Awesome US uploads

Hey, Thanks for such amazing uploads. Do you have any photoshop or photoediting applications? I recommend investing in one so you can edit out your timestamp. No need to know the metadata, that can be displayed in the relevant data set. Nice to see another car spotter

I read up about your profile and your pictures your in the right direction of how a car represent. Even in 2018 Americans still use vehicles that are as early as the 1980s. Seeing a car before 1998 is a rarity in Britain, let alone one that has all there manufacturer hubcaps. I'm glad we got another photographer out and about documenting daily drivers and the camera your using is just above the one I had first before moving to DSLR, Canon PowerShot SX530 HS.

Like you I also go car spotting across the streets around me, looking for the latest/facelifted cars which I started in back in mid 2016. Keep up the great photos, it about time we have a another IFCAR on the Commons. --Vauxford (talk) 02:25, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Hi Again

Great pictures however for convenient sake try and put the pictures into more specified category that is provided within. For example with your 1976 Chevrolet Nova sedan you simply put it in the Chevrolet Nova category which created to categorised to the other variants and generation sub-categories.

If you aren't sure which generation/facelift/performance variant the vehicle is look through the different categories and inspect other pictures and compare them to yours and see if they have similar characteristics (bumpers, headlights, body shape etc). Just keep looking until your picture fits best to one of the categories.

P.S: There might be a better way to do this that I might know of but: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Help:VisualFileChange.js&withJS=MediaWiki:VisualFileChange.js

VisualFileChange is a tool to do mass renaming/deleting etc but it a great way to keep track of which images of yours are being used in a Wikipedia, although they would have at least 1 global usage because you created your gallery in Wikipedia instead of Wikimedia Commons so that could be confusing but I use that tool as it handy to keep track if my images are being used or not.

Great pictures recently

With being able to photograph America's latest vehicle it already proven to be useful for updating automobiles articles that needed some pictures. (Especially the Chevrolet Traverse).

My only advice are is that you should straighten the image, not sure of what software you use but I select the picture, rotate so it more straighten and then crop out the white areas. Another advice which more of a precaution it always good photographing both front and rear if possible, there may be photos on the Commons showing the vehicle's front or rear but depending how good the photo, that could be use as a higher quality image representing that vehicle. Hi!
The "1970 C-10" you uploaded last year is in fact a 1968 model. A 1970 truck would have a different front face: "yours" has the 1967-68 hood, grille and fender emblem + the 1968+ side markers

Hi, thanks for your request. Currently, I'm not in China nor planning to visit again this summer so I won't be able to get images of newer Chinese cars. But hopefully, I'm able to next year. Hi. Please do not overwrite images like you did with File:2017 Cadillac XT5 front 3.18.18.jpg. The second image you uploaded is of a completely different vehicle and could have different copyright claims. In future please upload a new image instead Gbawden (talk) 06:45, 27 March 2019 (UTC)

Flickr Images

Hello Kevauto! May I upload some of your Flickr images on Wikimedia Commons? I know you won't go to China this year because of COVID-19 but, next time you go, will you take a picture of the all new Chevrolet Tracker?-Ee2mba

Currently I'm in the middle of uploading mostly every car I have taken pictures of in China by brand, so no worries, I will get to everything soon. Most of the stuff on my Flickr are just random images that aren't in order. And yes, I will try to capture new Chinese-market vehicles when I visit again. I have asked and gotten permission to upload them on Wikipedia however he/she preferred to stay anonymous so I didn't put in details/online nickname for source. Hi, I'm glad you enjoy my work. As for the Highlander, I wasn't happy with how the image turned out where half the vehicle was shaded which created an unbalanced lighting, so I decided to replace it with a very similar model with better lighting. --Kevauto (talk) 20:34, 7 August 2020 (UTC)

Personally, I bring a point & shoot camera around everywhere I go, in case I spot anything interesting. I have a point & shoot bag that I use for my camera, which is on me whenever I'm outside. There are usually cool cars scattered all over the place, here in NYC, at least. You're bound to find something new if you turn to a corner you haven't been.
