Vaya lío tienes[edit]

(About Image:Príncipe BaltasarCarlos cazador Velázquez lou.jpg)

I've read your request at Commons:Picture_requests#Eurocalculator. So I took mine and made a picture of it. If this [1] is what you want, I (or you) can upload it. Just let me know if it's what you desire. --Jailbird 6 July 2005 12:42 (UTC)

Ok, have just uploaded it to the Commons and inserted the picture in the Spanish and English articles. But since I don't speak a word Spanish, you should do the caption there yourself. --Jailbird 9 July 2005 11:03 (UTC)

Taller graphico[edit]

Oh, that ! you don't speak french, no worry, image haven't any language~ The choice is more enter the english one, which have an higher level : they make illustration (what need time and really good habilities); and the french one, which is more basic : we just cleanup images. We build this basic taller because we aren't enough, or good enough, and that's why this little taller is able on the french wiki, and maybe on the spanish : because we choice a work which don't need many people and don't new great abilities. I think wiki-es will soon do the same than the french one, and this day you will be able to copy the french one :] Yug talk 03:52, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

--Prevert(talk) 07:20, 1 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Orgullobot[edit]

Hi, I left some questions on Commons:Village_pump#Orgullobot. Thanks, pfctdayelise (translate?) 23:23, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I love your bot! :D It should really improve the process at COM:DEL and hopefully we won't ever have people complaining about Commons admins deleting images in use again. I'm impressed that there might even be a "reversion" bot. I think as long as there is some way of accessing the record of where it orphaned images, manually unorphaning them is OK (hopefully this will very rarely be needed).
Here's a related problem: what about substituting an image for another? This is common in replacing PNG images with SVG. As in, the bot looks everywhere for the use of the PNG image, and in every instance replaces it with the SVG image. That seems like a pretty similar problem. I think the SVG people would love it if you could solve that one. :)
Also an unrelated problem, that I would like to see a solution for: on en: there is a script en:User:Jnothman/afd helper. It has two parts. Firstly, it gives each article a "nominate for AFD" link in the "toolbox" section on the left. Then it gives each AFD discussion a "vote" link next to the regular "edit" section". This second bit, is not necessary for commons, but the first bit could be very useful. "Deletion helper" would only apply to images. When you click "Nominate for deletion", it adds {{Deletion request}} to that image, then puts {{subst:Idw|IMAGE NAME}} on the uploader's page. (This doesn't exist in the AFD Helper, and it's what I would really like to see in a Commons tool. Not sure how hard it would be.) Then it opens up template:deletion requests and puts this
=== [[Article or :image title]] ===
REASON --~~~~
* {{vd}} --~~~~
while filling in the image title. the user then has to change the reason.
Whew. OK, what do you think? Is it possible? :)
Thanks, pfctdayelise (translate?) 00:47, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I left a comment about a possible substitution-bot at Category_talk:Redundant#A_way_to_simplify_this. Now, for this bot. It would be great if there was an easy way for admins to use it, rather than having to ask you every time. Could it be turned into a standalone tool like CheckUsage? (But, it would have to check that someone was a commons admin as well - it would be terrible if it got abused by just anyone). Or make an extra link in the toolbox or an extra tab on the image page, in a script that was somehow restricted to admins? (Hmm, I don't think that would be possible because everyone can see the source...) Hm...I can't think of a good solution for that just yet. pfctdayelise (translate?) 01:13, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought of how the bot can be used easily by just admins! Have special pages that just list images for it to orphan/replace (one page for each). Protect both these pages so only admins can edit them. Then only admins can add new entries. And the bot can just go through each page once a day or something, and remove an entry after it has checked it. What do you think, is it possible? pfctdayelise (translate?) 00:09, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's fine if there are a few manual cases - admins should expect that - the important thing is that the bot can flag these very clearly and loudly to the admin, so they know that they have to check them before deleting the image. pfctdayelise (translate?) 01:43, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I found where the "SVG people" are - at Commons:Transition to SVG. Well, I hope so. :) I made a note there about your bot too. pfctdayelise (translate?) 12:54, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Orgullo. Are you aware of wikinews:Wikinews:Bots? Are you planning to make a bot to copy Commons images directly to Wikinews? (By the way, if you want Wikinews:User:Orgullobot, I'll be happy to give you that account. ;) User:dbenbenn 09:23, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, I am aware. I don't take sides on these types of issues. I am only writing the bot because someone asked me too, and as long as it doesn't kill anyone, I'm not worried about the political part. I couldn't care less if people store their images on commons, locally, or in their shoes. Ah, and no thanks, I'll just register a different account.--Orgullomoore 10:33, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you change your mind, and decide you want that account, please just send me an email and I'll send you the password. User:dbenbenn 13:55, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bot requests?[edit]

Hello, Orgullomoore. Haven't seen you around for a while...

