Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. INeverCry 23:58, 31 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shonagon, why did your write "anonymous" in the author-entry? Are you not the photographer? --Túrelio (talk) 09:35, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reporting.Yes I am the photographer. Last time with Commonist, I uploaded anonmyous artworks from the Musée du quai Branly. I will make corrections --Shonagon (talk) 09:45, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for participating in Wiki Loves Monuments 2013! Please help with this survey.

Dear Shonagon,
Thank you for contributing to Wiki Loves Monuments 2013, and for sharing your pictures with the whole world! We would like to ask again a few minutes of your time.

Thanks to the participation of people like you, the contest gathered more than 365,000 pictures of cultural heritage objects from more than 50 countries around the world, becoming the largest photography competition to have ever taken place.

You can find all your pictures in your upload log, and are of course very welcome to keep uploading images and help develop Wikimedia Commons, even though you will not be able to win more prizes (just yet).

If you'd like to start editing relevant Wikipedia articles and share your knowledge with other people, please go to the Wikipedia Welcome page for more information, guidance, and help.

To make future contests even more successful than this year, we would like to invite you to share your experiences with us in a short survey. Please fill in this short survey in your own language, and help us learn what you liked and didn't like about Wiki Loves Monuments 2013.

Kind regards,

the Wiki Loves Monuments team

Thanks for taking and posting these great photos. I've been going through the North & Central American ethnographic art and using a number of them in articles. Great stuff! Cheers, Pete Tillman (talk) 02:51, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bonne participation, cordialement, VIGNERON (talk) 07:18, 8 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

90% of the message I receive on Commons is complains and deleting notification... so thanks for your appreciations! You are really welcome! --Sailko (talk) 22:26, 4 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your message again! It's a very nice project and I am glad I could contribute. Those images are quite old and now I am trying to have a much higher quality, so in the future it will be all better ;) --Sailko (talk) 10:30, 2 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Shonagon, I really appreciate your message. At this year wikilovesmonuments contest I am supposed to upload more than 10 museums catalogue, and for many of these insititutions it will be the only legal way to have artworks images on Commons. File:Allégorie de la Renommée - Sebastiano Conca - Q18573785.jpg[edit]

Hey I just saw this - awesome use of Wikidata. Can you share how you made this? I assume you first created the item and then uploaded the image. I just added the painter category though - too bad this wasn't part of the upload process. I also noticed that the way the template currently works, you can't casually click through to Joconde but have to copy/paste the ID. Still though, impressive work! Jane023 (talk) 12:30, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jane023. Yes, this was for a batch of images corresponding to existing Wikidata items. It is just a use case of Wikidata arbitrary access In Commons and the model is exactly what is in the diff https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:All%C3%A9gorie_de_la_Renomm%C3%A9e_-_Sebastiano_Conca_-_Q18573785.jpg&diff=196250916&oldid=196237864 . There is a common canvas and just Wikidata Qnumber and title are changed. The solution is not perfect: not use of Common template, probably no integration in index for searches, and not the most simple ( {{Artwork|wikidata=Q18573785}} would be ideal). But it has two great advantages: very quick way to complete largelly artwork template, and assurance of good reuse of Wikidata information (no error of copy & paste). By the way, this contribution was powered by Wikidata (result: http://www.zone47.com/crotos/?p195=3044768&d=20160515 ). We can retrieve missing images in Commons and precise informations for notable artworks which have Wikidata items. Another case where Wikidata is so usefull. Wiki takes the Louvre[edit]

Hello Thesupermat.

Concorso Wiki Loves Monuments Italia 2018 (English version)

Grazie, Nemo 16:09, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Stèle irrégulière - Musée du Louvre Antiquités égyptiennes E 21706 ; MG 4207.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.
