MWP defeated[edit]

Oh well... I thought this day would never happen but to my shock User:AGK gave me a range block I cannot evade... *sigh*...Its such a sad day... Oh well sorry if I pissed you off in these past few months...--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 19:53, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, man. I forgive you. Just please try your best not to cause anymore trouble. I don't know just how hard that would be for you, but you have to give it a shot. If you replace your disruptive activities with positive contributions, I promise that it will go a long way towards rebuilding others' trust in you and a possible re-admission to edit on Wikipedia again. Even if you ban on Wikipedia isn't lifted, you can still refrain from socking there, and you can definitely make positive contributions here. I saw how you combated User:IPhonehurricane95's vandalism on Commons, and I would really like to thank you for that. You really are capable of doing great things on these project sites, and you should really focus on making good edits like those. Your experience here will be a lot more enjoyable here if you do so, I can promise you that. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 02:43, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I have no intention of returning to disrupt the English Wikipedia. I never was a good troll because I always felt bad after trolling someone. As for Iphonehurricane, it's a second nature to revert him. Over at the Simple English Wikipedia (were I'm far more active) we get some Long-term vandals ranging from the Disney vandal bambifan101 to hoax article created The Deadly TV Series.--Mr Wiki Pro (talk) 15:00, 9 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's good to know. And I will always be fighting against vandals and sockmasters whenever I encounter them. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 07:25, 10 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok so it looks like I may have been fibbing when I said the above comment said the above comment but for what it's worth I have now stopped and I am very sorry for annoying you.--Druddigon (talk) 11:24, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you do look much better off doing anti-vandalism work rather than the socking. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 09:30, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

I used one of your photos at the WP Rainbow article. Thanks for the great photo! 216.21.205.118 10:48, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I enjoy adding photos like those to the photo collection at Commons. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 23:44, 11 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry[edit]

I cannot evade Elockid's rangeblock. Anyways, I'm really sorry for the annoyance I caused you over the past year. I have found better stuff to do than messing around on Wikipedia. Btw some socks written in Traditional Chinese 巴哈姆特電玩資訊站 are probably socks of User:Nipponese Dog Calvero.

Again, sorry for the trouble I caused you and best wishes to you in the future :)

Sincerely, iPhonehurricane95

Alright, I accept the apology and I will remove those socks from the list. But seriously, please refrain from making unconstructive edits/creating new sockpuppets in the future. I know that you're mad at being blocked, and most recently, infuriated at the unexplained changes in the TC colors, but honestly, so was I. It shocked the living heck out of me, but I knew that screaming out my hatred/rage wasn't going to get me anywhere. You don't have to make disruptive edits to get your point across, in fact, doing so will only worsen other users' trust in you. If you have decided to quit, please show us, but if you really want to return to positive editing someday, I highly recommend that you take Wikipedia's Standard Offer and wait 6 months before making an unblock appeal at WP:UTRS. But hey, thanks for the apology, I really appreciate it. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 18:59, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just a little tip: don't do anything that might upset anyone else or arouse further suspicion, and you should be fine. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 19:01, 16 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. I'm done with socking for good so you won't see any more socks from me. Watch out for sock usernames in the future like Elockid is a neggir, Suuck my cock, etc. those are socks of LTAs more pervasive and are more destructive in severity. Usernames such as Jeffrey24hui are obviously spambots since spambots often use real world names with a bunch of junk in them. Also, I also happen to know that Ginsuloft, Gbgfbgfbgfb, Altigamr, John Daker, David Beals, Evlekis, 1abacada and HoshiNoKaabii2000 are some vandals who create either often very very offensive usernames or usernames with a bunch of junk in them, have a much higher severity than me, and are more likely to offend and/or attack people. A jjajangmyeon vandal will occasionally create accounts on Wikipedia (often korean usernames) and fill pages with korean junk. Nipponese dog calvero will almost always create attacking usernames in traditional Chinese and sometimes In Japanese as well. Please watch out and don't confuse them with the sockpuppet naming patterns I created in the past. Again, I am really sorry about the trouble I caused and I promise I won't sock ever again and best wishes to you in the future.
Okay. Thanks! I'll definitely keep an eye out for this. And I promise that I will always defend Wikipedia (and other Wikimedia Project sites) whenever I come across any vandal. But thanks for bringing this to my attention. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 19:29, 18 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Abusive Usernames[edit]

