Blank maps: 1990 and 2000 + Kosovo, Scotland

Thanks for Annoatating my uploads of Image:BlankMap-World-2000.png and Image:BlankMap-World-1990.png! It really brings order to chaos. Also, since Serbia has held their elections and the UN is prepared to announce their plan for Kosovo, I have updated blank maps ready for whatever the outcome is. I also plan on doing blank mps with Scotland on them as well later this year if the SNP wins the elections to Holyrood, if not, then no. Hoshie 04:16, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

On second thought, I've decided to wait to do blank maps for Scotland, since i'm not entirely sure the SNP will win, or if they win, a referendum will even be held. Two other map things:
1) St.-Martin and St.-Barthelemy voted in 2003 to become overseas collectivities of France. After four years, this proposal will happen by spring. Because of this, I have an updated version of Image:BlankMap-World-v6.png ready once ISO assigns codes to these islands. On 1 July, the Netherlands Antilles will cease to exist. Three of the islands will become apart of the Netherlands (think French Guiana); the other two, Curacao and Sint Maarten, will have the same status as Aruba. Since they are on the map already, IMHO - no update is needed.
2) Until 2000 (when an agreement was signed), the boundry between [N and S] Yemen and Saudi Arabia did not exist. on the blank maps from 1970 to 2000, i've marked the boundry with a shade of grey that doesn't blend in the darker gray. I hope this is ok. Hoshie 08:03, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
I've uploaded the maps from the 70's to 1993 with no boundary between Saudi and Yemen. I hope you like them. Also, i'm going to add the Neutral Zones to the WWII map. Also I plan on putting Ifni (Spanish enclave) on the pre 1969 maps as well. As for the Yemen thing, here are the sources: CIA map of Yemen from 1999, and CIA map of the Mid-East from 1976. Canal Zone

I have added the Canal Zone for the 1921 and 1957-1970 maps. I have also added a note to the talk page of the 1985 map about the end of the Iraq/Saudi Arabia Neutral Zone. It would also nice to have maps for the turn of the century and the late 1940's-1956. The ends of the Saudi-Iraqi N.Z., the Canal Zone, and Ifni are noted on the description pages as well. Hoshie 05:51, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

A couple of maps

Astrokey, I have to apologise that I inadvertently uploaded Image:Australia_1838.jpg and Image:Australia_1916_western_australia.jpg without noticing that you already had. Both sources are identical and so hopefully no harm was done. Sorry anyway. Moondyne 13:52, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

The funny think is that I'm almost certain that I didn't get a message warning me I was about to overwrite a file. I can only assume I had my eyes closed when that popped up and I pressed "Save anyway". Moondyne 22:43, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Please, look here. Thanks!--Xtv 16:35, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

I have made some mild fixes to this map. You had the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man shaded in red with the rest of the UK; this isn't correct. The CIA Factbook says: Guernsey is a British crown dependency, but is not part of the UK. [1] (The line is the same for Jersey and the Isle of Man). I have also shaded Guadeloupe, Martinique, & Reunion in blue with French Guiana since they are a part of France as well. Hoshie 03:39, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Easter Monday in Chile and Argentina

Hi, easter Monday is not known in Chile or Argentina, but on Image:Easter_monday_countries.PNG they are painted. can you change that? thanks. --Mnemoc 23:32, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

No problem, I have updated it --Astrokey44 03:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

Please update your map

Your map in the List of countries by GDP (PPP) per capita of Wikipedia - should be updated, according to the new 2006 figures. I've added an "update" message - at the top of the the article. This message should be deleted once you update your map. 80.230.2.240 00:06, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Just so you know, I think this is the best map of any kind I have ever seen in my life. Well done. It's perfect, and the description page should be set in gold and framed in the offices of Wikimedia. It is what vector graphics were designed for. You officially go on my list of most admired Commonists. I'm about to nominate it as a featured picture on Wikipedia. — Vanderdecken ξφ 14:23, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Multinational force in Iraq Countries

Hello Astrokey,

Would you be so kind as to give me permission to update the abovementioned image, as it is more than a year old? If not, please think about making the necessary updates yourself.

Thanks. Buttockhat 15:11, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I think you know how to work that map. I would like to have the year digits larger. Possible? --Kipala 10:00, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Australian exploration maps

I've just nominated a heap of maps for deletion because they are basically encarta images with lines on top; you're probably familiar with these; I was hoping that you could add making new versions of them to your to do list since they're highly informative, but the copyright problems are obvious with the current versions. Thanks. --Peta 03:27, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Need your name for attribution

Hello, I am publishing one of your maps and am required by the GFDL to give you attribution, but I do not know your name. Could you please tell me so that I can fulfill the requirements of the license? --Munchkinguy 01:04, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Alright, but it seems to defeat the purpose of an attribution license if the creator of a copyrighted work insists on not having their name associated with that work. --Munchkinguy 00:24, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

post WWII blank maps

Hey,

This is just a heads up to let you know that I have fixed some of the post WWII historical blank maps for 1957, 1962, 1970, and 1985 to show the Angolan enclave of Cabinda, which is NW of DR Congo/Zaire. Hope you like them!

:-)

Britian in India

Just FYI, your maps for india in the 19th century really aren't correct at all. 1822 totally understates british control, while 1885 runs control only up to the 1947 border with pakistan! the preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.141.59.217 (talk • contribs)
