You added Category:Companies based in Pennsylvania to Category:Restaurants in Pennsylvania. I'm not sure that is a good fit, because there are photos in the category of Category:Restaurants in Pennsylvania that are not really based in Pennsylvania like File:Quiznos Sub franchise Pittsburgh Craig 02.JPG, File:Howard Johnsons restaurant 1999 PA entrance.jpg. Not all restaurants in a state are going to be companies based in that state. --Mjrmtg (talk) 03:10, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The same applies to adding to Category:Companies based in Oklahoma to Category:Gas stations in Oklahoma, not all gas stations in Oklahoma are companies based in Oklahoma. I'm sure Shell gas, Conoco gas, etc are not based in Oklahoma. --Mjrmtg (talk) 03:18, 21 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you're right. Thanks for catching that! --Funandtrvl (talk) 17:22, 22 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indexing in subcategories[edit]

Hello. Thank you in advnce for stopping this sort of incorrect modifications - I've noticed its recurrence now across a vast range of similar categories. I think you want to know that subcategories that are in concern with the nature of the file rather than aspects or behavior of the topic itself (such as "xxx in art" or "Videos of xxx") are indexed together as a thematic sort-group at the top while the plain alphabetical array is reserved for subcategories about characters of the topic itself ("Nature of xxx", "Politics of xxx"...). Thank you for the clarification. Funandtrvl (talk) 18:21, 14 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Salespeople has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.

If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category.

In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you!