I was wondering if you're still running your bot here? And if so, would I be able to make delinking requests to you on a semi-regular basis?

For example, Image:TJC.jpg needs delinking. It's used in 33 wikipedias! Which reminds me, did you ever get a chance to implement the multi-language messages? :)

cheers, pfctdayelise (translate?) 14:15, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

:( That's really disappointing! Maybe we just have to wait for the universal login.
We could hide the fact that it's a bot by renaming it something like "delinker", maybe? Hmm, I don't think active fraud will go down very well. :) Would you mind showing me some of the messages? --pfctdayelise (translate?) 22:34, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sigh... that's really annoying. We REALLY REALLY need a bot to do this work. It's not fun for ANYONE to delink an image from dozens of articles. Because no one enjoys doing it, no one does it, and then images stay for ages and ages instead of being deleted... I wonder if these projects would prefer the redlinks? Somehow I doubt it.
Although I do disagree with replacing PNGs with SVGs en masse, but that was not the fault of the bot or the bot operator but the person who made such a request. Nyeh. Let's pray that we can do something with a universal login system. What are you up to these days if not botting? pfctdayelise (translate?) 14:01, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I thought of maybe what we can do.
  1. get universal login.
  2. set up a delinker bot only to be (requested to be) used by Commons admins when an image is being speedy deleted or has been decided to delete from COM:DEL.
  3. when the bot delinks, it should somehow save a list of articles it changed. then, if there's a problem, there's a reference list for a human to go and fix.
  4. it should make it clear that the bot is not to be held responsible for the changes, but the Commons admin who requested it to be used.
  5. local projects should be told about it (announcement on their VP). If they dislike it, they should either supply human volunteers to do such delinking or accept redlinks caused by image deletion ( ;) somehow this might not be popular)
  6. then, finally, we can go ahead! pfctdayelise (translate?) 15:13, 1 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

knot images[edit]

i do not know why did you removed the title on the image of the know, you have done it already with two of the knots. is there a problem about having an edge? i am uploading the knots now as svg. when there is no reason for the edge then have a look at the others:

i would prefer edges to stay becouse then i can have the same look on all articles. so tell me why is that you remove the edges? —LadyofHats 12:45, 8 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category moves[edit]

Anybody object to moving Category:Maps of New York to Category:Maps of New York State? ...
I support, and my bot can do the job, unless you like doing it by hand, of course ;) ...

Thanks for your generous offer, Orgullomore!  Regardless of the debate re New York (City/State), I've identified at least three non-contentious moves I'd be grateful for a bot to handle. (Yes, I have done some mass categorisation by hand and it nearly fell off.) One is a simple matter of incorrect capitalisation; the other two are categories I created and populated, but whose names I've now decided are unhelpful.

But before I continue, please let me know how easy, tricky, demanding or undemanding such requests would be. I'd like to know what it's reasonable for me to ask. Thanks, David Kernow 17:20, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...The problem is, I don't have bot status on Commons...yet. I've hinted at it before but I never got a firm answer. So I think I'll do that now...

According to Commons:Bots, "A bot flag can be requested at Commons:Administrators", so maybe you should copy your Village Pump request there...?  There doesn't appear to be any description of how a request is handled, though. I'd hope that if after say a week there was no objection, or at least a consensus in favor, a 'bot admin' would present a flag... Regards, David 10:32, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just seen that there's a list of eleven bots waiting to be checked, which is four more than those listed above (presumably with flag) so I wonder how long we'd have to wait... David 10:38, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

