First steps tutorial

Our first steps tour and our FAQ will help you a lot after registration. They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki—it is really easy.

Getting help

More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel irc:wikimedia-commons #wikimedia-commons (direct access). You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing.

Goodies, tips and tricks
  • Put Babel boxes on your user page so others know what languages you can speak and indicate your graphic abilities.
  • All your uploads are stored in your personal gallery
  • Please sign your name on Talk pages by typing ~~~~
  • Use the CommonSense tool to find good categories for your files (then other people can find them too!)
  • To link to an image page without embedding the image, type: [[:Image:Foo.jpg]], which produces: Image:Foo.jpg
  • If you're copying files from another project, be sure to use the CommonsHelper

Hi Hoebele, Zover ik weet zijn we elkaar nog niet tegengekomen... Althans niet dat ik weet. Ondertussen heb je al gezien dat ik foto's van afgelopen jaar ben gaan uploaden. Ik werk vanuit een spreadsheet en werk gebied voor gebied af en markeer zo welke objecten al gefotografeerd zijn en welke niet. Eijsden-Margraten is nu afgewerkt. Tevens voeg ik de veldkruus-box toe. De vraag is wel soms hoe je snel de juiste categorie terug vindt. Naast het navigeren naar de plaats of de wegkruis-categorie, kun je ook zoeken op de identificatiecode die op de website van veldkruus.nl wordt gebruikt via dit onderstaande zoekvenster: vul na het =-teken het nummer en je krijgt een overzicht van pagina's die er naar linken. Overal waar de veldkruus-box staat, is de categorie via onderstaande te vinden.

Soms lijkt het misschien alsof foto's dubbel zijn, maar ik denk dat het goed is om keuze te hebben. Ook nieuwe foto's na verloop van tijd zijn denk ik welkom en tonen mooi hoe het met het religieus erfgoed door de tijd heen verloopt.

Maar ik heb wel een vraag of je misschien interesse hebt aan meer fototochten? Drie onderwerpen zijn nog niet volledig gefotografeerd in Zuid-Limburg: kunstwerken, soms ook oorlogsmonumenten en meibomen. Lijsten van kunstwerken hebben we al, maar zijn vaak onvolledig. Dit geldt ook regelmatig voor de oorlogsmonumenten. Ik wil later dit jaar een lijst gaan maken op Wikipedia met daarin alle meibomen van Nederland en daarvoor zouden we meer foto's kunnen gebruiken van iedere meiboom en de eventuele oprichting. Misschien kunnen we samen gecoördineerd deze lijsten vervolledigen? Groetjes - Romaine (talk) 16:20, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