Forgive me for interrupting but I have been watching recent changes and the user creation log and I have seen a lot abusive account usernames insulting administrators and checkusers. But I have no idea who is responsible for creating them.--BarsofGold (talk) 02:34, 20 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It could very well be multiple different users; most likely a completely unrelated user. If any of the usernames do not fit the known pattern of User:IPhonehurricane95's known sockpuppets, then it's probably not him. But if this continues, you should go consult an admin. But definitely make sure that accounts like those get blocked indefinitely. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 10:41, 23 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello BlueHypercane761, during my research about the collision of Andromeda and milky way I found the picture above. On the description page it is written, that is your own work. But I found the image on a NASA's website [1]. So the Creative Commons licence does not seem to fit to the picture. I have changed the licence and the information template so far. I would be happy for more clearness about it. I am looking forward for your message. Best regards alkab (talk) 01:54, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Technically, I cropped the image, so it counts as "retouched," but I wasn't able to find the appropriate template at the moment. I also had my suspicions that it was a NASA image, but the website that I found it on didn't really attribute it to anyone, and I didn't want to risk guessing it wrong. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 06:21, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to be fastidious or mean but if you found it on a website you have to mention the website. ;-) Or at least say that you cropped it from something. Even it was public domain our project requires naming the source and the author and the history of the file (e.g. a cropping). Next time you can look on the template what is given there. But I hope you find more pictures like that which are suited for Commons. Best regards alkab (talk) 13:05, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Graphic Designer's Barnstar
I give you this barnstar for the map you've created for the Sinai insurgency map! Good work. Bolter21 (talk) 12:40, 12 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I really appreciate this barnstar! Also, you might want to see File:Boko Haram insurgency map.png as well. No had made any battle maps for those insurgencies involving ISIL, so I decided to go ahead and generate maps for both of those regions. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 23:18, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New vector maps![edit]

Hello! Just wanted to notice that the vector versions of the current civil wars maps ,except Iraq and Syria, has been uploaded. As you may know vector images can take much less size than other types of images (.png) and can be zoomed without quality loss. If you want to make any updates please make sure to apply them on new vector maps .
Thank you!:) Ali Zifan 07:58, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello BlueHypercane761, thank you for your contributions on Wikipedia; however, the map of the Yemeni Civil War is correct, according to the Yemeni Civil War detailed map template; you can see it if you want. Continue your work, but please be sure to check in on the detailed maps. Thanks for reading. Tiseptiko 10:26, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Editing Maps for the Syrian, Iraqi, and Lebanese wars[edit]

Hello there. How do you correct map of the war in Syria and Iraq? Can you teach me? have a nice day.Mehk63 (talk) 15:03, 3 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You will need a photoshop or photo editing software, such as Microsoft Paint of PicPick. And of course, you will have to build up photo-editing skills. There are tutorials on YouTube, in case you are interested. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 00:41, 6 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Viewing outdated maps issue[edit]

Hello there! When I click on the March 27th version of the map, it shows the older March 20th version. Do you know how to fix this so that it shows the new version of the map? Thank you! Sunday, 7:01PM EST, 27 March 2016 — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.151.137.254 (talk) 23:01, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If refreshing the browser doesn't work, then you have to purge your computer's cache. Cleaning up your temporary files could also do the trick. If none of this works, it could be an internet connection problem, or an issue with the website's connection itself. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 02:57, 20 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I've added a purge button to most of the map templates (after an editor added one to the Syrian Civil War map detailed map template). To make things easier, just click on the button to purge your internet browser's cache, and then confirm that you want to purge your browser cache. This will automatically refresh your web browser, and it should also allow you to see the latest revision of the map. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 05:21, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Syria and Iraq 2014-onward War map.png

Hello BlueHypercane761. I can see that you are not active since 8 July 2016. User:Banak is not active since 7 Sep. 2016. I appreciated your work on the Map of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon.

But I wonder now that it showed areas being freed from ISIS while the other map did show more areas still under control of ISIS. How came that? -- Simplicius (talk) 18:32, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It's because of those users' differences in opinion, and the sources that they used, I guess. I was busy. I'll try to upload new maps for the Levant, Iraq, and Syria by March this year. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 06:43, 23 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My new maps should be uploaded by June 2017, if not sometime later this month. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 02:21, 16 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Afterward, my next updates should come sometime in August 2017. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 22:29, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've pretty much updated all of the maps pertaining to conflicts in the Levant region. I also added a new color for the Turkish-backed FSA forces, which I will revert if the consensus is against the new color addition (see that map image's talk page if you want to discuss the change; don't do it here). I might make a few more updates this month, otherwise, the next major update will be in August, unless a major change happens before then. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 07:10, 9 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, the next major update for all of the maps will be in December 2017. I have implemented some of the changes, but I don't have enough time right now to fully update all of the maps until December. In the next updates, I will also correct all of the coloring issues that I'm seeing in some of the maps. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 12:11, 28 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Persistent trolling from ROXELANA22[edit]

