Please delete[edit]

Hello, can you please delete this file? It has been tagged as "no permission" for over a week. BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 02:53, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No, because there is a deletion discussion open. Krd 06:45, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's been 18 days and zero people have participated in the discussion. Plus, the file is very blatantly a copyright infringement. Can't you just treat the discussion as an expired subst:npd? BottleOfChocolateMilk (talk) 16:13, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There are around 4800 open deletion requests currently, and I think to 80% of them applies what you said. I don't see any reason to skip the natural order and prefer this deletion over the rest. Krd 17:26, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So basically, any file that gets nominated for deletion essentially has a free pass to stay on Commons for at least a month, no matter how blatant of a copyright infringement it is. If I put a subst:npd on this file when it was uploaded, it would be gone by now. But because someone happened to nominate it for deletion first, this blatantly copyrighted image gets immunity from deletion and will stay on Commons for over a month. About revert[edit]

Please, could you explain it thanks Wilfredor (talk) 11:29, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The ticket doesn’t apply to the file, does it? Krd 12:13, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Same author, same situation. All the author's photos apply to that ticket, I simply scan the photos as I have time, it is not necessary to open another OTRS for each photo I upload. Let me know what do you think. Thanks Wilfredor (talk) 20:28, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree. The ticket gives permission only for the files mentioned in the ticket. Krd 20:37, 31 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The letter attached to the ticket gives permission for all photos by this author. Anything else is mere bureaucracy. Feel free to nominate these photos for deletion so don't just remove the ticket template Wilfredor (talk) 00:05, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"No ticket permission" - can you clarify? Was there no email or was the permission not formatted properly? I asked the photographer (studio) for permission, they verbally agreed and told me they'll send the email with permission for those and other images I uploaded ([1]). Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 02:35, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Most likely no e-mail was received. Please ask them again to send it. Krd 05:47, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd I will. IIRC the email that they were going to send was listing "all files in the category", which is now deleted (Category:Neil Konieczny-Moon). If they give permission for the empty category :P will the files be undeleted? Now they cannot see the files if they haven't before. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 10:15, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Things will get sorted if they contact VRT in any reasonable way. Krd 11:00, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd I heard back from the photographer and I am confused. They fwd'd an email to me that they claim they sent to VRT. Everything seems correct. The email was sent on 27th Feb, it lists the category, free licence, etc. They used the email template from Commons:Email templates in Korean. I can fwd'd you the email or paste it here. Can you tell me what's the problem? From where I stand it looks like the email follows our best practices but VRT ignored the email? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 01:25, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What would you guess how many users does the VRT have who can read Korean? --Krd 04:18, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, machine translation is pretty functional these days... anyway, shortage of VRT voluneers is an issue that WMF needs to solve with some funding, but in the meantime, I'd appreciate information on what I can do to get the images undeleted. Right now I am reminded of the meme "take my money". As in, "take my permission". I have it, I can wave it, but who can bother to check it? Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 11:45, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Can you provide the ticket number? Krd 12:51, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Krd Sadly, no. If it was on the image files, well, I cannot view them as I am not an admin. The photographer did not tell me whether they received any reply - I (well, my wife, I don't speak Korean) talked to them and she did not ask nor did they mention it; but they seemed surprised the photos got deleted because they sent the proper email to VRT (that I now have and as I said I can report or fwd it). It is pretty standard (I advised them on how to write it), links to the category, is signed, and is basically the form we ask people to use, with no changes I see except to fill in the required fields. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 23:01, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please ask them to provide the ticket number, or to send the permission again. Krd 04:02, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will. Is a ticket number issued automatically, and by email? Is it possible for their original email to have been ignored, and can this happen to their new email? I find the lack of transparency in the VRT system troubling. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 10:29, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
When you asked them to send the permission, ask them set set you into CC. So you know if and what they sent and you are in the loop with the conversation. Krd 10:32, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's the plan. Their previous email that was fwd't to me seems to have all the right headers, so I do not understand what was the problem and how to avoid it again. Even if I am cc-ed on it, I may not be cc-ed on reply from VRT, if any is given. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 10:38, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Karten wirklich ohne Lizenzinformation?[edit]

Vaionaut (talk) 13:19, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Die Beispiele, die ich jetzt nochmal geprüft habe, sollen alle "Eigenes Werk" und "CC-by-sa-4.0" sein. Das trifft sicher nicht zu. Krd 16:19, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Danke Krd, verzeih bitte dennoch die Nachfrage: Laut Google-Suche waren Hinweise auf die Openstreetmap hinterlegt ("This map of Fellen was created from OpenStreetMap project data, collected by the community. This map may be incomplete, and may contain errors.
--Krd 16:54, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@EugeneZelenko: You tagged these as dw_no_source but some appear to be valid OpenSteetMap files. Please advise. --Krd 16:54, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For example, license tag on File:Esselbach 500.png was {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} what is obviously wrong: work of other people was used, so {{Self}} claim is invalid, as well as OpenStreetMap license is different ({{CC-BY-SA 2.0}}). Sure, files could be restored, but somebody should fix licenses there. EugeneZelenko (talk) 23:41, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea who could sort all this out. Krd 04:07, 4 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Batman cosplay - Masked Mateo - Photo Jonin.jpg[edit]

Hello,

These 2 files [2] [3] were deleted on August 21, 2022. The reason given is as follows: "No ticket permission achieved for more than 30 days".

However, the author of the photograph had assured me that he had sent the requested authorization (between January 4 and 6, 2022) and had received the Ticket#: ticket:2022010410003811.

Would you be so kind as to verify this and, if necessary, restore the file? Many thanks in advance!

Best regards. Guise (talk) 10:05, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Permission sender did not react to followup questions. --Krd 11:15, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Restore files[edit]

Could you, please restore those files. I don't understand why you've deleted them. Which license do you need for 1) my own fotos ; 2) for screenshots of wikipedia.

Alex Blokha (talk) 23:43, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Krd? Any other information you need to know? Alex Blokha (talk) 20:35, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All information is on your talk page. What is your exact question? Krd 04:53, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Krdbot/lost deletion requests[edit]

---- K@rl (talk) Diskussion 09:59, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Natürlich zählt das. Danke für den Hinweis. --Krd 10:49, 26 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