::Hmm...perhaps I should be brave and run it without a flag? (With a long nap between each edit....)--Orgullomoore 10:48, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If that might upset people, it would be counter-productive. Perhaps if you place the request in Commons:Bots, wait a day or two and if there's no reponse, try asking one of the people whose bot has been flagged how they managed to gain a flag (and how long it took, etc.)...?  Regards, David 11:04, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BTW I don't mean to suggest that you stop the Orgullobot thread at the Village Pump; all good feedback for the 'bot admins' to consider... David 11:08, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In case you didn't see, I left a comment for you three days ago at Commons:Village pump#Orgullobot would love to have a flag. User:dbenbenn 23:12, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Riight. That could be done, but isn't a bit dangerous? It gives any user the power to incriminate the bot moving any category to any other one, and that can be a hefty task to revert if two categories are merged. How would I make sure it's actually a legitimate request?--Orgullomoore 02:28, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
w:User:NekoDaemon only does the move if an administrator is the most recent editor of the category. That ought to solve the problem. (Bonus points if Orgullobot makes a log of non-admin rejected category moves.) User:dbenbenn 05:34, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've got Orgullobot working on category redirects. Yay, that's awesome! Here's a minor bug report: when updating a category link, the bot could check whether the new category is already there. For example, this edit changed Category:Timor-Leste to Category:East Timor, but East Timor was already there, so now it's there twice. User:dbenbenn 20:04, 30 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've got Orgullobot working on category redirects. Yay, that's awesome!
Yes indeed (hello dbenbenn!) so do we start adding requests here...?  Thanks, David Kernow 12:38, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that will be fine.--Orgullomoore 18:00, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Great – I've just added four rename requests to User talk:Orgullobot/commands per the documentation (which seems very clear – nice work!) so here's hoping all works well. Thanks again, David 22:57, 5 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi chaps, sorry to butt in, but is this kind of working now? If so, we should publicise it a bit (at least on Commons:Bots). Can we also add a big notice to User:Orgullobot/commands just reminding admins that it should always remain protected (in fact, can Orgullobot only follow it if it is protected? that we be a good protection too), and if the idea is that non-admins add commands to User talk:Orgullobot/commands and admins transfer them across if appropriate, can we add something to that effect too? --pfctdayelise (translate?) 12:30, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, bud. Yes, it's working. Yes, we can and I think we should publicize it more (though I don't want to be annoying...). Yes, we can and I think we should add a notice. No, the bot doesn't touch the page if it's not protected (good idea, but I had it first :P). Yes, we can and should add a notice about the talk page. --Orgullomoore 21:07, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No tag bot[edit]

Hi Orgullomoore. If you're interested in extending User:Orgullobot, here's an idea that would be really useful: tagging newly-uploaded images that don't have source or license tag. w:User:OrphanBot does that on the English Wikipedia. Specifically, if an image is uploaded with a blank image description page, Orgullobot could add {{subst:nsd}}. And if an image is uploaded with no copyright tag, Orgullobot could add {{Untagged}} (a template we'd want to create). Of course, the bot can get a list of newly-uploaded images to check from Special:Newimages, especially using the "Show new changes starting from" feature. Cheers, User:dbenbenn 02:13, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, dbenbenn. That sounds like a great idea, thanks for bringing it up. The first part (if an image is uploaded with absolutely no description at all) is very easy, and I will get on this tonight. For the second request, however, we would need two things: 1) For the template to be created first and (2) for the bot to keep an updated list of all the possible license tags, but it definitely seems feasible. Let me know what you think, ciao--Orgullomoore 04:55, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For "no license tag" we have {{subst:nld}} yet. See {{Nld}} --Sanbec ✉ 09:05, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
I made Template:Untagged. I think it's better to have a separate template. An image with no copyright tag might very well have copyright information (for example, "I took this photo, and it's GFDL."), so one has to be a little more careful when deleting.
Category:License tags is your updated list of copyright tags. User:dbenbenn 15:11, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've got it running. How would you say it's doing? Anything you would change?--Orgullomoore 03:30, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! A minor bug: at Image:Animal0026.gif the bot replaced the image description with {{No source since}}; instead it should have appended {{Untagged}}.
w:User:OrphanBot also leaves messages on uploaders' talk pages. I have no idea about the details, but you might want to consider doing that, too. User:dbenbenn 03:44, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is too quick (instant!). It should allow at least 20 minutes if not 2 hours before tagging images. Some people might upload a bunch and then put the summary, or whatever. Give them a small chance, at least! pfctdayelise (translate?) 10:35, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, don't! Anyone who doesn't put the tag in the upload summary can easily remove the {{Untagged}} when they do add the tag. User:dbenbenn 03:37, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm...now I'm being pushed and pulled. Since two or three people asked me to wait (desired time period ranging from 20 minutes to 24 hrs.), I put a wait time of 2 hrs. Could you guys talk amongst each other and work something out? For now, I'll leave it at 2 hrs. As far as I'm concerned, it really doesn't make a difference.--Orgullomoore 03:41, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, obviously you have the situation under control; I didn't mean to tell you what to do. I guess it is better to wait now that you're doing talk page messages, too.
About the talk page messages[2]: perhaps you could make it subst a template? (Have the bot do something like {{subst:no tag message}} ~~~~) Then we could provide translations, similar to Template:Idw. That would be nicer to people who don't speak English. User:dbenbenn 04:33, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bah, I don't have the situation under control, I just do what they tell me to do... :P It's when they tell me to do two opposite things that I start to scratch my head. In any case, no offense taken, just a bit of confusion. Regarding the messages, sounds like a good idea. I'll get on it soon. Ciao--Orgullomoore 04:36, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
:) I just think waiting a little while is a good idea because it still gets the job done without annoying people who know the process but are just slow. Also you might want to consider setting up a special page for people to respond at, since I can foresee your talk page getting flooded pretty quickly. pfctdayelise (translate?) 08:08, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rotterdam after World War II[edit]