Hi, this is BlueHypercane761. I've noticed a persistent troll on my talk page lately, and it's time that others know about this. He's been trolling me since March 2016, and he's been putting all kinds of different crap on my talk page. If you see anything out of the ordinary or anything that happens to be vandalism, please check the revision history to confirm. If it is vandalism or happens to be from an IP address linked to/similar to the IP range listed below, please revert back to the last clean revision, regardless of any circumstances. Additionally, some of this troll's edits point to potential Sockpuppeteering, and the IPs are probably socks of User:Anibal1, as implied in this attack. The sock farm is known to be operated by ROXELANA22, a known Cross-wiki abuser. As for any administrators reading this message, if you notice the troll IP, please revert and implement an IP Rangeblock, and expand the range as necessary. The block should be at least 6-12 months long each time, with account creation blocked, in order to discourage a vandal as persistent as this guy. Thank you guys for your help. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 09:06, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The IP troll also has multiple sockpuppet accounts on Commons, including: Pluto reserve an tps43, Categoría Inventos de Alemania, and TroppoRoxxo. The IP troll basically admitted to the socking here, by including a junk image that he himself uploaded, which was later used to vandalize the Spanish Wikipedia. All sockpuppet accounts should be reported to m:SRG for Stewards to Globally Lock the accounts, since this sockmaster is known for cross-wiki abuse. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 03:06, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Current IP Ranges of Troll: 181.49.88.0/21, 190.84.116.0/22, 181.57.240.0/20, 181.63.210.0/20 (slightly older range), 190.27.176.0/20 (less frequently used), and 69.79.224.0/19 (old US range). BlueHypercane761 (talk) 01:25, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol given[edit]

Hello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you. Zhuyifei1999 (talk) 20:27, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! This is awesome. BlueHypercane761 (talk) 23:28, 26 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Mostly ✓ Done. I implemented most of the changes, but left out the ones for which I couldn't find enough evidence to support a change for. I also made some other changes, based on what I've been seeing in the international news, and polling sources. BTW, in the future, it might be better if you ask for updates on the file's talk page directly. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 21:32, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why is Georgia aligned with both? MaliMail (talk) 21:38, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What changed in Sri Lanka and Mozambique? Also I'd say South Africa is aligned with both MaliMail (talk) 21:39, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Botswana should be Blue MaliMail (talk) 21:59, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Georgia is moving towards the Russian orbit. The people are against this move, but the current Georgian Government is increasingly aligned with Russia. [2] Sri Lanka has been China-aligned for quite some time now (and increasingly so), and Mozambique is sliding deeper under Russian influence, with the increase in Wagner operations, and their recent outreaches to Russia. Russia and China have been quickly gaining ground in Africa since 2020, especially in North Africa. South Africa is kinda aligned with both sides, but since 2022, they've been more aligned with Russia and China than they have been with the West, so there's definitely a tilt there. For Saudi Arabia and the UAE, I believe that they're still well within the Western camp, but they've been playing both sides enough that I decided to flip them to the swingy purple for this update. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 21:43, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
makes sense on the Gulf, definitely agree there. I think Wagner left Mozambique but fair. What happened in Tunisia? MaliMail (talk) 22:03, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
also the Galapagos Islands should be blue because they are part of Ecuador MaliMail (talk) 22:04, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Tunisia's President has taken the country back towards autocracy, since the 2021–22 Tunisian Constitutional Crisis. Since then, Tunisia has alienated the West, while moving quickly into Russia's orbit. Wagner is still operating in Mozambique. They're actually trying to expand their operations across Africa (they're looking to move into Mauritania and Chad, for example). I fixed the Galapagos. I missed that bit. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 22:21, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Botswana condemned Russia's involvement in Ukraine and has been supportive of the west. MaliMail (talk) 22:41, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
fair on Tunisia but it should be purple for now. MaliMail (talk) 22:42, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't seen enough on Botswana yet to color them in on the map. They've kind of flip-flopped in the past, but if the trend holds, they could enter the Pro-West camp. However, this trend might not hold up, based on the latest reports. [3] South Africa currently seems to be more Pro-Russia and Pro-China than they are Pro-West, unfortunately. Tunisia has been sliding fast enough towards Russia's direction that I went with red for them. There's no sign that their trajectory will reverse (absent another revolution). Tunisia seems to be breaking for Russia, whereas Turkey and Pakistan, two other US "allies" that are moving towards Russia, are still trying to game both sides. Tunisia doesn't seem to be playing that game. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 23:20, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lesotho has abstained from the 2 most recent votes on Ukraine, so I'm not ready to add them yet. [4] I'm looking at overall trends and general support across a variety of different issues, not just one or two votes. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 17:59, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Neutral color- Burundi

Pro Russia color - Burkina Faso MaliMail (talk) 16:06, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Burkina Faso is already marked as Pro-Russia. Burundi is definitely pro-China, and leans towards Russia. UN resolutions on Russia's invasion of Ukraine is not the only factor I use to determine which camp a country is in. BlueHypercane761 🌀 (talk) 20:09, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
