Greetings! I am interested to find out why you removed Category:Brother and Sister from (1) File:Lily Rusek et al.jpg‎, (2) File:Ingrid Trolle et al.jpg‎ and (3) File:Stan Truhlsen Sr et al.jpg‎? Hello. The Category:Brother and Sister ist part of the Category:Grimm's Fairy Tales. «Brother and Sister» is the name of a fairy tale (in German «Bruederchen und Schwesterchen» and has nothing to do with 'normal' brothers and sisters. --Parpan (talk) 00:01, 28 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hi again! This is an excellent idea, of course, but not at all clear. The way it looks now, people have the right to assume they can add photos of brothers and sisters in general. Only the capital letters on both siblings give your thought away, vaguely. I will create a new category for siblings in general and make yours a subcategory to it. rename instead of badname[edit]

Hi Parpan05,
if you think an image has an unfitting filename such as File:Tiefenhoflinde Zürich 1830.jpg, you can add the template {{Rename}} (with the proper options) on the description page (not on the talkpage). The command {{Bad name}} is not suitable for that, but used if there are two identical copies of the same file. --Túrelio (talk) 10:43, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sehr geehrter Herr Michel Ich bin sehr erstaunt, Bilder die in meinem Besitz sind auf Wikipedia zu finden. Auch wenn der Autor sicherlich vor über hundert Jahren verstorben ist, so ist es doch nicht mehr als Recht, wenn man den Besitzer frägt, ob das Bild veröffentlicht werden darf. Dazu sollte dann mindestens die Quelle korrekt angegeben werden. Es handelt sich dabei nicht um das Buch von Frau Michel.

Guten Tag Herr Wyss. Ich habe das Bild, wie in der Bildbeschreibung erwähnt, dem Buch von Therese Bichsel: "Schöne Schifferin. Auf den Spuren einer aussergewöhnlichen Frau. Zytglogge, Bern 1997" entnommen. Damit habe ich die Quelle korrekt angegeben. Bilder wie dieses, deren Schutzdauer schon längst abgelaufen ist und die demzufolge gemeinfrei sind, werden jeden Tag wohl zu Hunderten auf Wikimedia Commons hochgeladen. So liegen auf Commons, als ein Beispiel unter vielen, auch die Bilder von Albert Anker aus der Privatsammlung von Christoph Blocher. Caumasee-Kategorien[edit]

Hallo Parpan05.

Ich erwäge den Hochlad einer gewissen Anzahl von Caumasee-Bildern. Normalerweise gibt es ja Jahrgangs-Kategorien. Ich überlegte mir: Warum beim Caumasee nicht Monats-Kategorien? Caumasee in November ist nun mal anders als Caumasee in July. Das wäre doch dann eben auch sinnvoller als nach Jahr. Man kann dann immer noch wie zum Beispiel hier mit Kategorie June 2021 in the canton of Graubünden "schmücken". Was meinst du mal als erster zu meiner spontanen Idee? Hallo Caumasee, das sehe ich durchaus positiv. Angesichts der zahlreichen Aufnahmen des Sees scheint mir eine Aufteilung nach Monaten sinnvoll, wird dadurch doch die übervolle Gesamt-Cat. sinnvoll aufgeteilt. Ich lasse mir noch Zeit: Vielleicht hat die Logik ja doch einen Fehler.
Schöne Drohnen-Bilder übrigens und gleich noch eine Frage: In der Commons-Hilfe wird aTube Catcher für Konversion von Videos vorgeschlagen für den Upload auf Commons. Bei iPhone-Filmen im MOV-Format funktioniert das aber überhaupt nicht (ich finde keine Einstellmöglichkeiten).
Welche Möglichkeiten/Programme sind tauglich? Hast du zufällig eine Ahnung betr. Konverson MOV nach VP9?--Caumasee (talk) 20:26, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Vielleicht kannst du ja mal mit einem oder zwei Monaten beginnen, so als Testlauf? Ich glaube zwar kaum, dass sie da ein Protestgebrüll erheben wird. Was Filme und deren Bearbeitung angeht: Hier habe ich keine oder nur rudimentäre Erfahrungen. Gerade erst gesehen, verzeih. Ich habe allerdings deinen Hinweis auf die Löschdikussion von 2012 in der jetzigen Löschdiskussion gesehen und da habe ich dir schon geantwortet. Ich halte an meinem Löschantrag fest doch pausiere ich erstmal mit weiteren Löschanträgen bis andere entschieden sind. Ich muss doch sagen dass bis jetzt die allermeisten meiner Anträge gutgeheissen wurden und ich wäre überrascht wenn dieser nicht auch durchkommen würde. Meine Beweggründe sind denke ich freundlich. Ich möchte mich für viele deiner Files auch bedanken, denn ich denke dass sie dem Allgemeinwohl absolut zudienlich sind. Mir wurden aber selber mal viele Files zur Löschung vorgeschlagen und ich fand die Art und Weise wie das getan wurde (ohne Antworten zum Beispiel, Löschanträge auch für Files mit gültiger License, Löschanträge auf Landschaftsbilder...etc.) und ich wurde dabei zuvor (consider the real-world consequences...) wie auch danach eher heftig (und wie man dann auch sah zu unrecht) kritisiert. Das war nicht grad angenehm was ich da mitmachte und vor sowas möchte ich jede/n bewahren, wenn ich das denn kann. Wenn ich Files zur Löschung nominiere oder für no permission tagge, dann weil ich es ähnlich woanders auch schon so gesehen habe oder ich zuvor mit der gleichen Begründung auch schon Erfolg hatte.
