File:Mini-Marathon5014.JPG has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

This media may be deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:שמוליק מזרחי.jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you.

The uploader of the picture is the person depicted in the image. His actual name is the username (user:Shmulikmz1 for Shmulik Mizrachi), plus, at the talk page of the article about him, in he.wikipedia (he actually wrote himself), he specifically mentions that it is him. I would leave a message in his talk page and we'll see if he answers, though the chances may be slim, as he doesn't contribute to Wikipedia since getting this article about him in left in the project. Ldorfman (talk) 14:28, 31 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello Ldorfman, I would apreciate it if you will stop cropping my pictures. Acoording to Commons:CROP policy you have to get my permission to chang the existing file. You can apload the picture after cropping with a new file name. If you do not like my pictures as is, you can always take your camera and take another picture that you will like. For you it is very easy to take pictures of Kiryat Motzkin, you live there, I do not. Thanks Hanay (talk) 16:01, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Hana, please read again what's mentioned on the page you referred to. What I did is considered "Minor improvements", which according to Commons:CROP, is allowed. You reverted a minor crop of unneeded parts of the picture - something that is considered quite usual in the Commons. I believe you've done such cropping yourself, or at least asked others to do it. I guess you know that writing something like "do not change my picture without my permission" isn't allowed since the file has been released to the public. Modifications are allowed according to the terms and conditions, especially when these are minor ones. There's no need for redundant duplications of files. Regarding the last comment, it really doesn't matter I live in the city the same way there aren't only pictures you've taken in the article regarding yours. Ldorfman (talk) 16:22, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
I do not think that what you did is improvement. You have to execept that that aother people can be right. I have the copy right of the picture. The license give you permission to crop it, but If I do not agree, do not change the original pictures. Instad of thanking me, you alow your self to change my pictures. Hanay (talk) 16:36, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
Read peragraph "Controversial or contested changes" Hanay (talk) 16:37, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
When you do not agree to any changes in pictures you take, please write it specifically as a condition for using it, while uploading. I'm not sure it can still be relevant to the Commons then, but it may be debatable. I didn't really understand why should I thank you. Maybe that's a typo. Ldorfman (talk) 16:47, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
I am not going to argue with you endlessly. I wish for you that at least once, you will accept request from you without a debate. I will always restore changes that you will do in my original pictures. Instad of wasting our time, it would be better in the future, if you will take pictures of your hometown by yourself. I am only doing it because you are not. This is my last response here. Hanay (talk) 03:38, 12 January 2018 (UTC)
Hana, You're quite rude and you know that. People aren't forced to do anything, and no one should thank you when you behave this way in such matters. In the case mentioned here, the building has not been inaugurated yet, so what's the rush in running to take pictures?
Other people who read those lines might get the wrong impression about both of us, but after getting to well know you during years of successfully working together, you've changed, and for the wrong reasons. Since then, I get the impression you're more and more trying to annoy others, including me. I will go on doing my regular Wikipedia and Wikimedia work and will try, as much as I can, not to come across you. If I do things somehow you interpret they were intended to hurt you, you're awfully wrong. Ldorfman (talk) 07:35, 19 January 2018 (UTC)

For once, we both agree, Geagea. In this case, all I did is cropping a picture uploaded by User:Shmupo just to make it look better where it is in use (one article and one draft page). Pay attention to the fact this picture appears in Fair Use in he.wikipedia. Ldorfman (talk) 20:14, 18 May 2018 (UTC)
That's the way it's work in Commons. Every uploader notified for possibility that file he uploaded might be deleted. No matter if it is own work or crop version. -- Geagea (talk) 20:43, 20 May 2018 (UTC)

Patrick, as mentioned in the file's details (in Hebrew), this picture was provided by Eli Rahav, who has become a known Wikipedia editor in the HE project - "User:קודקוד צהוב". Hence, the release of this file can be easily verified and should be kept in the Commons. Ldorfman (talk) 00:32, 16 June 2018 (UTC)

Pay attention to copyright
Wikimedia Commons does not accept fair use content.

We do this because Commons is a shared media repository. Downstream wikis have different policies based on local laws. Uses that are acceptable under US law, for example, may not be acceptable in many other countries with more restrictive rules.

In addition, fair use is not compatible with our aim as a collection of freely distributable media files.

Therefore, Commons cannot legally rely on fair use provisions.

Non-free content that may be used with reference to fair use may be uploaded locally if your project allows this.

Of course, Geagea. If you would have looked in the details more deeply, you could see I'm not the one who uploaded this file. Ldorfman (talk) 19:07, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
See the file's upload log. -- Geagea (talk) 09:52, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
Geagea, As can clearly understood from the log, I'm right - I made a crop, only changing the size - not the upload. Besides that, this is a logo made of very simple line and letters, not sophisticated, and hence, can be considered suitable for the Commons. Ldorfman (talk) 16:50, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
You've cropped and uploaded the file. It is well established practice in Commons that uploader of a new version is "responsible" for his new upload. No matter if it was taken from other wiki project or from Commons. Therefore every uploader of new file gets deletion notification. Alredy told you all this before. Try to remember in the next time and check properly the copyright status of your uploads. -- Geagea (talk) 19:23, 31 August 2018 (UTC)
1st, we have not been in contact regatding this issue before, so stop writing "alredy told you" on everything. Also, it's time you stop stalking me, keeping record of any of my actions in the Commons using a bot. 2nd, you did not bring any reasonable response to the fact this logo, even though it is a logo, is a very simple one and can stay in the Commons according to its guidelines. I beleive the reason you chose to delete it is not legit and as the past showed, related only to me having any touch to it. Ldorfman (talk) 09:29, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
Already told you, more than once, cropped version is a new upload and you are the uploader. Deletion notification should be placed is your talk page as the uploader according to our guidelines.
tis logo is not a simple logo, not even the first version. The Israeli law does not subscribe to the "sweat of the brow" doctrine (en:Sweat_of_the_brow#Israel) and even de minimis can not apply her. if you still disagree, you can bring the issue to COM:UDR and explain your argument.
Your beliefs are not very much interesting to me, but you accusing me for "stalking" is serious issue and if you will keep doing it I will address it to the proper venue. Every one nominating files for deletion her, even you. -- Geagea (talk) 11:39, 1 September 2018 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Arik with beret.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.

If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.)

If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there.

Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you.

If you are the copyright holder and the creator of the file, please read Commons:But it's my own work! for tips on how to provide evidence of that.

The file you added has been deleted. If you have written permission from the copyright holder, please have them send us a free license release via COM:VRT. If you believe that the deletion was not in accordance with policy, you may request undeletion. (It is not necessary to request undeletion if using VRT; the file will be automatically restored at the conclusion of the process.)

Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Geagea, How is it related to me? I'm not the one who uploaded this file. Ldorfman (talk) 15:37, 24 February 2020 (UTC)
It was explained to you above - User talk:Ldorfman#File:Logo Aquarium.jpg. Cropped version is a new upload and you are the uploader. There is no difference if you upload it in a new file or the same file. Deletion notification should be placed is your talk page as the uploader according to our guidelines. -- Geagea (talk) 11:20, 2 March 2020 (UTC)
File:Jacob Edelstein.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not.

Thank you!
