Hi! I'm the author of the photo. Google search doesn't give you this quality.--Mansurov Eldar (talk) 05:58, 15 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This image is NOT a copyright violation. I'm the author of that book, I also designed that cover and I sent it for distribution/promotion to that site (JamesBond007.se) and others. Please reconsider this. Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by NS writings (talk • contribs) 19:14, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@NS writings: Hello. I've delete the tag for copyright violation. If you are the author of the cover design, are you aware that you are giving permission for anyone to reuse your artwork for almost any purpose? Pbroks13 (talk) 19:20, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I know, my intention was to illustrate the Wikipedia entry for my book in case it's approved. In fact I have sent a hi-res version of it to many James Bond websites. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NS writings (talk • contribs) 19:26, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@NS writings: If I can make a recommendation, you should upload the image on the English Wikipedia and license it under fair-use, instead of here under CC-4.0. That way, you retain all copyrights on the image. Thank you for your response! Pbroks13 (talk) 19:31, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Pbroks13 Thanks for the advice, is there any way I can modify this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by NS writings (talk • contribs) 19:33, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@NS writings: Yes, just remove the image from your draft on en.wiki, and add {{SDG7}} to the image's page. Then reupload the image on the en.wiki. Let me know if you need help/anything else! Pbroks13 (talk) 19:39, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@NS writings: You may have to wait until the draft is approved until you can upload the image on the english wikipedia under fair-use, however. Pbroks13 (talk) 19:42, 15 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there[edit]

About Flag of Islamic State of Indonesia[edit]

Hey Pbroks13, my friend had sent me an enlightment about this problem. This flag is not correct, the correct version lies on page 63 and 64 on this file. Can you recreate it? Thanks.--Jeromi Mikhael (talk) 05:21, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jeromi Mikhael: Is the color scheme #1, #2, or #3 on page 64? Pbroks13 (talk) 14:29, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Jeromi Mikhael: I've uploaded it file over File:Flag of Islamic State of Indonesia.svg. Pbroks13 (talk) 14:47, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A Barnstar for you[edit]

Hello Pbroks13. Thank you for your great contributions to The Graphics Lab. So here’s a barn star for you! --大诺史 (talk) 23:33, 6 June 2019 (UTC) [reply]

@大诺史: Thank you! Pbroks13 (talk) 20:08, 7 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

correcting files (Thanks)[edit]

In File:Obesity Table.svg did you remove the text on purpose? I assume phab:T36947 and phab:T43424 was the rendering issue you "fixed". The text >>fix rendering errors<< is missleading because you "also removed visible elements" (the vertical text contained the Source). PS: Thanks for your great contribution in Commons. (I saw you fixed serveral SVGs)  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 06:23, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@JoKalliauer: Ah, no, I did not even see the vertical text! I extracted the image from the source pdf and thought that the original uploader had removed that text, so I did as well. But, I see now that it just wasn't rendering in the thumbnail. Thank you for letting me know, I'll be sure to fix it. Pbroks13 (talk) 13:28, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No Worries! It maybe should even be removed, since source and links should be on the descriptionpage not in the picture itself. Since you process some SVGs, I just want to tell you that removing unvisible Text might be undesirable. In this case it is different, that's the reason why I mainly criticiesd the upload-comment not the removent itself. (Don't worry, change it how you think it is best.)  — Johannes Kalliauer - Talk | Contributions 14:32, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Naming files on commons[edit]

Hello, Pbroks13. I did not know that, thanks. In the future I will not make the same mistake. Regards, Edslov (talk) 15:56, 15 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Airport logo SVGs[edit]

Hi, Thank you so much for vectorising many of the Aena airport logos, something which I’ve been trying to do myself. Is there any chance you would be able to vectorise the rest of the Aena logos as well, as some are still in PNG. Also, I noticed there is a typo with the Aena Tenerife logos - they have mistakenly been spelled with a D.

Thanks 20Panorama15 (talk) 23:38, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@20Panorama15: Where are they located? There is no "Aena" category. Pbrks (talk) 14:08, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My mistake. Category is called “Logos of airports in Spain”. Some have been converted to SVG and some haven’t. 20Panorama15 (talk) 22:12, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Overwatch World Cup Finals 2017.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. @BevinKacon: I am a bit confused here. The issue is that you can see the game that they are playing on the screen? I was under the impression that as long as there is perspective (that is, it’s not a direct picture of a copyrighted picture) that the image was okay. Thanks. Pbrks (talk) 00:46, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, I see I was mistaken. Pbrks (talk) 12:56, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Need your help[edit]

Hi brother, could you please re-size the logo down-stairs to 135× 55px, because it is very big.

