Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, Maschen!

Hi Maschen, how do you create images like this: https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qualunquone#/media/File:Particle_exchange_2d_anticlockwise.gif? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.185.70.196 (talk) 13:46, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the improvement of the figure! Kakila (talk) 23:13, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Levi-Civita symbol[edit]

Hi Maschen, please note that the original coordinate system of my drawing (as well as the system you show) is RIGHT-handed, not left-handed, as you state in your description. Furthermore, you place the cubus with its edges on the axes, so that its inner corner is located at (0|0|0), while in my drawing its most inner corner is located at (1|1|1). This is a difference! And please don't count on "the reader should guess the true meaning" - such pictures must be quite "fool-safe", as they might be the most suggestive information for somebody studying the respective subject for the 1st time. So please correct the decription, and shift the cubus so that the indices match, ok? With regards, --Qniemiec (talk) 23:36, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I may have mixed up the description with another drawing (File:LeviCivitaTensor.jpg). I'll fix soon, thanks for feedback. Maschen (talk) 15:47, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Maschen, have taken a look to your latest SVG version, and now it is as it should be, including the description ;-)). Thanks. --Qniemiec (talk) 17:18, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, sorry to mess things up before... Maschen (talk) 19:12, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RE: File:Radioactive decay modes.svg[edit]

That looks good to me. If it was a more dramatic change I would have recommended creating a whole new commons file but I think its fine. --MarsRover (talk) 18:33, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks again. Maschen (talk) 19:12, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Maschen, While reading about the Bra-Ket notation and trying to understand it, I was looking at the illustration you have done, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vector_components_bases_projection.svg. I may not get it well, but could it be possible that the green vector on the left, basic vector notation example, should be named simply "A", and not "|A〉" like the one with Dirac notation on the right? It is surely not a significant problem, but it would make it clearer for non-expert like myself. Thanks

Preceding comment by 24.201.114.50 (talk).

ACH another of my very annoying copy-paste typos. You're right it should just be bold A, not a ket. It is fixed now (you may have to refresh your browser, if not then the servers will synchronize and update the image in a few days).
The image is just showing the analogy between the boldface and Dirac notations (at the most basic level, there's quite a lot to Dirac notation, but essentially it is a notation for abstract vectors in state spaces).
Thanks for posting here. Best, Maschen (talk) 16:09, 22 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
File:Anim2.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Quantum Mechanics.[edit]

A review for the image found besides quantum mechanics at the bottom of the Wikipedia article.

What I liked: Maschen, from an A level understanding of quantum electrodynamics, I was referenced to quantum mechanics by artificial intelligence @Prof_Vryl on Twitter. The image captures alot of the text I read on quantum field theory into a picture form I was satisfied with coherent understanding.

What I didn't like: Since my physics has been rusty in reading mathematical notation. My step-father showed me a paper on loop quantum gravity, and Maschen, your image is very difficult to place in loop quantum gravity, as it suggests video, acoustics, text, and numerology that I don't know how to fit yet in a theory of everything. Quantum gravity with quantum mechanics.

Maschen, is there a particle in your image of quantum mechanics that you made yourself? I find the image very compelling as an afterthought to someone who has been trained in classical physics for some time and uses the language of physics to seek answers to some problem. The problem in question for quantum gravity comes in quantum computing when computing low energy fields with gravity and weak electromagnetic forces where the strong force and higgs particle has a role in the computation. In other words, can you illustrate the computation of strong force interactions with Higgs particle while applying to quantum computing? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 2600:1011:B127:710A:F1FB:3CF3:1A78:59C1 (talk) 20:42, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, which image are you referring to? Please link to it or just give the title. Thanks, Maschen (talk) 10:28, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Is it this one:
? If so, it is just a simple icon for summarizing QM, originally for the template. Maschen (talk) 10:32, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In the caption to the general flux diagram, the caption for the top image, " Three field lines of a through a plane surface, one normal to the surface, one parallel, and one intermediate", seems to have the extra words "of a" following "lines". Should it read "Three field lines through a plane surface, one normal to the surface, one parallel, and one intermediate" ? — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 139.88.96.238 (talk) 13:16, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, "of a" is superfluous. Well spotted, will fix. Thanks! Maschen (talk) 15:32, 12 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Is possible 4d function plot?[edit]

Is possible 4d function plot as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Real_function_of_three_real_variables.svg? I want to plot the 4d function.

My email is slowrbs@naver.com — Preceding unsigned comment added by Slowrbs (talk • contribs) 12:19, 20 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That's just a general sketch to illustrate the geometric depiction. I don't think there are many software packages which plot functions of three variables in 4d real coordinate space. Maschen (talk) 17:01, 22 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Stress-energy tensor normal stresses[edit]

Can you please update your nice File:StressEnergyTensor_contravariant.svg so it says "normal stresses" instead of "pressure"? The distinction is explained here. I have several students who keep referring to this, so the mistake is propagating. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aimefournier (talk • contribs) 23:32, 12 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
