Biosphere GPS is designed for wildlife watchers, hikers, anglers, and hunters to help them find species, habitats and, ecosystems of interest[3]. The business is currently a technology startup focused on developing software for mobile operating systems and web browsers[3].

1. Ownership

Biosphere GPS was incorporated November 22, 2018 by Jordan Ahee, its founder and CEO. Jordan Ahee currently owns 100 percent of its shares and controls 100 percent of shareholder voting power[5].

2. Origin of company name

A biosphere is the sum of all ecosystems on a planet. All life on earth lives inside this planet’s biosphere. A global positioning system (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that provides geolocation and time information to GPS receivers anywhere on earth. The name ‘Biosphere GPS’ is therefore a combination of these two concepts, which expresses the company’s larger goal to be mapping service that focuses on the geography of all organisms on earth[5].

3. Mapping products

Land Cover - Physical material on the surface of the earth Habitats - Type of natural environment in which a particular species lives Bathymetry - Depth of major water bodies Ecoregions - Areas with distinct landscapes and species compositions Watersheds - Drainage basins where water flows based on elevation of the landscape Parks - Regions that have been set aside for a certain level of preservation Weather Radar - Intensity and motion of precipitation