Hello,

You noticed that a forgot to tag a Picture called Rotterdam_after_World_War_II. I tried to change the licensing or tag but I don't know how. Picture is owned by Rotterdam City Archive, photograhper is unknown. Picture dates back to 1940 (so, during the war). Picutre can be used for personal, educational and/or non-commercial purposes and only in low resolution. Could you please tell me how to change the tag?? I tried it using 'edit' but it did not work.

O, and furthermore. I uploaded a wrong picutre under the name: Rotterdam_Harbour.jpg But I don't know how to delete is.

Hallo Orgullomoore, I have translated your template to German. It is not a verbatim translation (if you look in the dictionary). It would be great if you could insert this languege version in your template. To help the newbies I also inserted links to help/information pages of the shown problems in German. Copyrights[edit]

Hello O. I noticed your remarks on my "User talk" about the missing copy right indications. I added the template {{PD-self}} to the 3 images "NYW-TransmissieL-Smith01/02/03.png" because I made them myself. As for the 2 other images "Lattice_....", I only corrected them. They were allready present. I can not trace, however, the originals in the history. I'm rather not to experienced. Maybe you're able to find them, and notice the copy right status. The Images: Image:Lattice of the divisibility of 60.png and Image:Lattice of the divisibility of 60.svg, are not complete and have been correced by me. I didn't create them however. As far as I have seen they are not used any more and may be removed.Nijdam 16:04, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is actually extremely useful to identify these active and new users. I checked out several of their contribs and there were quite some copyvios. Could Orgullobot also produce a list of people it's welcomed? Then I can easily check them and delete the copyvios, tag the NSDs, etc. pfctdayelise (translate?) 12:02, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Using Orgullobot[edit]

Hi again Orgullomore,
Is it possible for someone who isn't an admin to be permitted to add tasks to User:Orgullobot/commands?  If so, I'd be very grateful to be given this privilege. I'm taking part in an overhaul of Category:Maps and, as you can see from here, having Orgullobot move map categories sooner rather than later will make the work much easier. Yours hopefully, David Kernow 11:26, 22 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We're gonna have to think of something tricky...first I'll take a nap :-D--Orgullomoore 00:06, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I just had an idea that I think will work, I'll let you know when I get the kinks out of it.--Orgullomoore 03:51, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your replies, Orgullomore. If your idea works, great; otherwise, perhaps I may be made a temporary admin for a fixed period, subject to review and extension...?  Regards, David 15:38, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Try adding your requests to here ...
Have just done so. I was warned that no skin called "orgullobot" existed, but am guessing that's because User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css isn't (going to be) associated with one. Thanks for your efforts to help; much appreciated!  Yours, David 22:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...Okay,

(a) I think User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css is working!
(b) I realise Orgullobot doesn't create the new categories or delete the previous ones once it has moved their contents... is this intentional / a necessary limitation / something else...?