here is the new logo

-Af420 (talk) 13:23, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Af420: I assume you meant 135 x 155. Done. Pbrks (talk) 13:40, 1 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
sorry i worked on the file too, when i uploaded it, it became a new version - your code is nice, handmade - i used inkscape
what do you think?
we should both use the template {{I take|1=~~~~}}
--Mrmw (talk) 22:57, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Mrmw: Haha, whoops. I was actually thinking as I started working on it that I should have put up the {{I take}} tag but brushed it off. Oh well. I don't mind either way if you keep it overwritten or not, they both achieve the same purpose. Feel free to work on they other flag in the request, I haven't started on that one and wasn't planning to do so for a few days. Pbrks (talk) 23:07, 5 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. Sorry I'm worried If you have the time, can you create this logo ? AFU logo. Thanк you. CalalC99 (talк) 19:50, 3 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CalalC99: What exactly do you mean? Also, the logo is (presumably) copyrighted, so I can't upload a copy of it here. Pbrks (talk) 14:35, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
There was a Free Thougth University in Azerbaijan in 2009-2013. Can you make a logo for it? There is a logo in this source. Can you make that logo and drop it to Commons? CalalC99 (talк)
@CalalC99: File:Free Thought University logo.svg How is that? Pbrks (talk) 22:46, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanк you very much. Spectacular. Excuse me, I've seen it now. Thanкs again. I would liкe to asк you one more. In 2015-2016, there was a second devaluation in Azerbaijan. At this time 14 banкs closed. Now these banner logos are not available online. There is more precision, but in very low quality. Can you help me with this? Needed to create an extensive article on devaluation. You have been a great help. Thanк you. CalalC99 (talк) 07:54, 15 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Will you maкe the logos? CalalC99 (talк) 17:58, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CalalC99: I am sorry, but I am unable to find much information regarding copyright law in Azerbaijan, and without that, I cannot upload these files to Commons. Are these works considered non-copyrightable in Azerbaijan? If you can find information about the threshold of originality in Azerbaijan, let me know. Pbrks (talk) 18:08, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
See Articles 6 and 7 of this Law. This At the same time, these banкs have ceased to exist. Their logos are covered. CalalC99 (talк) 20:02, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CalalC99: Article 6 states:

1. Objects of copyright are ... sculpture, painting, graphics, design, lithographic works, graphic stories, comics and other works of fine arts;

Logos are graphics. Moreover, Article 7 states:

The following are not copyrights: a) official documents (laws, court decisions, other legislative, administrative or judicial texts), as well as their official translations; b) State symbols and signs (flags, emblems, anthems, orders, monetary signs, other state symbols and signs); c) examples of folklore (folklore); (d) Information of the day, information about various events and facts.

Nothing in Article 7 excludes logos of banks, regardless if they no longer exist, or the threshold of originality to be copyrightable. Pbrks (talk) 21:23, 16 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Then you can maкe the logo by placing the letter © ? ThisCalalC99 (talк) 10:12, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CalalC99: No, unless there is proof that these logos are not subject to copyright in Azerbaijan, they are not allowed to be uploaded on Commons. Pbrks (talk) 16:03, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So, can you upload the photos to the English Wiкedia or the Azerbaijani Wiкipedia? CalalC99 (talк) 16:32, 17 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CalalC99: Per en:WP:FREER, if the copyright holders did not make their own SVG images, we should not make them ourselves. Pbrks (talk) 01:22, 18 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So, can you maкe those logos and send them to my e-mail address? I will not use Wiкi projects. Just need a presentation. I can't maкe a logo at all. Please asк for my help. CalalC99 (talк) 11:18, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CalalC99: No, I will not make possibly copyrighted logos. Pbrks (talk) 04:54, 22 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

File:Historical Flag of Split.svg[edit]

One final request re Historical Flag of Split.svg, if I can trouble you. If you look at the original image, at the corners (in the upper left and right of) the shield, you'll notice the "gothic rectangles" end up blue on both sides. Whereas in the Commons vector image, they end up white in the left corner. Could you please make them blue in both corners (per source)? Apparently they care about that in heraldry... :) --Director (talk) 14:58, 28 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I guess in short I'm trying to say: there should be blue squares at both corners of the shield. :P Thanks in advance for your time! --Director (talk) 10:21, 30 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Director: Sorry, I've been on vacation the past week. I did notice that both ends did have blue in each top corner, but I assumed the image was meant to be symmetrical, so I left it. I've made an adjustment, let me know what you think. Pbrks (talk) 05:28, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Pbrks: Oh there's no rush, personally I'm just delighted people care :)). With how lazy the city government is, I wouldn't be surprised your/enWiki's vector version gets adopted in some way or another. Sort of "by default"... Anyway, it's a damn tricky coa. I'm in contact with this fellow who's something of a local heraldry expert. Here's the feedback:
  • it's supposed to just have the four towers, with walls to the left and right being minimal. Think there's any way to "reduce their presence" a bit?
  • the gothic rectangles at the lower (pointy) end of the (French) escutcheon seem to be smaller this time around. They get squeezed together.. become smaller. Perhaps they could be done a bit better..?
--Director (talk) 11:23, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Director: No problem. I'll knock it out in the coming days. Pbrks (talk) 06:25, 9 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Director: Sorry for the delay. Take a look now (ctrl+F5) and let me know what you think. Pbrks (talk) 15:30, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Saludos.--LocoWiki (talk) 05:54, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@LocoWiki: If you are not the author, why did you claim to be? I've removed the "copyright violation" tags and added "no permission" tag. In the future, do not claim to be the author of images that you are not. Pbrks (talk) 05:59, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Es porque siempre subo las imágenes rápido y dejo la primera licencia predeterminada hasta que el autor envíe el mail. Pero no volverá a pasar. En la próxima que sea así pondré que falta el permiso. Saludos.--LocoWiki (talk) 06:18, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@LocoWiki: Please follow the steps at COM:OTRS when uploading such files; namely, add {{subst:OP}} to the "source" field. It will eliminate the possibility of the files being prematurely deleted and will ensure that you don't get blocked for copyright violations. Pbrks (talk) 18:53, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Muchas gracias.--LocoWiki (talk) 09:41, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
