This media was probably deleted.
Thanks for uploading File:"Endless Stations" by Ben Cordia - Photo Spread 46 - "The Brightest Place".jpg. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.

Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own).

The file probably has been deleted. If you sent a permission, try to send it again after 14 days. Do not re-upload. When the VRT-member processes your mail, the file can be undeleted. Additionally you can request undeletion here, providing a link to the File-page on Commons where it was uploaded ([[:File:"Endless Stations" by Ben Cordia - Photo Spread 46 - "The Brightest Place".jpg]]) and the above demanded information in your request.

Notification about possible deletion[edit]

Some contents have been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether they should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at their entry.

If you created these pages, please note that the fact that they have been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with them, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues.

Please remember to respond to and – if appropriate – contradict the arguments supporting deletion. Arguments which focus on the nominator will not affect the result of the nomination. Thank you!

Your photos[edit]

I have restored your photos after receiving your OTRS permission statement. I think you are a very good photographer, and many of your photos are quite beautiful. However, currently none of them can be used in a Wikipedia article because of all the black borders around them. Could you please crop them so it shows just the photo itself? After all, Wikimedia Commons is a place to host useful and educational photos, not a personal photo book. Thanks. -- King of 07:03, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent uploads are much better, but many of them still are not useful for Wikipedia articles because they have black borders from the panorama stitching (e.g. File:Endless Stations 67 - Yearning For Shade.jpg) or simply borders you added for aesthetic reasons (e.g. File:Endless Stations 183 - Homeward.jpg and File:Endless Stations 172 - Dancing On The Way Down.jpg). While borders are a good way to present your work when printed, they would look out of place in an online encyclopedia. Can you please upload new versions with the borders cropped out? -- King of 21:52, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@King of Hearts: Thanks so much for your help. With regard to the borders, all my photos are finished works which I have intentionally crafted as they are, with the intention of being viewed on screen, so I want to share them in their original form. I am happy for anyone to change them as they need, which is why I've uploaded them all in 4K or 5K resolution. I am new to wikimedia and I find it extremely confusing and hard to use. Another editor (Pierre cb) recategorised all my uploads, which was great as I had got it all wrong, but I need to change the categories on the 50 you restored for me. I assume there must be some kind of batch edit facility but I can't find one. Basically, having hopefully now understood the categories system, I would like all the photos I currently have uploaded to be in the category "Nature photographers --> Ben Cordia --> Endless Stations". Pierre has created a "Ben Cordia" category and an "Endless Stations" category, but I don't know how to change these, and the help info doesn't make anything any clearer for me. Are you able to help? Thanks so much --Bennos80 (talk) 08:13, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your desire to control the presentation of your artwork, but Wikimedia Commons isn't a photo gallery hosting site like Flickr or 500px; it's a place where users contribute educational photos, and the borders detract from its educational value. I have moved Category:Ben Cordia to Category:Photographs by Ben Cordia, in line with the naming convention for user categories. -- King of 01:19, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Over categorization[edit]

Please avoid uploading images using massive categorization. Most of the categories you put are either redundant, non related or to mother categories instead of the correct sub-categories. You must be using massive uploads to do that while each individual photos is related to different categories in reality. Pleas avoid polluting categories!

Pierre cb (talk) 14:28, 10 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Pierre cb: Thanks for your help, I'm brand new to wikimedia and realise now that I was using the categories as if they were keywords. Having seen your changes and explored further I now understand how the system works. I'll do better with my future uploads. Thanks again for fixing my mistakes
