coats of arms[edit]

Hello, I am interested in hiring an artist who knows heraldry. If you are interested, please contact me at coadb@mail.com.

File:Chlorogenic acid.png has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Consider revising the yellow highlighting of svg image of 3-methyl-4-propyloctane[edit]

Please consider revising the yellow highlighting of the svg image of 3-methyl-4-propyloctane found at <https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:IUPAC-alkane-5.svg>.

The image is used at <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IUPAC_nomenclature_of_organic_chemistry#Alkanes>. It has the two side chains highlighted in yellow. But, as you can see, the two images to its left use yellow highlighting to outline the main chain, which is also the rule followed in other images shown in this article. --Wikifan2744 (talk) 21:42, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Attribution of copyright[edit]

Dear Fvasconcellos,

I'd like to use the picture of human dopaminergic pathways (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dopaminergic_pathways.svg), to which you have contributed, for my PhD thesis. May I please have your first and last name for mentioning in the attribution line?

Best regards, Vladimir

Of course. You should probably credit the other creators as well: David Richfield, Filippe Vasconcellos, and Patrick J. Lynch. Best wishes, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 20:18, 5 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I have already found the names of the other contributors, you were the last one. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 144.206.7.239 (talk) 06:22, 06 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Metronidazole[edit]

Hi, I have found you uploaded a skeletal formula of metronidazole that is wrong in terms of atom charges. Experimental data show exactly equal N-O bond lengths of 1.229 and 1.233 Å (from my multipole charge density study and other x-ray data). So I would ask you to consider deleting the wrong file. Cheers, Chrumps (talk) 09:32, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. File:Metronidazole.svg is no longer my version; it was overwritten by User:Vaccinationist over a year ago, as have been many files. You should contact him about altering or deleting the structure. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 15:36, 24 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sulfonate/sulfonic-acid detail of File:Suramin ball-and-stick 2H9T.png[edit]

This structure appears to have just R–S(=O)2(O) groups, which could be confusing to readers. Should they be protonated (sulfonic acid), or have all three S–O bonds be equivalent (dotted pi rather than one single vs two double)? DMacks (talk) 07:11, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, technically the structure is of suramin sodium—but it's missing the sodium atoms. I can see how that could be confusing. I'll try to create another image with delocalized bonds on the sulfonate groups. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 07:20, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Looks great now. Thanks for the quick work! DMacks (talk) 09:01, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jurors for WikiScienceCompetition 2017[edit]

Hi. I can see from the information on your profile that you work or have worked or studied in the academia.

I am looking for expert active wikimedia users with academic background and some bibliometric record (so I can prepare their wikidata item) to work as jurors for the next Wiki Science Competition.

You are Brazilian and I am helping User:Chicocvenancio to enlarge the Brazilian Jury. But we could also put in the international second-level jury. Or both, if you have time.

Would you be interested to join?

The jurors are not supposed to be all wikimedians, but we wish to promote the use of the images on the platforms and show that there is a continuum between the wiki-world and the academia.

Let me know. The event starts on 01/11/2017. We can define the last details of the jury during the month of November, but we'd like to be almost ready in two weeks, in order to provide the challengers with a rough idea of the composition of the juries.

In any case, we can contact you next time if you are still interested but you can't join this time.

Regards.--Alexmar983 (talk) 07:34, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Alex! Sorry it took me so long to reply. I haven't been very active lately. I can't join this year, but perhaps next time! And thank you for thinking of me. Best, Fvasconcellos (t·c) 17:21, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Carbon chains colouring[edit]

Hi! I'm triing to translate the page with the IUPAC nomenclature of organic chemstry to portuguese, and I'm having problems to find a way of colouring the carbon chains images and giving a name under it like you did, if you could point me a software that can do this kind of work I would apreciate. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liuzp1 (talk • contribs) 21:52, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Geometry of bicyclobutane[edit]

In the last structure of your File:Saturated C4 hydrocarbons ball-and-stick.png image, it appears that the two H at the ring fusion are trans to each other, which means that the fusion of the two cyclopropanes is trans. That seems pretty unstable. en:Bicyclobutane says (with cite) that it is cis-fused. Could you double-check my eyes? DMacks (talk) 06:02, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you and I wait for your answer. --Coquimbo58 (talk) 01:45, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ascription of Copyright[edit]

Dear Fvasconcellos, I'm writing an essay for my school in Austria about the MAOA and I'd like to use your image ( https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Monoamine_oxidase_A_2BXS.png ) and I wanted to ask you if it's okey for you if I use it and that it may be published? If it's okey for you then I'd ask you to drop me your (and from other contributors) first and last name for the credit. Thank u very much beforehand! :)

Hi Pia-Alice. Yes, you may use it and it may be published, I have released it into the public domain, so no ascription of copyright is necessary; I waive all intellectual property rights related to all of the images/artwork I create and upload here. Feel free to do with it what you wish! I hope it is useful. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 18:17, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Help for wikipedia list Armorial of British universities[edit]

Greetings I have recently made edits to the above wikipedia list. Most of them being uploads of heraldic images from Wikimedia Commons of UK universities with the objective of improving the scope of the list. There is still a lot of work to be done on this, for example ~70 univerities are missing (mostly 'new' universities) and also many entries are missing pieces of information. The Wikipedia List of universities in the United Kingdom could serve as a reference for those institutions eligible for inclusion. I am making this request in response to your kind invitation to 'be of assistance', noting your interest in heraldry and experience as an editor. If adding to the above wikipedia list appeals to you, your help would be greatly appreciated. Best regards Hjamesberglen (talk) 13:40, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely, I'll have a look and see what I can do to help! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 16:16, 26 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

British South Africa Company[edit]

Hello! I hope you're keeping well?

I was wondering whether you might please help with some tweaks to the BSAC insignia, which you worked on in the past? Having just been to the Bulawayo Museum, there are a few changes that are needed:

  • The ivory tusk needs to go down to the banner
  • The font needs to be a bit bolder

I've taken a photo of the original flag, which you can see here:

The flags that need a tweak are:

At the same time, do you think it might be possible to develop an SVG of the BSAC coat of arms please?

Thank you so much in advance. Mangwanani (talk) 19:39, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, that shouldn't be too hard! I'll see what I can do. Fvasconcellos (t·c) 20:17, 27 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

In case you fancy a stab at it, I've added a picture of the BSAC Arms as they are carved on Charter House in case that helps with things. The gold circles in the top section are supposed to represent gold nuggets, and then the gold oblong shapes in the bottom section are supposed to be ears of corn. Thanks so much for your work on this; it really is amazing! Mangwanani (talk) 19:03, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Fvasconcellos, you're now a filemover. When moving files please respect the following advice:

  • Use the CommonsDelinker link in the {{Rename}} template to order a bot to replace all ocurrences of the old title with the new one. Or, if there was no rename-request, please use the Move & Replace-tab.
  • Please leave a redirect behind unless you have a valid reason not to do so. Other projects, including those using InstantCommons, might be using the file even though they don't show up in the global usage. Deleting the redirects would break their file references. Please see this section of the file rename guideline for more information.
  • Please know and follow the file rename guidelines.