Thanks for what looks like some nifty work!  Best wishes, David 00:41, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Maps in Galician[edit]

En la siguiente edición de Orgullobot:

(diff) (hist) . . m Category:Maps in Galician; 22:46 . . Orgullobot (Talk | contribs)
(Robot: Changing Category:Historical maps of Silesia)

--Prevert(talk) 09:29, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Changing Category:Historical maps of Silesia[edit]

I noticed that this bot has been making changes with the wrong edit summary, it comes up with the message "Changing Category:Historical maps of Silesia" on a whole bunch of pages in my watchlist that have nothing to do with silesia. no big deal since the category changed ok, but just pointing it out Astrokey44 21:21, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bot error [and Orgullobot stalls?][edit]

Your bot replaced the Category:Country locator maps on several images with Category:Locator maps for countries but this cat is not existing. Please have a look what happened there! See Image:Europe location BG.png as example. --Denniss 22:29, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From User talk:Denniss#User talk:Orgullomoore#Bot error [and Orgullobot stalls?]:
I'm responsible for asking Orgullobot to move these maps; I've since realised that Orgullbot doesn't create new categories itself (perhaps this is a necessary limitation; am enquiring) but you should find Category:Locator maps for countries now exists. Sorry for the hiatus. Best wishes, David Kernow 05:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to realising Orgullbot doesn't or can't create new categories, I've also noticed a few of the category moves I've requested via User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css have stalled. They appear on the current version of User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css as of now as the requests that are still active. If there isn't a quick fix, no problem; let me know and I'll complete the moves manually. Orgullobot has already saved much time and effort with the map categories and I look forward to much more!  Yours, David 05:38, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey David: Thank you for your patience with my bot. Regarding the category moves, there is no reason why the bot doesn't move an existing category page to the new, non-existing one. This is something that has been brought to my attention before, but that I haven't had time to work on. I shall try to find the time to do so some time this week...

Thanks for your message!  Considering all the time and energy Orgullobot saves moving the contents of categories, it's a small chore to need to convert a redlink category into blue. In fact, it gives me the opportunity to check the new category's own categorisation. Also, I realise that not all categories Orgullobot leaves behind are best deleted; some deserve a {{Categoryredirect}} as users may search for them. In other words, don't feel pressured from this corner to try to "fix" this behavior – it has its own quirky benefits!  (If when/you do fix it, perhaps even include a parameter/switch for Orgullobot users to toggle and stop Orgullbot from deleting the old category and creating the new one, i.e. to revert to Orgullobot's current behavior!)

Also, regarding the appearent stalls, there are many reasons these can occur. One thing, for example, could be that I lose electricity in my home (due to a storm, outage, a virus on my computer--whatever)...

I hadn't realised Orgullobot's operation relied on your computer – although, thinking about it, I realise that's probably sensible. Understood and appreciated.

At other times, the bot produces errors and brings the bot to a screeching hault. With time and tinkering, these have become less common and more manageable, but perfection is difficult to reach ;).

Ditto (i.e. understood and appreciated). It's curious how Orgullobot either doesn't retry – or, if it does, make any more progress – with a move that was left incomplete. A quick scan of the few requested moves on User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css that Orgullobot left incomplete didn't suggest a pattern, i.e. something systematic causing Orgullobot to abort – for a while I wondered if it might be lowercase "[[category:...]]" entries – but I haven't taken a close look at them. If subsequent stalls prompt an idea, I'll let you know.

As an additional trivial sidenote, I'm glad the /orgullobot.css thing worked out for you. Speaking of this page, note that <!--commenting out--> requests has no effect on the bot. If that request has been carried out, the best thing is for you to remove it from the page, and if you wish to archive your requests, move it to another page. Ciao--Orgullomoore 21:45, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; I've now moved previous completed requests to User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css/previous, although it's just occurred to me that maybe they need to be moved away from /orgullobot.css/... entirely...?  Best wishes and thanks again for a very useful bot!  Yours, David 00:05, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, this conversation is getting so complex :-D. Let's see.
Orgullobot doesn't retry when an error occurs because it's usually an error in my own programming ... I just caught one of these recently so you may come to find that now some of those cat moves that just wouldn't go before now do.

