Image:Steenbok_fawn.jpg[edit]
Dear Hustvedt,
Nice photo you have uploaded—thanks for that. One small problem: it is an adult male (horns) rather than a fawn. Best wishes—Grmanners (talk) 18:03, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out, I have fixed it, renaming the file to "Steekbok_sitting.jpg", so that only stuff I actually do know is shown there. Hustvedt (talk) 04:39, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Oboe_modern.pjg[edit]
You should present that photo to featured. I will do that in the spanish wikipedia. Thanks for uploading. OboeCrack 23:43 11 nov 2008 (UTC)
Fiber_optic_illuminated.jpg[edit]
I used your image in a small video on computer communications. Many thanks for making it available under a CC license. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Diomidis Spinellis (talk • contribs) 2009-02-19T01:48:55 (UTC)
- You are welcome. That video is pretty cool. Hustvedt (talk) 17:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
More descriptive description?[edit]
Hello. I was wondering what is the type of lions in your photograph: "File:Lions mating Denver Zoo.jpg"? The male has a black mane, which is supposedly almost extinct. --One last pharaoh (talk) 22:42, 3 March 2009 (UTC)
- Type of Lion? That is just what Denver Zoo has, which might be a "South African Lion", (http://www.denverzoo.org/animals/southafricanLion.asp). I will add that to the photograph description, since you are correct in that the black mane is distinctive. Hustvedt (talk) 05:26, 4 March 2009 (UTC)
On your Golden High School article.... you have a picture of the Golden Mountaineering Center rather then the school. It even says it on the building. I would fix that if I were you. [1]
Go the the school's homepage, they have some good pictures of the school there. : ) I think if you write an article about my school you could at the very least make sure the picture is correct!
Your photo featured[edit]
See here! Congrats! OboeCrack (talk) 01:18, 19 June 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images[edit]
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.
[[Category:Category name]]
For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:
[[Category:Astronomical diagrams]]
[[Category:Comets]]
This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 10:52, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

licensing surveillance camera image for Documentary[edit]
I'm a producer helping out with visual acquisitions for a new documentary. We would like to use your image called File:Three_Surveillance_cameras.jpg. Unfortunately, since we have licensed other 3rd party material, we are unable to do a GNU license. Are you open to providing permissions for us to use this image in our doc? Pls let me know if you'd like to get more details. I can be found at rivkahbeth at hotmail {dot} com. thanks for your attention and great photo!Rivkahbeth (talk) 00:18, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
FrogPad photo[edit]
I saw your photo of the FrogPad keyboard, and other Wikians noted that there is an error in the keyboard markings on this particular one. The photo could be edited so that it shows the proper markings (indeed, I have already done so). The question is, should it be? And do you want it to be? Thank you for your time. - If you have made a version that has "End 9" on the "A" key, go ahead and replace my current image. Where this discussion is taking place? Hustvedt (talk) 01:59, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for your 2008 photo of this weeder. Can I ask a little more about it: which country is this weeder from? If not from an English speaking country, what was it called there? And do you have an idea of its age? Thanks again. Batternut (talk) 13:57, 19 May 2015 (BST)
- This was purchased in Colorado, and is probably less than 10 years old. This does seem to be called a "Weeder" in current store listings, and doesn't seem to have a more specific name. The handle is about 1.5m (5 feet) long Hustvedt (talk) 18:34, 19 May 2015 (UTC)
