Hello! In this map File:Lenguas_altaicas.png you created, the yellow shading on the Koreanic languages doesn't seem to be correct. Here is a source of Korean languages map, and as you can see the shading on that map is different than the one on this map. Perdona que fuese tan brusco antes pero es que no quería que se desperdiciara tu trabajo con algo que iba a estar mal, pero como lo vi de casualidad te avisé de forma rápida porque en ese momento estaba ocupado y no podía darte más explicaciones. Perdona de nuevo, no he podido responderte antes porque hasta este momento no he estado libre, lo siento.

Tienes razón que el problema es la fusión de los ayuntamientos de Oza y Cesuras (ahora denominado Oza-Cesuras), es el único problema que hay, pero no pueden quedar mal porque eses mapas son los que se usan en todos los artículos de ayuntamientos de la Galipedia. También estoy de acuerdo contigo en que esos mapas son mejores que los anteriores, pero arreglando ese problema.

Otra cosa a tener en cuenta es que no puede cambiarse sólo una parte de los mapas porque, como ya te comenté, son los que se usan en la Galipedia en todos los artículos, y no quedaría nada bien que unos artículos tengan un mapa y otros uno de otro estilo. Pues entonces genial! Yo los mapas que no pude arreglar fueron los de las provincias porque como están en formato SVG no sé que les pasa que hacían que el Inkscape se bloqueara. Teño referencias e o problema que encontrei e que o galego non é falado no norte de Portugal como di o mapa que señalaste sobre Melgaço tamén non hai consenso xeral sobre o status da fala da Extremadura hai partidarios que é un dialecto do galego, outros do portugués e por último os da lingua autónoma, nin os filólogos o clasificaron aínda. E unha cousa máis no teu outro mapa sobre o idioma galego as localidades de Zamora, Hermisende e Calabor non falan galego, falan portugués. Aqui pode ver o outro:

You have to correct the misleading information concerning Togo and Equatorial Guinea - the former being an integral part of francophone Africa, the latter having French as a co-official language => Both dark blue! These two are immediate musts if you do not want that others see you as a manipulator in your own pro Castilian cause...
PS: Speaking of which: Your Spanish-language map exagerates here and there (Andorra not hispanophone whatsoever, only official language is Catalan... and do you have any sourcing for, say, Canada?!)

Gracias por corregir la discrepancia en la leyenda. Sobre lo otro, es cierto que en estos territorios, cuando hablamos en castellano, solemos acercarnos más al castellano septentrional, pero la pronunciación de la r final ni siquiera es un rasgo uniforme en la zona donde el castellano sí es la lengua propia tradicional (el mapa muestra una zona en Soria y Ribera del Ebro). Me parece temerario asumir que estas áreas no suelen presentar variedades fonéticas en el castellano, sin fuentes que lo indiquen. Pienso especialmente en el castellano donde se habla catalán / valenciano / mallorquín / etc. Si sabemos que en otros aspectos sufre interferencias de la pronunciación del catalán, no veo que podamos desechar sin más influencia en este aspecto, dado que en catalán suele elidirse la R final. Y aunque no se hiciera, seguiría siendo relevante la información del mapa original de Jotamartin de que en esa zonas la lengua 'propia' histórica es otra. --Javier ME (talk) 19:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hola. Veo que subiste una versión sobre otra en la que se incluyen territorios en la Antártida. De momento esos no son territorios argentinos como tales (ya que no se han reconocido, al menos que yo sepa). Por otra parte, has sobreescrito la versión anterior. Por cierto que no es la misma situación, dado que esas imágenes que enlazas no hablan sobre las relaciones diplomáticas entre dos países, sino que son bien claras en sus objetivos. Hello, could you please credit the data sources you used to create those maps? There has been a (vague) comment on fr:wikipedia about their accuracy, and since you did not provide your sources there is no real basis for discussion for improving the maps eventually.

This lack of sources is in fact a general issue with many linguistic maps you created over the years, as shown by your discussion page. I see that some of your more recent ones include credits, could you please consider doing this systematically? You must be aware that the repartition of languages is often a sensitive issue loaded with political implications, liable to disruption and misuse by people with a nationalistic agenda. It is thus all the more necessary to provide your sources very carefully so that the data may be checked and the points of view attributed.

I think you make a mistake here. In the card is the Netherlands blue (for countries with a capital whose on the coast). But the capital of the Netherlands is Amsterdam, and that city is not on the coast. It should be light-red in my opinion. ːWell, you're wrong there. Amsterdam has a 'coast line' in Het IJsselmeer/Markermeer, that is a lake inside the Netherlands (with fresh water). The Wadden sea is above the Afsluitdijk and the water is salt there, so the Afsluitdijk devides it. Chechnya needs to be corrected in File:LGTB en Europa.png. Chechnya is de-jure and also de-facto (it is no longer a breakaway state since 2000) part of the Russian Federation. The federal Russian LGBT laws apply in Chechnya, like all federal Russian laws. There is no death penalty for being LGBT in Chechnya, because the death penalty is abolished in the entire Russian Federation. That is why Chechnya needs to be colored in beige like the rest of Russia. It is true, that LGBT people are most persecuted in Chechnya, but that is a separate subject, separate from the legal status of LGBT people as a whole in Russia. The persecution of LGBT people are extrajudicial (illegal), in the form of arrests, torture and extrajudicial killings by family members or pro-Chechen government gangs. You should add a note on the map pinned on Chechnya providing a link to the persecution of LGBT people.

Thanks for that interesting map. There is certainly an SVG as the source of this, or another vector graphic which can be saved as SVG. It would be great if you could publish that version, so that one can add the language names and other items in various languages. SVG has this facility, which allows the automatic selection of a given language from the context where this image is included.
See examples in Category:Multilingual SVG diagrams, and tutorial in [translations within one SVG file]. I have not looked at all those (currently) 20 files in that category, but from those I had looked at, the File:Clitoris_Anatomy.svg shows the best solution in my humble view.

Question on Arabian dialect map[edit]

Hello. Regarding this map of Peninsular Arabic dialects, I was wondering what you've based it on. It's very wrong with some cases, but looks very specific that I've wondered why it looks like this, like the windy borders in deserts, the very large area for Hijazi Arabic, Gulf Arabic (a coastal dialect) covering a huge area in the desert.
