from the US governemnt. One copied the other, that much I can tell. Fry1989 (talk) 22:14, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
Works of the US federal government are not subject to copyright, that is why Clindberg is allowed to upload those images. Again this is a grey area, are we sure that a federal employee created those images? Perhaps they just got them directly from the states. The images from VI are not as much of a grey area. The creators assert their rights with copyright statements. For raster images, Commons might be able to keep VI images if they are indistinguishable from other images without copyright (e.g. published 100 years ago). For vector images, personally I believe it is a copyright violation, but I am unsure if the community agrees, that is why I put File:Seal of Texas.svg up for debate.--Svgalbertian (talk) 22:26, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
I know that he got it from the Fed. What I'm saying is that either the Fed copied VI, or VI copied the Fed. One or the other, because the version he got from the Federal Government and the version on VI are identical. Now yes, we have many good artists on here, and it would be great if they would create the missing coats of arms and seals we need in Vector. However, that process is extremely slow, and it's hard to find artists with the time and who are willing to do it. Fry1989 (talk) 22:32, 27 April 2011 (UTC)
The argument made is if the federal government publishes it, than it has no copyright. That in itself is dubious, but that is the position that has been taken by the community here. In cases of things not published by the federal government, we need to look if the design is original and published under a free license, or if design attempts to copy a version that is public domain due to age, that it must be below the threshold of originality. When I refer to an original design, I do not mean a derivate work, I mean an 100% new creation.--Svgalbertian (talk) 22:52, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

Other Seals

You have better skills then I do, would you maybe like to attempt the other 2 seals of Texas as a Republic in this graphic lab request? It'd be great to have them. Fry1989 (talk) 02:47, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

You game? Fry1989 (talk) 20:49, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Accepted on the Graphics lab. Give me a week or so to finish the other half of the request.--Svgalbertian (talk) 18:03, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

HBE FLAG

hello! i would like to ask you if you could remake this flag http://codegeass.wikia.com/wiki/File:Britannian_flag.svg Drax90 (talk) 15:09, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Obtaining signs from the DfT's Traffic signs image database

Hi. I see you've uploaded a few signs from the Traffic signs image database, e.g. File:UK traffic sign 622.8.svg, File:UK traffic sign 551.2.svg. I'm interested in making all signs available, in connection with improving coverage related toTSRGD. Do you know whether files have to be downloaded individually and then manually extracted as SVG, or is there a simpler means? Thanks. --Trevj (talk) 08:59, 8 June 2011 (UTC)

There is no easy way. I have been opening the files with Inkscape, adjusting the size, modifying the colors to use the suggested RGB values, and uploading.--Svgalbertian (talk) 13:51, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice. I'll try contactnig the DfT - if I have any joy, I'll let you know. --Trevj (talk) 20:11, 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Category:Historical flags of Texas

I'm wondering if you can help me with some historical Texas flags I've recently posted. The San Jacinto flag should have the word "LIBERTY" showing on the sash where you see a dark rectangle, and the Baker's San Felipe flag should have all of the wording centered among the stripes, as you can see here http://www.tamu.edu/faculty/ccbn/dewitt/indepenflgs.htm. Neither of these items are showing up correctly on the posted versions, but they look correct on the originals.

Also, there's already an svg of the 1824 flag. How do I save Wikipedia File:Texas Alamo Flag.svg in the Wikimedia Category:Historical flags of Texas? Thanks for your help.--Glasshouse (talk) 12:19, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

There is a hidden...something in the top left corner of Captain Burroughs' Flag which appears as a black box on the Wiki image. I think it might be a text box, but when I look at the original, I can't find anything. I think that's also what keeps the flag from fitting squarely into the frame when I go into document properties and try to resize the page to content. Any ideas? Thanks.--Glasshouse (talk) 13:16, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Never mind, it's fixed.--Glasshouse (talk) 23:48, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Another NYC Subway bullet composite

I'm requesting another New York City Subway bullet composite, this time for the IND Rockaway Line infobox, and this time only with a transparent background. It should include the following;

I remembered your work replacing my *png composites and the one you made for the BMT Brighton Line and I'm sure you'd have an easier time than me making this one as well. I know you told me I can add infoboxes without the logos, but I still prefer to add them. ----DanTD (talk) 22:12, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

UK Traffic Signs...

Hi.

I note you made some version of UK Traffic Signs...

Would it be possible for you to suggest a project to convert every single diagram currently used in the UK (i.e those in the UK relevant legislation and for which working drawings exist)?

Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:14, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Excuse me, but the color of differs from the color of and . I didn't want to disturb you, but I don't know to edit *.svg files. Thanks. Vcohen (talk) 12:12, 21 November 2011 (UTC)

The file was actually updated, but the cached picture still points to the old file. There is a bug open against this: bugzilla:31680 --Svgalbertian (talk) 19:20, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
Thank you once more. Vcohen (talk) 19:32, 21 November 2011 (UTC)
