Why do you add this to copyright violations? This the seal and logo of the Town of Carrefour in Haiti. Here's the page of the Mayor and the town.

Where may we find a free license or indication of public domain status for that? @Εὐθυμένης: thanks for tagging it.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 11:24, 1 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Any document produced by the Haitian government is in the public domain by law. I am Haitian and this is the seal(coat of arms) of the city where I come from. There is no copyright infringement. Click on the link(The Mayor) that I provided above and ask the Mayor of the Town himself. I'm just here to help and I don't why you keep tagging all files as possible copyright violation. Oaurelien (talk) 12:06, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly which law is that, and does it pertain to documents produced by towns? Why is it not documented at COM:HAITI?   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 12:26, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Oaurelien.

You have uploaded one or more files that are copyright violations. You have done so despite requests from editors not to do so, and despite their instructions. See Commons:Licensing for the copyright policy on Wikimedia Commons. You may also find Commons:Copyright rules by subject matter useful.

This is your last warning. The next time you upload a file that violates copyright, you will be blocked. Please leave me a message if you have further questions.

Thanks for uploading File:Map of communal section of Carrefour, Haiti.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:Map of communal section of Carrefour, Haiti.jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Hi, I am a collector and I am Haitian. Besides the photos I inherited from my families, I regularly buy old photos, books, postcards, artifacts... related to Haiti. The photos I upload here, I own them and I did not violate the copyright of wikipedia. I don't why you assumed a person who repost the photo on twitter is the owner. He does not own the photos. Here's link where I first post the photo on my personal Facebook accounts in 2013.

You are allowed to do that on Facebook and Instagram because those sites allow Fair Use. We don't allow Fair Use here.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 12:46, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If I own a photo, can't I upload it? Oaurelien (talk) 13:15, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you own a photo, you may not upload it here unless you have the copyright to it, it has a free license, or it is in the public domain. If you upload it anyway, you may be blocked for that upload.   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 13:19, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This file may be deleted.
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:Jean-Jacques Dessalines Coat of arms.jpg, is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such works would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a map that has been altered from the original. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the description page states who made this derivative work, it currently doesn't specify who created the original work, so the overall copyright status is unclear. If you did not create the original work depicted in this image, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright.

Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted. If you created the original content yourself, enter this information as the source. If someone else created the content, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you!

Once again, I'm here to help and I didn't violate any copyright law. This part of my collections. Here's the link where I first posted this photo on my personal Facebook account.

I'm also an Artist. I made this from the original: Here's the link where I posted the photo on my instagram on July 25 2020.

How is that different from the original? Where may I see the original? Why do you not cite the sources of your derivative works?   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 13:14, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not different. I don't understand what you mean by "cite the sources of my derivative works". I own the photos and the documents. Oaurelien (talk) 13:33, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
So when you wrote "I made this from the original" above, did you mean that you photographed your physical copy of that coat of arms? If so, what camera did you use, and where did you get that physical copy?   — Jeff G. please ping or talk to me 13:39, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said before, I'm a collector. I regularly buy vintage photos, books, documents, letters, postcards... anything related to Haiti and its history at auctions. I usually take photos of the original with my phone and posted them on my pages(instagram, Facebook, twitter) and my blog. Oaurelien (talk) 13:55, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
