Do you want to have a file renamed or moved? Use the move link and wait for an authorized user to rename it. Do you want to have your recently uploaded picture removed? I found all the photos I nominated tonight at COM:Photo challenge except for the one of the caterpillar, which was nominated at VIC. This one was #2 in the November 2016 challenge to shoot towers. The one from the Czech Republic just above this one was #1 that same month. File:View to One World Trade Center.jpg – small corrections for Featured Picture nomination

Hi, I nominated your image here: Commons:Featured picture candidates/File:View to One World Trade Center.jpg, but the image needs a slight perspective correction so that all vertical buildings are perfectly vertical in the photo (the One World Trade Center has slanted edges, but the other buildings don't) and some noise reduction in the sky. I would offer you to do those corrections for you if you send me the RAW file (use a web file upload service and I can give me my e mail address to send me the link), because editing the JPG would degrade the quality. – Lucas^T 19:28, 28 February 2017 (UTC)

Please use sub-categories

When categorising files, please avoid placing them into several categories that are directly linked within the same tree (e.g. a parent category and a child category – like Category:United Kingdom and Category:London), to prevent over-categorization of files and over-population of categories. Usually, only the most specific category should be used. See Commons:Categories for more details. Thank you.

Please avoid categories that are very general like Zoology, Landscapes or the name of the country. For example, in File:Braies lake in autumn.jpg I removed Category:Lake, Category:Italy, Category:Landscapes and Category:Alps since they are not specific enough. I replaced them with Category:Pragser Wildsee (the name of the lake) and Category:Landscapes of South Tyrol. Sometimes your English descriptions or titles already contain the name of the most specific category. Wiki Loves Folklore 2022 is on!

Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photography contest hosted on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from around the world, such as folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folktales, folk games, folk religion, mythology, and many more.

The campaign invites participants to document photographs, videos, and audios linked to folk culture and fit within the contest's theme. Through this campaign, you may become a part of a community dedicated to preserving our intangible culture, which has been brought and passed down for thousands of years.

How to Contribute?

The dates for the submission in the photography contest on Wikimedia Commons are from 1 February to 31 March 2023. Probably you are wondering how you can take part.
