"The" in front of a category name

Hi, just to note that, as in Category:United States and Category:Netherlands, we don't put "the" in front of the category names. So you move to Category:The University of Tokyo is not correct. Thank you for your valuable cooperation. --Foroa (talk) 18:03, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for telling me an important information. I just notice the correct name of "Tokyo University" is "the University of Tokyo", and just create without looking for rules of wikimedia commons.... Sorry.--Hohoho (talk) 18:07, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

日本の空港のカテゴライズ

始めまして。 お尋ねの件にお答えします。

あくまでも私見としてなのですが、カテゴリ検索には選択肢が多いほうが好ましいと考えております。単に忙しい人向けと言うだけでなく、関連付けの多いほうが記憶に残りやすく、後々の知識としても役に立つとも思っております。 今のところ、賛同が得られていないようで、画像のアップロードやタグ付けが進んでいないようですが。

空港の場合も、大きな空港以外は正しい名称が分からない場合もありますし、あの都道府県にはいくつの、そしてどんな空港があるのかと、単なる好奇心で見る場合もありますので、このようなカテゴリを作ったわけです。 --Ten-nen 13:19, 27 September 2009 (UTC)天然ガス

On deletion request of Category:Akibamap, etc.

Hi, your point on deletion requests seems superficial and irrelevant. First of all, these media/categories itself doesn't contain any advertisement. Second, the intention of introducing Akibamap is not the advertisement. To categorize hundreds of disordered media under Category:Akihabara, Akibamap was introduced as one of sub-categorization system based on location.

As you know, administrative area definition of Akihabara neighborhood is too complicated and not well fit to real towns (for example, "Akihabara, Taito" is not the electric town, etc), and street name in Japan is unreliable. Therefore we need more reliable area definition.

If you want to delete Akibamap, you should propose alternative sub-area definition. It may be reasonable request from me.

東京大学について

日本語: 突然の連絡、失礼いたします。Category:Presidents of Tokyo Universityの件ですが、調べたところ「Tokyo University」は誤用？(少なくとも大学自身は用いていない)のようで、正しくは「The University of Tokyo」だそうです([1]。他のカテゴリも大抵はUniv. of Tokyoになっていますcategory:Tokyo University, Category:University of Tokyo参照)。既にカテゴリ名修正依頼(User talk:CommonsDelinker/commands)は提出いたしました。 今後のご参考までに。失礼いたします。

日本語: 英語で、両方「The University of X」と「X Univerity」正しいですけど,commonsに日本の大学の名前は「X Univerity」だけあります。たとえば　Category:Universities and colleges in Kantō and Kōshin'etsu regionとCategory:Imperial Universities (Japan)にも東大だけ「The University of X」の名前あります。そしたら「The University of X」少しい非論理的見たい

English: Hi, actually both names in 「The University of X」 and 「X Univerity」 are correct in English, but on Commons only the 「X Univerity」 form is used for Japanese universities. For example in the Category:Universities and colleges in Kantō and Kōshin'etsu region and Category:Imperial Universities (Japan), only Todai is using the 「The University of X」 form. That's why this form seems a bit illogical.