Understood. I'll let you know if/when I realise Orgullobot has now completed some of the moves that previously stalled.

Your constant reminding me about things that Orgullobot does wrong or of things that you would have Orgullobot do is very helpful to me. Thank you for your dedication.

Seems little compared to the dedication needed to construct and maintain one of these bots!  It's my pleasure to contribute whatever I can to such a useful tool. Re extending Orgullobot's abilities to include creating and deleting categories, the thought occurred to me that deletion might not be a good idea even if Orgullobot were able to do it; instead, could Orgullobot be made to insert a {{Categoryredirect}} once it finishes (or aborts) depopulating a category?  I reckon this should (a) make accountability/reversion easier; and (b) if Orgullobot aborts rather than completes a category move, users can more easily find where Orgullobot has placed the population it has managed to move. Also, I guess placing a {{Categoryredirect}} would be easier to implement. What do you think?

...As long as [requests] are removed specifically from User:David Kernow/orgullobot.css then the bot will not touch them...

Thanks; I'll continue to move them to /orgullobot.css/previous for checking before losing sight of them.

Best wishes, David 03:35, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orgullobot: Good news and a query[edit]

Hi Orgullomoore,
I found out why Orgullobot seemed incapable/unwilling to move these categories: they used templates to insert their "[[Category:...]]" entries. (Take a look at this for an example.) So I've amended the categories specified by the templates accordingly – there's nothing amiss with Orgullobot!

However, moving the last category listed in the first link above (Category:California county locator maps) looks more tricky. The category for each map image is specified thus:

[[Category:California {{{type|county}}} locator maps]]

Would Orgullobot be able to cope with the following and other similarly unusual syntax?

{{move cat|California {{{type|county}}} locator maps|Locator maps for Californian counties (white)}}

I haven't tried it to see in case the unusual syntax causes Orgullobot to grind to a halt. I'm glad, though, that the problems I've had trying to rename these categories don't originate from Orgullobot.

Yours, David Kernow 15:43, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You changed category name from Category:Subcarpathian Voivodship Counties to Category:Locator maps for subcarpathian voivodships of Poland, but this name is bad - it should be Category:Locator maps for subcarpathian voivodship counties of Poland or Category:Locator maps for counties of subcarpathian voivodship of Poland.
mir @ 18:29, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Though Orgullomoore's Orgullobot made the change, I gave the instruction; thanks for pointing out my error. I'll now instruct Orgullobot to rename the category to Category:Locator maps for subcarpathian voivodship counties of Poland. Hope that's okay. Regards, David Kernow 03:59, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now it's looking OK :) mir @ 06:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Orgullomoore,
Thanks for your reply re the above; it's good to know amending more sophisticated category names is possible. I'm going to postpone trying to update Category:California county locator maps however, as I feel I ought to seek the creator User:Dbenbenn's approval. In the meantime, there are still other map categories awaiting Orgullobot's magic. Best wishes, David Kernow 07:25, 2 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

an idea...[edit]

Saludos. --Ciencia Al Poder 09:52, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Orgullomoore! Please check Image:Coin_TL_01cent.PNG, Image:Coin_TL_05cent.PNG, Image:Coin_TL_10cent.PNG and Image:Coin_TL_25cent.PNG, if the licence peroblem is now fixed. The original poster at Tetum-Wikipedia gave free licence for use there and I only published them here. If there is another way needed, please inform me how to do it. Greetings, --Patrick 07:20, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank your for sharing your files with Commons. There seems to be a problem regarding the description and or licensing of this particular file. Could you please resolve these problems, which are described on the page linked in above? Thank you.--Orgullomoore

It was a empty fiel, an empty photo so I deleted the information to see if it would delete itself, I guess not. I will go back and put a delete tag on it, Thanks for letting me know, I believe there is a second one out there as well.WayneRay 10:35, 14 June 2006 (UTC)WayneRay[reply]

Pregunta[edit]

Saludos. Barcex 00:31, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Hollywood_sign1.jpg[edit]

Hi Orgullomoore, thank you for your message. In actual fact, I downloaded a file called Image:Hollywood_sign1.JPG in order to do some improvement on Photoshop, but the software changed the file extension to lower case (Image:Hollywood_sign1.jpg) when I uploaded it.

