Goodies, tips, and tricks Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities. You can find the files you have uploaded in your Uploads. Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

Birefringent Water Ice images

Hi there. Thanks for contributing these fascinating images like this one!

You opted to release them here with a CC BY 4.0 license, but it looks like the same images have already been published on Facebook and your personal website (presuming you are Tom Wagner). Since first publication is important for copyright purposes, we cannot typically host images that were first published without a license compatible with Wikimedia Commons, and it looks like all rights are reserved on the website (which is the case by default). For a variety of reasons, we require additional verification in such situations. This is to make sure that, say, you didn't choose the license accidentally, or that someone else isn't just pretending to be you on Commons, etc.

The easiest way to remedy this would be to mark the images as CC BY on your website in some manner. These instructions can help with that. If you can't or don't want to do so, the other way is to go through this release generator, which will bring you through a series of steps and present some email text for you to send in. It will eventually be attached to the files on the back end. As the judging process for the science competition is underway, please let me know ASAP if this is something you can fix. Wiki Science Competition 2019

Dear uploader of European Science Photo Competition 2015 and Wiki Science Competition 2017, we would like to remind you that Wiki Science Competition 2019 has started in the whole world. It is now completed in Russia (active in May), Ukraine and France (active during November), but it's still open in all the other countries.

If you want to take part where WSC2019 is still open, please consult this page. Only some national categories are associated to competitions with local prizes.

If you are an expert user, please consider that images uploaded within the deadline can be included in any case in their national category even if not uploaded with the main interface.

Please keep in mind that there is a new category this year, i.e. "nature and wildlife".

If you already took part in a country that has completed its upload phase, please consider improving the description in English of your files (click on the edit button), since such description is what the international jury will use to evaluate them. World finalists will be finalized after March 2020.

It is now completed in Russia (active in May), but it's still open in almost all the other countries.
