Hello Bryan, no comments of yours was ever deleted. I had to reupload the whole page because I caused an editing conflict, and this is what probabily gave you the impression that your text was changed, but it was solely my own text that was changed in such a way, not yours. (Unless the edition conflict came with you...).

On the other hand, it is you who deleted my changes, not the reverse. Since I had edited the text trying to soften it down and to be less angry than I had been in my first answer, please pay attention to your reversals, since you put back my angrier text, whereas I wanted to try and being a bit more calm in my answer. We are not here to fight, but to buid. Thank you. --User:G.dallorto 17:02, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Ferrol

Thank for your help with Commons:Administrators'_noticeboard/Attention#Users_editing_Ferrol.2C_related_pages_and_categories. All IPs I see in gallery history are from Opal Telecom in United Kingdom. Greetings. --Prevert(talk) 16:57, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, it seems that you have deleted this picture. The picture was overwritten by someone at the end of the month (juni), I believe that the older version did not have any license or source problem. Can you give me more information, this image is used by thousands of articles in the french wikipedia. Kelson 10:13, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Thx, unfortunately the old picture is not very clean too... Kelson 07:26, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, did you got the author? I contacted him 1 month ago from sxc but no response :(. This photo is valuable, hope a favorable issue. Greudin 20:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

CommonsDelinker patch checkusage.py

Siebrand 22:24, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

checkusage.py:209: self.cursor.execute('SELECT dbname, domain FROM toolserver.wiki WHERE server in (1, 2) ORDER BY size DESC LIMIT %s', (limit, ))
checkusage.py:216: self.cursor.execute('SELECT dbname, domain FROM toolserver.wiki WHERE server in (1, 2)')
-- Bryan (talk to me) 08:42, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Groet, Siebrand 21:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

SXC warning criteria

On that basis it is concluded that the image must be tagged by the "SXC warning" tag? Image:Jonathan Livingston Seagull figure.jpg was composed by me and never shared with any other website apart Wikipedia, yet was tagged and is now deleted. That was wrong with it? If somebody uploaded it into SXC this should not matter because I am the primary author. Audriusa 20:41, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Which of the two used images had sxc warning? Please restore the figure temporary, I will download and replace the problematic part with some other image from commons. Audriusa 20:57, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for restoring, evaluating:

Away

I'm away for the weekend, or maybe longer. In case you need an admin, your best guess is Commons:List of administrators by language. In case one of my bots (FlickreviewR (talk · contribs), Flickr upload bot (talk · contribs), CommonsDelinkerHelper (talk · contribs), BryanBot (talk · contribs)) misbehaves, please get an admin to block it. Also, in case of emergency, Siebrand has my SSH key and can shutdown the bots directly. -- Bryan (talk to me) 10:47, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Help Chinese wikipedia

hi, Can help Chinese wikipedia run your bot? --Shizhao 18:29, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

I cannot see these images as they are deleted, but I was searching for "Ubisoft" and they popped up (since the search engine doesn't update very often). Aren't all Ubisoft screenshots freely licensed? ({{Attribution-Ubisoft}}) -Nard 02:05, 8 July 2007 (UTC)

Keep meaning to say

Thanks for the discussion index Bryan - most are on the watch list but it does help - cheers --Herby talk thyme 07:34, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

BTW thoughts on this welcome, cheers --Herby talk thyme 08:24, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
Excellent start Bryan, thanks. (Errrr - ability to query other wikis data in time.....? A number of places have been using the gunther one I know.) Sorted somehow (not sortable particularly tho)? I guess colours would draw the eye to those who we might be interested in from an inactivity point of view too? Please let me know if I can give you any support or feedback - thanks --Herby talk thyme 11:56, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Reboot toolserver: bots down

Vanmorgen is de toolserver herstart. Niet-automatisch startende bots draaien niet meer... (o.a. CommonsDelinkerHelper). Cheers! Siebrand 12:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikimedia logo mosaic images deleted

Hi, please see Talk:Wikimedia_logo_mosaic#Broken_-_and_I_can.27t_fix_it.21... one or more images deleted by you are used in the mosaic. Would you please consider finding suitable replacements for them? Right now the mosaic looks not so good. ( see also STOP!!!! DO NOT DELETE THIS IMAGE TILL YOU REPLACE IT IN THE WIKIMEDIA LOGO MOSAIC which has some further hints ... did that file come up when you checked for links?) Thanks! ++Lar: t/c 03:34, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Proof reading

Hoi Bryan. Groet, Siebrand 12:27, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Recommending GFDL + CC-BY