I have uploaded the improved image in Image:Hollywood_sign1.JPG dan as such, the file Image:Hollywood_sign1.jpg ought to be deleted. In fact, I left a message in the file that says: "Please delete photo. I was trying to edit Image:Hollywood sign1.JPG." LOL. The lettering obviously was not clear enough to attract your attention. — PM Poon 07:04, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I can't figure out why this user got a welcome...?! :) Maybe a small glitch, not important. pfctdayelise (translate?) 09:50, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you should still be able to see that in the logs, or somewhere...? pfctdayelise (translate?) 10:07, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Licencia equivocada[edit]

--SMP (talk page) 14:22, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the own works of this user are probably copyvio, e.g. Image:Farmacia llivia.jpg (a postcard), Image:Llivia1.jpg and Image:Castell.JPG (Google Earth screenshots), Image:Llivia-25000-fullscan-60procentverkleind.jpg, Image:Llivia-fullscan.jpg, Image:Llivia-1-15000-gestitchte-scan-jpg50procent.jpg and Image:Llivia planol.jpg (scanned maps). In addition, if you type "Llívia" in Google Images Search you will find most of his other contributions.--81.36.147.116 15:06, 19 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for pointing that out.--Orgullomoore 06:03, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No!

Admin[edit]

Hello. Congratulations. You are now a Wikimedia Commons administrator and you now can place {{user admin}} on your user page. Don't loose the fun with these admin rights. ;-) If you have any questions for example on deletion guidelines just ask me (I am as well on IRC in #wikipedia-de oder #wikimedia-commons channel most of the time). By the way Category:Against policy and Category:Unknown need urgently some help on reducing the number of copyvios awaiting their deletion. ;-) Have fun, Arnomane 09:55, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Butterfly On Pink Flower.jpg[edit]

Thanks for the heads-up, let me know if there are any more problems. The photgraph is my own, I took it myself, so now I believe it has the correct tags. Mattman723 03:37, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, The photograph is my own, I took it myself. I thought I had uploaded with the tag "Own Work.." but I must have done something wrong. And I am not able to change it. Sorry for my clumsiness. Any help is welcome! --Gipsy 05:57, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orgullobot making bad substitutions[edit]

As part of its substitutions for category:satellite pictures, Orgullobot is changing the wikitext to read "category:category:satellite pictures" (here's one example - http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Image:Wfm_jura_landsat.jpg&diff=2224882&oldid=1731635) -- Finlay McWalter 23:57, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'Tis my mistake, Finlay; a typo I passed onto Orgullobot. The error should be reverted now, but if you find any exceptions, please let me know. Apologies, David Kernow 02:07, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There was no photo when I found it, so I only deleted the category it was in so it didnt' show in the article as a red rectngle. Whomever uploaded it didnt attach the picture or something and probably should be deleted I can only assume, WayneRay 02:14, 26 June 2006 (UTC)WayneRay[reply]

Gracias! --KamaradeHacker 23:52, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Orgullomoore, you told me about copyrightproblems with the above image. Like I mentioned in the description: it is from en:districts of ghana, "Created by (user:)Rarelibra for public domain use". Where is the problem? If there is one, there will be much more. There are all in all 11 images like this, 7 of them I loaded down in commons - I plan to do this with 4 more. Best regards, looking forward to your answer Ahanta 13:49, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

please keep your bot a bit short[edit]

I am sysop-bureaucrat on cs.wikisource and therefore I support to controll all images and texts if they have a proper licence. But what your bot is doing is a bit strange. i uploaded today the image Image:Kiplingcropped.jpg, and after some seconds I wanted to upload all informations on the picture incl. the licence. But there was an edit conflict with your bot. You must programm it a little bit else, it must wait a moment after the first upload, not to give the messages 5 seconds after the upload. It leads to edit conflictc and other problems. Please do it. -jkb- 15:14, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guh, algún error ha ocurrido. No debería avisar tan pronto. Gracias a los dos por avisar.
Guh, an error has occurred. It shouldn't be warning that quickly. Thanks to the two of you for noticing.--Orgullomoore 16:17, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What happened is that I used to run that bot on my own computere and I have recently moved them to the m:Toolserver, and the system time is obviously different, so the bot was moving 7 hours ahead of time!--Orgullomoore 16:20, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Multiwiki bot support[edit]

--Prevert(talk) 17:54, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
