Thank you for your contributions to Commons. I noticed File:Limited recognition.png is out of date. Somaliland is recognised by Taiwan, hence it should be "Non-UN member states recognised only by other non-UN member states" Could you update it? Thanks again. No, the map is correct. As per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somaliland%E2%80%93Taiwan_relations and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_relations_of_Somaliland , Somaliland and ROC have an agreement on technical cooperation and maintain informal diplomatic representations, but do not formally recognize one another. —Emil J. 05:59, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
- No, you're wrong, as that map is really outdated, those contents from enwiki are controlled by Wiz9999 which are using 2012 resources, by their resources, it's still possible to say that there are no official diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Somaliland. But Taiwan and Somaliland founded represent each other in 2020, it's very normal that reflecting new events by old resources are impossible. While there's still nothing published by Taiwanese government that directly say "joint communique between Taiwan and Somaliland", as per [1], [2] and [3], there are those documents that are de facto joint communiques between both:
- Bilateral protocol between the government of Republic of China (Taiwan) and the government of Republic of Somaliland
- Medical cooperation agreement between the government of Republic of China (Taiwan) and the government of Republic of Somaliland
- Technical cooperation agreement between the government of Republic of China (Taiwan) and the government of Republic of Somaliland
- These documents are using the government of Republic of China (Taiwan) and the government of Republic of Somaliland as signatories, hence it's very easy to say that they are recognised. Moreover, this is not the first ever case that Taiwanese government recognised one non-UN state, but not established diplomatic relations. In 1970s, did you ever remember the Republic of Khmer (Stalinism "country" ruled by Cambodian Lon Nol)? They were having intercourse heat collaterals, were having delegations each other, and were having bilateral agreements, e.g. Trade Aggrement between the government of Republic of China and the government of Republic of Khmer, Agreement between the government of Republic of China and the government of Republic of Khmer on technical cooperation in livestock and feed production, Interim Agreement between the government of Republic of China and the government of Republic of Khmer on International Civil Aviation, etc. But, until the dissolution of R.Khmer, they never had diplomatic relation established.