Hi Bryan,

Regarding this edit, I don't think we should recommend this combo because (a) it doesn't ensure the work will stay free and (b) we should keep the recommendations to a minimum to avoid just listing every combination that someone likes. What are your thoughts about the benefit of this particular combo? --pfctdayelise (说什么?) 05:47, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I have to say that agree with pfctdayelise on this - I have trouble understanding why, if someone wants a CC license, they wouldn't go with CC-BY-SA. CC-BY without SA seems like it could very easily lead to 2nd-generation confusion with no licensing at all.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 00:27, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
Please comment on Commons talk:Contributing your own work. It's a philosophical discussion; Whether or not copyleft is a good idea is a religious debate. -- Bryan (talk to me) 14:10, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Discussion Indexing

Just found this. Nifty. Can BryanBot do this on other wikis as well? I'm thinking Meta would be a great place for it, discussions there are very disorganized... Also, could the general idea behind the code also set up indexes for archives? Some archives are quite hard to find things in because of their naming... thanks for your hard work! ++Lar: t/c 21:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

That is clever Bryan (indexing), good work thanks --Herby talk thyme 08:47, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Ok, I set up Meta:Administrators' discussion index, do I have to do anything else to have the bot start creating it? Does the bot use "what links here" on the top template to realise it has work to do? Please take a gander and if I flubbed, let me know. I think once it is up and running I will create one for Stewards and a regular Discussion Index and make sure they are running too before announcing. Thanks again for getting the bot running over there as well... ++Lar: t/c 01:17, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

they will be..

I am trying to sort this out but its very hectic. when deleted from here i will ask them to be speedy deleted from there. with the exception of one which can remain on here (all images of mine, plus some that have been pushed over here) Fethroesforia 22:06, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

these are what need deleting..

all were uploaded..stupidly.. i now know what not to do! Fethroesforia 22:11, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry to be a pain, ive put deletion tags on all images on wikipedia of his too. there are 3 i can keep on here (the two maps and the shoes picture) however i seemed to of missed some pictures..Image:V1 Rocket Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin.jpg Image:Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin.jpg Image:Berlin Wall Plaque.jpg. I believe this to be all of them on commons and on wikipedia itself delete or being deleted.

Your help is not un-noticed. thank you! Fethroesforia 22:48, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

(copied from help desk) ::Just for notification, the images have been deleted and I have managed to get some constructive dialogue. We have figured out who took which pictures, and there are some he does NOT want to upload, these are the metal structure one, the whole load of sachsenhausen photos, the views of the ferhsehturm, the buildings at potsdamer platz and the river spree with the concert hall thing. The others I will check to make sure they are mine and re-upload soon. Fethroesforia 14:05, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

newimages.py draaien

-- Bryan (talk to me) 11:11, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Groet, Siebrand 11:41, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello Bryan!

I'm French but I will try my best English. I'm really sorry about the picture of The Strokes I tried to post this evening. I start to create my first articles and have problems to know what picture is protect or no. I love this group, and I seek beautiful pictures of them, but I think a lot are protect, that's why I accept you tell me if I do bad choose in my picture, because I don't want to be block by the site. I hope I will not punished, I'm really sorry, I will do attention now, sorry sorry sorry... The preceding unsigned comment was added by TiBoy035 (talk • contribs) at 20:31, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

(Sorry for my English :s) I believe I start to understand! :) In fact, I can't put professional photos! Now, I will put simple pictures without licence, because I don't want to be blocked! :( Sorry for the second picture...I will do my best! Good evening!

That's too hard...I was motived to realise beautiful article and that problem about photo protection's break me..You will not have problem with me..Bye..

Thanks for the assist with HoraIsraeliDance.jpg

New at this, took me a while to figure out what was going on. --Ravpapa 07:06, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Flickr upload bot

Is the Flickr upload bot working for Flickr images? I've tried at a couple points today, and it gives me an error message on the very first submit (with the username and URL) every time (the last one was "An unknown error has occured. The error has been saved as 51efb240. Please report this error to Bryan if this problem is persistent"). It's been something similar every time. In the contribs, I don't see any flickr uploads since the piqs.de uploads started, but that may just be a coincidence as I get a similar error message on a piqs.de URL as well. Thought I'd let you know in case you weren't aware of it. Carl Lindberg 02:42, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

I had the same problem for the past 12 hours or so too, and the problem continues. Royalbroil 06:21, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, I broke something. Should be working now. -- Bryan (talk to me) 08:49, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks

Dear Bryan, Many thanks for your help on images which i uploaded and for attaching proper permissions link. I greately apreciate your help. Best Regards. Iberieli 18:11, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Hoi Bryan,

Toolserver template on meta

When you get back from holiday... (no rush!) ...can you set the toolserver status template up on Meta? A page to include it on would be the obvious one where one requests toolserver accounts.

The discussion index thing on Meta is working well, I separated out Stewards from Admins and others are tinkering with what is listed and what is not (a sign of success!). How hard is this to set up elsewhere? What about on non foundation wikis? Let's chat some time... thanks! ++Lar: t/c 13:56, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
