Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~. To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:File:Foo.jpg]], which produces: File:Foo.jpg. You may enable gadgets (custom features) for your account. There are several tools to upload files. Have you edited Wikipedia before? This guide might be useful. Made a mistake? Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? Tag it as {{speedy|reason here}}. For more information read the deletion guidelines.

New version of a file

Hi,

No, creating a user page does not change anything to the permissions of an account. You created this new account "Petulda" on December 12, 2015. If you tried to upload a new version of a file less than four days after the creation of that new account, then it did not have the required permission level. It should have that permission now. Or you could have used your other account, "Petulda~commonswiki" created June 8, 2012, which already had the permission. -- Asclepias (talk) 16:24, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

What file are you trying to overwrite? According to Commons:Autoconfirmed users, an account gets that permission automatically four days after creation. If your second account Petulda doesn't get the link "upload a new version of this file" on the file description page, I suggest you try with your first account, Petulda~commonswiki. -- Asclepias (talk) 23:56, 21 December 2015 (UTC)

I was able to upload a new version of the file using your link. So it seems it's not a problem with permissions, only the functionality is hidden. --Petulda (talk) 06:45, 31 December 2015 (UTC)
